Walt Disney World Resort and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida are coming together to help families and neighbors in the Orlando area by donating surplus food from restaurants across Walt Disney World Resort during the theme park temporary closures.
Last week, Walt Disney World Resort collected and donated several truckloads of surplus food inventory such as salads, fresh greens and hot items to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
This donation is part of Disney’s ongoing Disney Harvest program, which collects surplus and unserved food from locations across Walt Disney World Resort and delivers it to more than 40 feeding programs across Central Florida. In the last year alone, these donations have provided one million meals to Central Floridians in need.
