Piston Peak National Park Model Heading to D23 as Imagineering Teases Major Reveal

Disney Teases Piston Peak National Park Model Ahead of D23 2026

Disney Imagineering is packing its bags for D23, and it looks like a piece of Magic Kingdom’s future is coming along for the ride. A new teaser video shared by Walt Disney Imagineering shows a large model being carefully packed into wooden crates before heading to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026, with the rocky landscape and tree-filled scenery pointing directly toward the upcoming Piston Peak National Park.

The Cars-inspired area is currently being developed for Magic Kingdom and will reshape a major portion of Frontierland. Pieces visible in the model appear to show the rugged terrain planned for Piston Peak, along with recognizable connections to the existing park. One portion appears to include the bridge near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, while another area sits near the future pathway leading toward the planned Villains-themed land. It is a small peek, but there is a lot packed into those crates.

The timing certainly has our engines revving. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event runs August 14 through August 16, and Disney is expected to share plenty of Parks news during the Disney Experiences “Horizons” showcase on Saturday night. With Imagineering specifically teasing the Piston Peak model ahead of the event, there is a strong chance fans will get a much closer look at how this new Cars adventure will fit into Magic Kingdom.
