WonderCon 2011 - What I'm Look Forward To

In anticipation of next weekends WonderCon, which will be held in Anaheim, CA, I thought it would be good to take a look at some of the things I’m really looking forward to checking it out. I’ll be covering the Con every day next weekend, so I hope to see some of you there!   Hit a jump to take a look at some of the panels I’m most looking forward to.

  • ‘It Was 30 Years Ago Today: Celebrating 1982 – The Greatest Geek Year Ever!’ – I’m a huge geek, and this panel is one I’m really looking forward to. It’ll be on Friday afternoon and will be a look back at 1982, the year that would bring us some of the biggest geek films such as ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’, ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Conan the Barbarian’, ‘Tron’, ‘E.T.’, ‘The Thing’, and so much more. It’s definitely one of the panels I’ve been most looking forward to. I can’t wait for it.
  • ‘Marvel Television Presents’ – This hour long panel will give us a look into what Marvel is cooking up in their television division. From animated fare such as ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ and ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ on Disney XD, to some promised surprises along the way. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Marvel has in store for us over the coming year, and with shows like ‘Hulk’ and the newest iteration of The Punisher coming to television, who knows what might be announced there that day.
  • ‘Once Upon a Time’ – Writers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Hotowitz will share an advanced look at one of the newest episodes of the series, ‘Heart of Darkness’,  as well as do a Q&A after. ‘Once’ is one of my favorite shows of the new season, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what they have to say about the series, and the possibility of seeing a new episode before it airs is even more exciting!
  • ‘Marvel – Talk to the Hat’ – This will be an interactive Q&A with Tom Brevoort, Senior VP of Marvel’s publishing/executive editor, that is anything goes. Full of surprise guests and, as the description says, jaw dropping announcements, this is one I can’t miss. Marvel has a lot going on for the next year, and I can’t wait to hear what Tom has to say about it. This will definitely be a lot of fun.

And that’s just a small portion of what’ll be going on next weekend. I’ll be live tweeting from the event at my twitter handle @pj_campbell, as will our other writer Jessica Swaney at her twitter handle @ocswaynee. If you guys are at the show, tweet at us and we’ll come and meet you! We’d love to meet some of readers. Hope to see you there!
