Shanghai Disneyland is reopening next Monday, May 11. Tickets went on sale this morning at 8 am local time and sold out within minutes! The park will be opening in phases and tickets during this first reopening phase are 399 yuan ($56) for regular days and 499 yuan for weekends.
The park will be implementing extra health and safety measures when it reopens. Visitors will be limited to one-third of the normal capacity of 80,000. The resort website also states that “social distancing in queues, restaurants, ride vehicles and other facilities throughout the park, and implementing increased frequency of sanitization and disinfection.” Some areas and shows will remain closed during this first phase.
This is the first step Disney is taking to reopen its theme parks. With the tickets selling out so fast, it’s a good sign that guests in China are ready to get back to a somewhat normal life.
