Disney’s World Princess Week offerings are out, and I have to admit something is exciting about seeing my favorite princesses represented in dessert form. Two of the most popular princesses are Elsa and Anna, so they deserved a special treat at Disney World for the celebrations. It came in the form of a cupcake, and not where I expected to find it.
The Sisters Cupcake is a strawberry cupcake with strawberry filling and strawberry buttercream. It is topped with a chocolate silver crown. The frosting is bicolor, one side purple and the other a frosty blue, reminiscent of the sisters’ outfits in Frozen. The whole thing sparkles, which makes it all the more appealing!
The cupcake is moist, and I could detect the strawberry flavor, though it was subtle. The flavor comes through its strongest in the jam filling inside. I would have loved more filling! There wasn’t much. The frosting was flavorful too, and there were crispy pearls hidden in the frosting that added some texture. Even the crown tasted good on this cupcake! I would eat it again because it was well-made and I enjoy the occasional cupcake, as do my kids (who aren’t Lefse fans). If you’re looking for an unusual dessert though, skip the Disney cupcakes. EPCOT has many exciting offerings!
Find the Sisters Cupcake at Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT during Princess Week. It costs $5.99 and you’ll find it on the dessert counter in a transportable dome. Keep checking back for more Princess Week offerings!
