New Red River Hog Piglets Getting Ready for Their Savanna Debut
If you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, keep your eyes peeled on the savanna! There are some adorable new faces making their grand debut, and they are already stealing the hearts of guests and keepers alike.
A litter of Red River hog piglets has officially begun exploring their outdoor habitat. You might recognize these little ones: Mason, Cooper, and Phillip, born to mom Clementine, have been joined by Demi, who was born shortly after to mom Persimmon.

According to the animal care team, these piglets are already showing off their distinct personalities. While they are still staying close to their protective moms for guidance, they’ve been spotted curiously sniffing through the grass and discovering all the hidden gems of their new home.

The Red River hogs are known for their striking orange-red fur and tufted ears, but as piglets, they sport unique “watermelon” stripes that help them camouflage in the wild. You can catch these tiny explorers practicing their foraging skills at the Uzima Savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Next time you’re stopping by for a meal at Boma or just enjoying the view from the overlook, make sure to look for Mason, Cooper, Phillip, and Demi. They may be small, but they are making a big splash at the resort!
