‘The Mandalorian‘ Season 3 Filming Pushed Back as ‘The Book of Boba Fett‘ Begins Production. Star Wars fans were blown away by the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, where we learned who responded to Grogu’s call through The Force and in a post credit scene Lucasfilm announced the creation of a new spin-off series: The Book of Boba Fett.
Lucasfilm quickly followed the announcement by sharing that production would begin immediately on the new series and would take over the scheduled filming slot previously held by The Mandalorian. This will allow The Book of Boba Fett to premiere in time for the 2021 holiday season, but what does this mean for The Mandalorian?
According to news obtained by TheDisInsider, it looks like filming for The Mandalorian Season 3 will not begin until August 2021 at the earliest, leading us to believe we may not see more Mando until 2022. Currently, Lucasfilm has shared we will be getting 3 Star Wars projects released in December 2021, but it seems The Mandalorian will not be making the wish list this year.
Likely, these titles will include The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and The Rangers of the New Republic, all of which are said to be spin-off series of The Mandalorian and could all feature tie-in’s for the next season, hence the delay in production.
Are you sad to hear the next season of The Mandalorian is delayed? Or are you excited to see the new titles coming from Lucasfilm? Which projects are you the most interested in seeing? We would love to hear your thoughts and predictions in the comments.
