Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park is recognizing two outstanding cast members with some pretty high honors. These skippers have earned the top spot of Skippers of the Year!
Attraction Host if the Jungle Cruise, Jay Friesner, and Food & Beverage Coordinator for the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, Richard Reyes, were selected for this esteemed honor. Both gentleman were nominated by their peers. They were selected for best representation of skipper attributes.
To celebrate this annual occasion, both Skippers now have their picture part of the theming for the attraction and eatery. Thanks to some Walt Disney Imagineering magic, the photos have been aged to match with the 1930s theme so that Jay and Richard fit right in. You can see these photos mounted on plaques in the queue for the Jungle Cruise attraction or on the wall of the Skipper Canteen restaurant.
Guests have the chance to congratulate these awesome skippers at the Magic Kingdom during the holiday attraction overlay, The Jingle Cruise. This famed river boat takes a journey down the familiar Nile River, but there’s no denying the spirit of the holidays. With even more fun jokes and banter, it’s one of the best ways to celebrate the holidays in the park.
