Tessa Thompson Reveals Christian Bale Will Play the Villain in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘. During a recent red carpet interview with ET, Thor: Ragnarok star, Tessa Thompson opened up about the next Thor film and shared that Christian Bale has been cast as the films villain.

Thompson is ecstatic about filming Love and Thunder soon and can’t wait to begin filming this summer alongside co-stars Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), under the direction of Taika Waititi who will also be reprising his role as fan-favorite, Korg. The film is currently slated to take place in Phase 5 of the MCU.

Tessa remained tightlipped about other aspects of the film and what lies ahead for her character, Valkyrie, but seemed very excited about what the future holds! She also withheld the name of the character Christian Bale will play in the film leaving fans speculating over who Bale may appear as the villain in Thor 4. It is currently unknown what the premise of the film will entail, but we do know that Jane Foster will become Lady Thor and we will get to see Valkyrie in her new role as King of Asgard. Also rumored to take place in the film is Thor receiving the Odinforce, but this detail has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios despite exploration into that story arc in a delete scene of Thor: Ragnarok.

 Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release in theaters November 5th, 2021.
