Patrick Dempsey Will Return for the ‘Enchanted‘ Sequel ‘Disenchanted‘. Disney Fans were ecstatic to hear a sequel to Disney’s Enchanted was on the way, with Adam Shankman at the helm as director and Brigette Hales penning the script. The big question on everyone’s mind at the time was “Will the cast return?”
Lead Actress Amy Adams went through a rather public dispute with Disney over the merchandise sold for the film and was unsatisfied with her cut as all the Giselle merchandise would be made after her real life likeness and felt she deserved more for letting the entertainment company use her face on merchandise including dolls, apparel, and more. The dispute led to Disney cancelling production of merchandise for the movie and nearly destroyed any hope for a sequel, despite many at the time feeling like Robert and Giselle’s story was just beginning.
Now in 2020, we knew that Amy Adams has agreed to return as Giselle for the film and now we have learned, thanks to an exclusive report with The DisInsider, that Patrick Dempsey will also be returning to play Robert for Disenchanted. The DisInsider shared, “We have now exclusively learned that Patrick Dempsey, who played Robert Phillip, will be reprising his role in this film. In addition, we are hearing that the character of Morgan, Robert’s daughter, will be returning as well, though no casting has been confirmed. The studio is also looking for an actress to play a new villain in the film.”
It is currently unknown when the film will premiere, but Disney has shared the film will premiere exclusively on Disney+. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney!
