The Walt Disney World Fire Department has removed some of the last visible references to the former Reedy Creek Improvement District from its fire station, more than three years after the district was renamed the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

The fire department building previously featured large “RCFD” lettering, short for Reedy Creek Fire Department, on both the front and side of the station. That branding has now been removed, with only “FD” remaining on the side of the building. The RCFD lettering above the front entrance is also gone.
Another familiar piece of Reedy Creek branding has been changed as well. The large yellow firefighter helmet above the entrance previously featured an RCFD seal, but that logo has now been painted over in white. A red sign outside the station has also been updated with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District name and logo.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District was renamed the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District in 2023, with a new board appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The district, originally created in 1967 to support the development of Walt Disney World, continues to oversee services including land use, infrastructure, emergency services, and other government functions within its boundaries. With the latest changes at the fire station, another visible piece of the former Reedy Creek identity has officially disappeared from Walt Disney World property.
