'Enchanted' Sequel, 'Disenchanted' May Be On The Way

Enchanted‘ Sequel, ‘Disenchanted‘ May Be On The Way. The sequel comes over a decade after the original film was released in 2007.

According to IMDb.com (Internet Movie Database), the sequel to the Amy Adams led film Enchanted is in the works. The films working title is being called “Disenchanted” and rumors are swirling once again after the release of a rendering for the films logo surfaced online.

IMDb lists Disenchanted as “in-production” with credits for Amy Adams returning as Giselle, and rumored return of actors James Marsden (Prince Edward) and Patrick Dempsey (Robert Philip). Also credited is director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Rock of Ages, A Walk to Remember) and Writers: Rita Hsiao, Bill Kelly, Jessie Nelson, J.David Stem, and David Weiss.

Though an official logo has yet to be released by Disney for the film, the logo that has been circulating social media after being released by TheDisInsider, shows a very similar style to the original films design. The potentially fan-made logo may not be the real deal, but it certainly has folks chatting and is currently posted on the film IMDb page.

The potential storyline for the film would follow the characters 10-years further than the original story, with the possibility of Giselle losing her belief in a happily ever after, causing chaos in both the real world and the enchanted world she is from.

Earlier this year Disney Legend, Alan Menken, discussed the films development during an interview with Den of Geek.

”Yes, we’re doing Enchanted 2,” he confirmed to Den of Geek.

“We’ve had meetings,” he added. “Five films I have right now that are waiting for a greenlight. They’re all standing at the light right now, and at some point they’re going to go ‘greenlight’!” Menken also stated that he wouldn’t be surprised if they all got the green light at once, and take over his professional life for the foreseeable future.

Menken became a Disney Legend after working on scores for films such as: The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Enchanted, Tangled, and many more Disney related titles.

Disenchanted does not have a release date as of yet, but as production moves forward we will be happy to share any news regarding the potential sequel. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for all things Disney!
