An incident took place at Walt Disney World last week after a young guest entered an active animal habitat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
According to eyewitness reports and video shared on Reddit by user Metakate334, a young girl climbed over a barrier wall and jumped down into the Savanna enclosure located directly outside Sanaa restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, while guests were waiting for dinner seating.

Eyewitnesses on the scene reported that the child was sitting on the decorative rock ledge before making the decision to jump over the partition into the habitat. Bystanders had reportedly been calling for her to step down from the ledge before she entered the enclosure.
Fortunately, the situation was resolved quickly. The child was safely pulled back out of the habitat by bystanders and family members, sustaining only minor injuries, if any. No animals or guests were harmed during the brief encounter.
The Sunset Savanna is the largest of the four wildlife habitats surrounding Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The area is actively populated by a variety of African wildlife, including giraffes, Ankole cattle, waterbuck, and ostriches. Disney heavily enforces safety barriers throughout the resort to maintain a secure distance between guests and the free-roaming animals.
