Universal Orlando to Temporarily Close Several Attractions
Universal Orlando reopened June 5th after being closed for a couple months and is continuing reevaluate their operations. Due to impacts of its daily operations Universal is looking for ways to move its Team Members and will temporarily be closing several attractions.
Starting August 9th, the following rides will temporarily close: A Day in the Park with Barney, Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl and Fear Factor Live at Universal Studios Florida and Poseidon’s Fury and Storm Force Accelatron at Islands of Adventure. Universal has said, “As we continue to evaluate our offerings during this phase of our reopening, we’ve decided to focus on our marquee guest experiences.”
Universal Orlando is trying to move more Team Members to more popular attractions and even adjust hours to limit the number of layoffs. Starting August 2, Universal Studios Florida will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, while Islands of Adventure will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The parks had been operating from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There is no word when the attractions will reopen if they will at all. We will continue to update as we get more information.
