The police in Concord, North Carolina are currently investigating after a Disney store customer said that a razor blade was found inside a Disney children’s sippy cup on the shelf at the Disney store at Concord Mills, North Carolina.
The manager of this Disney store found three more cups with blades inside. Kristin Livingston, who’s a Disney fan and takes her family to Walt Disney World several times a year, just shopped at the Disney store on Thursday. She says that she goes there often. “As a mom it terrifies me,” she said. “I just bought some stuff from there last night so (I’m going to) make sure there’s nothing in our stuff.”
Concord police reported that around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday a customer found the blade sitting in the bottom of a sippy cup. Police said they are in the process of trying to figure out if this was a mistake at the manufacturing plant or if someone purposely placed the blades inside the sippy cups.
“Right here in Concord Mills. It’s just scary,” Karen Thomson said. She said that she shops at the Disney store for her two young daughters. She continued that she hopes Disney and police can get to the bottom of it soon. “Hopefully it was something that happened at the packaging plant and wasn’t something that happened right here in the store,” she said.
Police said they are looking at surveillance video to get to the bottom of the situation. Disney has not revealed exactly which sippy cups were affected, but reported that it appears this was an isolated incident.
