Actor and Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet has been cast in the iconic role of Willy Wonka with a new story called “Wonka” from Warner Bros. that will take prior to the events of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and will be based on the characters from the classic book by Roald Dahl. The movie is currently filming in the UK and is set to premiere in theaters on March 17, 2023.
As a tease to fans, Timothée shared a sneak peek at his character and costume along with a quote from the original film starring Gene Wilder, “The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last…” Check out the post below:

Paul King (Paddington) has signed on to direct the project for Warner Bros. with David Heyman (Harry Potter, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Luke Kelly (The Witches), and Alexandra Derbyshire (Jurassic World: Dominion) acting as producers for the film.
