If you are planning on visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your special someone, you may want to consider a date night. Dining and entertainment options that are both romantic and memorable can be found throughout the resort.

Today’s Disney Date Night suggestion is all about being treated like royalty at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
**Please note that wearing a tiara or crown is optional.**

Prior to your room departure, surprise your prince or princess with a royal proclamation describing the evening’s festivities. You can create one to take along on your trip, or write your note on a Disney postcard. This makes a great keepsake for a scrapbook or photo album.

Begin your royal evening with a dinner for two at Artist Point, a restaurant with a rustic, Pacific Northwest feel. Dine on fare that includes seafood, steak, and arguably some of the best desserts within the Walt Disney World Resort. Boasting an extensive wine list and scenic views, Artist Point is the perfect beginning to a magical evening. Advanced dining reservations are necessary and there is a dress code requirement.

Every prince and princess should have their very own horse and carriage. After dinner, take a leisurely 15 minute stroll or a short boat ride from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Weather permitting, horse and carriage rides depart every half hour from 5:30 PM- 9:30 PM nightly. There is a per-guest fee associated and reservations can be obtained by calling (407) 939-7529.   Remember to give your best royal wave to passersby as you take in the scenic pathways and landscapes!

End your royal experience by walking hand in hand over to the Bay Lake to view the Electrical Water Pageant. Sea creatures and patriotic floats light up the lagoon and glide along to familiar Disney music. The pageant takes place at the resort nightly at 9:45 PM.

  1. my favorite “date night” at Disney was eating dinner at Kouzzina at the Boardwalk, and then walking around while the fireworks were going off at EPCOT. After, we grabbed some ice cream and sat on the beach and watched the Sword in the Stone on the inflatable screen they had set up. It was sweet, simple, romantic and pretty peaceful considering how hectic disney can be sometimes!

  2. Love this idea even for us older folks. You are never too old to want to be treated like a princess.

  3. We had our most romantic date at Disney world. We dressed up like belle and princess charming (two different stories I know but I like belle better). We ate at cinderella’s castle; then went to Epcot and toured the countries. We got two pearls at Japan (shiny, shiny) and listened to the British Invasion and off kilter, followed by Illuminations. Never had such a good time in my life!
