Ryan Reynolds is Taking a Break From Movie Making. For those hoping to see Deadpool make a surprise appearance in Phase 4 of the MCU you may want to prepare yourselves! Unless Reynolds has secretly filmed the entirety of Deadpool 3 or even his MCU debut, it seems we won’t be seeing the “Merc with a Mouth” anytime soon in the MCU.
As filming has wrapped on the upcoming Ryan Reynolds, Will Farrell and Octavia Spencer movie “Spirited” Ryan shared with fans that he will be taking a sabbatical from movie making. The famed actor has been hard at work the last few years starring in several films in a very short window, and with the holidays rolling in it makes sense that he and his family would be taking a much needed break.

Reynolds’ wife, Black Lively, teased him in his post saying “Michael Caine did it first,” but Ryan’s co-stars were very understanding of his need for some downtime before he jumps back into action and wished him well during his break. Ryan shared a few photos from the set of Spirited along with the caption:
“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer… Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”
