The new Caramel Beignet at the France Pavilion is a perfect Flower & Garden Treat

What better way to stroll through France, than with a Caramel Beignet in hand? This sugary confection reminds us of a more well known American treat, the doughnut. The beignet isa bit thick and doughy. The vanilla cream center was very reminiscent of Boston Cream Pie doughnut, with the exception of the topping. Perhaps the round shape threw us off a bit as well since we usually think of a traditional beignet as a square, lighter, and usually more hollow pastry. Don’t let that stop you from giving this a try. The flavor was quite nice.

The topping has a caramel glaze. The dusting of sugar which adds a little crunch and texture. While this Caramel Beignet is very sweet we found it very enjoyable. The official name of this is Beignet Caramélisé Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel . Thats quite a mouthful! Just ask for the Caramel Beignet and they will hook you up!

You can grab the Caramel Beignet over in Epcot’s France Pavilion for a limited time during the Flower and Garden Festival for $5.25 Cogsworth and Lumiere topiaries are just across the way and there is some limited seating along the World Showcase Lagoon wall.
