Rapunzel Makes Magical Early Debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is buzzing with major updates right now, but guests visiting the park this week got an extra-special, sun-filled surprise! The long-haired princess herself, Rapunzel, has officially stepped out of her tower and into Hollywood Studios for some incredible early meet-and-greet appearances.
If meeting the lost princess is on your Disney vacation bucket list, you won’t have to wait until a brand-new animation space opens later this summer to say hello!

Rapunzel has been spotted greeting delighted guests on Grand Avenue, right near the Disney Vacation Club kiosk. Dressed in her signature purple gown, she is bringing plenty of optimism, frying pan chat, and royal charm to the area.
Because these early appearances are a test run for a future park offering, she is currently rotating the spotlight with other friends throughout the day. If you want to guarantee your chance to see her, you are in luck! These aren’t completely random, roaming sightings—Disney has actually started listing her daily appearance times right in the My Disney Experience app, making it easy to plan your perfect royal photo-op.
These magical Grand Avenue appearances are giving guests a sneak peek at a massive experience coming to the park very soon. Later this summer, the fully reimagined The Magic of Disney Animation pavilion will officially open its doors, housing a high-concept character hub called “Off The Page!”
This creative new indoor meet-and-greet area will celebrate the incredible art form of Disney animation by taking guests through different “departments” of a living studio lot. Rapunzel will eventually claim a permanent indoor home right inside the Layout Department.
Her dedicated space is being designed around the concept of Disney’s historic multiplane camera. The meet-and-greet background will feature layered scenery and painted cels, meaning your PhotoPass pictures will literally look like you’ve been stepped right into a 2D animated masterpiece!
While we wait for the final touches to be completed on her permanent layout studio, catching Rapunzel out on Grand Avenue is the ultimate treat for your next park day. Be sure to check your app as soon as you pass the turnstiles so you don’t miss out on having the best day ever!
