The popular Star Wars Speeder Bike photo-op, just across from Star Tours has been removed. Earlier this week, the bike and the surrounding area had been covered by walls, but the bike remained in its space. Now, the bike has been removed altogether.
The Speeder Bike, a replica of the vehicle used on the planet of Endor in the original films, was a popular photo-op for many years. Guests were invited to climb on and replicate Luke and Leia’s famous Speeder Bike chase through the forests of Endor, from the Return of the Jedi.
The temporary walls at Hollywood Studios stretch all the way down to Mickey and Minnie’s Red Carpet Dreams, from Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. This area is mostly dedicated to planters and walkways, so we can only speculate what will become of the space.
With Galaxy’s Edge being the new home for everything Star Wars in the future, there’s hope it will re-immerge in the new space. Disney is preparing for the huge influx of park guests when the new land opens, and this project looks like another step toward opening day! Stay tuned for more details as they are released.
