The Spirit of the Caribbean is in Every Corner of the New Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

The re-imagined Old Port Royale debuts at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort this Fall! When it reopens, guests are invited to embark on a Caribbean-inspired vacation with new areas to meet, dine, and relax. The newly expanded Centertown Market will be one of the highlights of Old Port Royale. Once open, the indoor street market-style quick service restaurant will feature the vibrant colors and details from the Caribbean.

Popular festivals held in the Caribbean islands were the inspiration behind the colorful, hand-painted mural found at the heart of Centertown Market. Disney Parks Blog recently caught up with some of these Imagineers as they were putting the finishing touches on bringing this mural to life. Check out some of the photos:

These murals are typical of what one would find in a local marketplace across the Caribbean. The mural displays a street parade complete with music, dancing, and lavish costumes made from feathers and colorful hand cut fringed crepe paper.

Not to be left out, the all-new Sebastian’s Bistro was also designed with the bright colors of the Caribbean in mind. Details include a screen of hand-painted fishing floats at the entrance to the restaurant.
