Rosario Dawson of Star Wars: Ahsoka Pays Tribute to the Late Ray Stevenson Rosario Dawson, star of the upcoming series Ahsoka, paid tribute to Ray Stevenson yesterday. Stevenson passed away at the age of 58. He is known for his work in the Thor franchise and other blockbusters like the Book of Eli and HBO’s Rome. Stevenson will play a part in the upcoming Ahsoka series when it airs later this summer as “Baylan Skoll.”
Disney Legend Ming-Na Wen To Be Honored with a Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame
Actress Ming-Na Wen will be honored with the 2,757th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 30th, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. The star will be located at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard adjacent to the El Capitan Theatre. Wen will be awarded her star in the category of Television.
Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement, “Ming-Na Wen has had quite an iconic career! As Mulan, she inspired women everywhere to embrace their inner warrior. She has always been a supporter of and has always believed in lifting female artists, especially women of color and we’re excited that we’re able to recognize her achievements on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
Wen, is best known for her groundbreaking roles in Disney’s original “Mulan” and 1993’s “The Joy Luck Club.”
Wen has left a lasting impression in the Marvel realm through her portrayal of Agent Melinda May in the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Running for a span of seven seasons from 2013 to 2020, the show solidified her presence. Her remarkable performance in The Joy Luck Club, along with her role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., led to her being recognized as a Disney Legend in 2019, an esteemed accolade for this beloved actress.
Additionally, Wen has made a triumphant return to the Disney family by venturing into the Star Wars universe. After her appearance in The Mandalorian, she once again embraced her role as Fennec Shand in the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett. With Fennec Shand being a fan favorite, it’s highly likely that we will witness more of her captivating presence in the ever-expanding Star Wars universe.

Disney to Host Royal Ball for Make-a-Wish Families During World Princess Week
World Princess Week is August 20-26 and Disney is hosting a royal ball for Make-A-Wish families! This will be one of Disney’s biggest wish-granting events ever filled with enchanting surprises, inspiration and adventures fit for a hero or heroine.
Earlier this week, Minnie Mouse joined Disney cast members and the Make-A-Wish team at Ventura Elementary School in Florida to let 7-year-old Scarlett know her wish of having a “Disney Princess experience” was coming true – the very first wish kid to be invited to the event.
“She’s going to have this super special experience and be able to go to the royal ball as a princess … I know she’s going to enjoy every single second of it,” Scarlett’s mom said. “To see her happy and completely fulfilled is every mother’s dream. It means so much that she’ll be able to experience life as a normal kid at a theme park where we don’t have to think about a lot of the medical stuff that has consumed our lives in the past.”
A lifelong fan of Disney Princesses, Scarlett was surrounded by nearly 100 of her fellow first grade classmates and teachers when she heard the news. When she was just a baby, Scarlett’s family learned she would need a heart transplant. After undergoing many surgeries and a transplant at 18 months old, school was always a place of comfort for her after so much time in the hospital, so we worked with our friends at Make-A-Wish and in the community to make it happen right before school lets out for the summer. Talk about an unforgettable way to wrap up the year!
“Disney is the largest wish granter in the world, and over our more than 40-year relationship, we’ve granted some pretty incredible wishes together,” said Leslie Motter, Make-A-Wish America President and CEO. “Whatever Disney does, they go all out. I can’t wait to see the new happy memories Scarlett and our other attending wish families will be able to make at what is sure to be an unforgettable event.”
While this will be a first-of-its-kind wish event at Walt Disney World, wishes have the transformative power to change lives. In fact, Disney recently celebrated the 150,000th Disney-inspired wish with 16-year-old Mikayla from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida who began her battle fighting cancer three years ago.

Disney World App Now Asks for Seating Preference When Checking in for Dining Reservations
The My Disney Experience app is now asking for guest’s seating preference when they check in for their dining reservation. This is a new option in the app.
Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance and are highly recommended for table service restaurants. Guests can check in for their reservation on the My Disney Experience app. Now, there’s a new feature that allows guests to select their seating preference as well!
There are three options in the seating preference drop down menu: “First Available”, “Booth”, and “Table”. There’s also a note stating that “Seating preference is not guaranteed and may affect the estimated wait time displayed above.”
This feature may not be available at all restaurants and options may vary at different locations.

We Played A Round of Footgolf with a World Champion at Walt Disney World. Kids, tweens, teens, and adults will get a kick out of this precision sport that combines soccer with golf! Oh and apparently we “Seniors”. Apparently, 46 and up are considered seniors! That’s okay, it did not stop us from enjoying an outing to the beautiful Oaks course at Walt Disney World Golf.
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is proud to offer FootGolf, a sport that combines the patient precision of golf with the athletic coordination of soccer. Our 9-hole FootGolf course is certified by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the governing body for the game in the United States.
We enjoyed playing with the United States Champion of FIFG FootGolf. With patience and exceptional skill, he guided us through the round. Explaining how to kick the soccer ball, how we score the game, and instructing us on what the game meant to him. We walked away, uninjured, a little sore from using muscles we haven’t used in a while, and with an appreciation for the simple game that we will now bring our families to for a day out.

For the very first time, Walt Disney World® Golf operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management is proud to offer the game of FootGolf to our guests at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. The 9-Hole FootGolf course is certified by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States. Tee times can be booked to play 9 holes of FootGolf either in front of or behind those playing 9 holes of traditional golf. When played in groups of four, 9 holes of FootGolf should take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, much like that of 9 holes of traditional golf.
Anyone can play as it requires minimal prior experience other than your ability to kick a soccer ball. It is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, enjoy time together with colleagues or loved ones, and have some fun and friendly competition at the same time! As you walk the 9 holes you’ll be accompanied by a selection of Central Florida’s finest wildlife. What is FootGolf
FootGolf is a precision sport; a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf, but more closely related to golf.
Players kick a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened length holes with 21-inch diameter cups in as few shots as possible.
FootGolf rules are very similar to the rules of golf, and bunkers, hazards, and golf course characteristics help to improve the challenge of the game. FootGolf and golf can be played alongside each other on the same course and both types of play can exist harmoniously together.
Since the game is played on a golf course, the basic uniform of FootGolf is similar to traditional golf apparel, with sturdy indoor soccer shoes, or running shoes, being the most appropriate to help protect your feet from potential injury! Knee-length Argyle socks are customary, but not necessary, as is the use of a Flat Cap. Appropriate, non-offensive, golf, or athletic attire is also recommended; denim jeans or shorts are prohibited.

While this shot was previously available during Earth Week, this photo op is now exclusively available to Annual Passholders.
To receive the photo, Passholders must have an Annual Pass with the Disney PhotoPass Downloads Add-On Option, or they may purchase the Magic Shot photo through the My Disney Experience app for a fee.

American-born singer Tina Turner, who transcended a challenging upbringing and an abusive relationship to emerge as one of the most influential recording artists in history, passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday.
Her representative confirmed that she peacefully passed away at her residence in Küsnacht, Switzerland, following a prolonged illness.
Nicknamed the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Turner won six of her eight Grammy Awards in the 1980s. The decade saw her land a dozen songs on the Top 40, including “Typical Male,” “The Best,” “Private Dancer” and “Better Be Good to Me.” Her 1988 show in Rio de Janeiro drew 180,000 people, which remains one of the largest concert audiences for any single performer.
In 1985, Turner gave a fictional turn to her reputation as a survivor. She played the ruthless leader of an outpost in a nuclear wasteland, acting opposite Mel Gibson in the third installment in the Mad Max franchise, “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.”

Tina Turner’s musical contributions extended to Disney as well. She lent her vocals to the songs “Easy As Life” (with Angélique Kidjo) in the concept album Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida and “Great Spirits” in the 2003 Disney animated film Brother Bear. Additionally, her powerful rendition of “He Lives in You” graced the international release of The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride and the compilation album The Lion King Collection. In the 2021 live-action prequel/spin-off Cruella, her captivating cover of “Whole Lotta Love” was prominently featured.
Furthermore, Turner’s remarkable life story was portrayed by Angela Bassett in the 1993 Touchstone Pictures film What’s Love Got to Do with It.
