Zootopia 2 Dethrones Frozen II as Walt Disney Animation’s Biggest Film Ever
Zootopia 2 has officially rewritten the Disney record books!
As of December 31, 2025, the blockbuster sequel is now Walt Disney Animation Studios’ highest-grossing film in history, amassing a staggering $1.46 billion at the global box office. With this milestone, it has officially overtaken the previous record-holder, Frozen II, which earned $1.45 billion during its 2019 theatrical run.
Zootopia 2 continues its record-breaking dominance, raking in $333 million domestically and a massive $1.13 billion from international markets. Even in its fifth week of release, the sequel showed incredible legs over the Christmas holiday, surging with an additional $87.9 million.
The film’s path to the top was a sprint; it reached the $1 billion mark in just 17 days, setting a new speed record for any PG-rated movie in history. Its most significant triumph, however, is in China. While many Hollywood exports have struggled recently, Nick and Judy have become a cultural phenomenon, zooming past $500 million at the Chinese box office alone. To put that dominance in perspective, Disney’s other winter blockbuster, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is currently nearing $100 million in the same region following its December 19 debut.
Zootopia 2 now sits in an elite circle as one of only three films to surpass the $1 billion mark globally this year. It joins the ranks of Disney’s own live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, which earned $1.03 billion, and China’s animated sensation Ne Zha 2, the year’s reigning champion with a staggering $2.2 billion.
The record-breaking sequel reunites fans with the iconic duo of Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman). Shifting from the humble beginnings of the 2016 original, the pair are now seasoned buddy cops tasked with unraveling a high-stakes reptilian mystery. With a new threat looming over the city, the fox and bunny must work together to prevent Zootopia from being turned upside down.

New Year, New Magic: These Walt Disney World Special Offers Could Make 2026 the Perfect Time to Book
If ringing in the new year has you already dreaming about a 2026 trip to Walt Disney World Resort, Disney just gave planners plenty of reasons to start doing the math. A fresh lineup of special offers is now available, ranging from deep hotel discounts to free dining for kids and specially priced tickets, and depending on when and how you travel, the savings can really add up.
Florida residents are seeing some of the strongest deals currently on the table, with room discounts of up to 30 percent for stays most nights from February 22 through April 30, 2026. Additional savings of up to 25 percent are available for most Sunday through Thursday stays from January 4 through February 19, 2026. These offers apply to a wide mix of resorts, including Deluxe favorites like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort, along with Moderate and Value options such as Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and the All Star Resorts. Even select campsites at Fort Wilderness are included, making this a flexible option for many types of trips.
Families planning for 2026 will also want to take note of the return of Free Dining for kids ages 3 to 9. When booking a Walt Disney Travel Company package that includes a Disney resort hotel and a dining plan for guests ages 10 and up, kids in the same room receive a dining plan at no additional cost. With food prices continuing to climb, this perk alone could significantly lower the overall cost of a family vacation, especially for longer stays. The best part? This deal can be combined with other offers, which means you can take advantage of one of the other discounts and add on the free dining for kids!
Military families are once again being offered some of Disney’s best ticket values through the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Tickets. Eligible guests can purchase Park Hopper tickets starting at $499 plus tax, valid for visits through December 18, 2026. Shorter 4, 5, and 6-day options are also available, with Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus upgrades. While blockout dates apply in late March and late November, these tickets remain one of the strongest per-day deals Disney offers all year.

Water park fans have another budget-friendly option with the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass, priced at $89 plus tax for guests ages 10 and up. The pass is valid through May 9, 2026, includes limited spring blockout dates, and comes with bonus perks like a round of mini golf and discounts on cabana-style rentals. With Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon open through February 14, 2026, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach reopening on February 15, this pass pairs nicely with spring and early summer travel plans.
Guests looking to bundle lodging and tickets together can save up to $250 per night with select room and ticket packages on stays of four nights and four days or longer. This offer is valid for travel from January 4 through July 25, 2026, with the biggest savings focused on Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Moderate and Value Resorts are also included at lower nightly savings, making this a solid option for guests who want predictable pricing.
Annual Passholders are also seeing strong incentives, with room discounts of up to 35 percent for select spring 2026 stays. These savings apply across Deluxe, Moderate, Value, and select Disney Vacation Club resorts, reinforcing the value of holding an Annual Pass for frequent visitors.
Rounding out the current deals is a special spring ticket offer for Disney+ subscribers enrolled in Disney+ Perks. This 3-Day, 3-Park ticket starts at $109 per day and includes one visit each to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While Magic Kingdom is excluded, no park reservations are required, making it an easy add-on for shorter trips or festival-focused visits.
Beyond the savings, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years at Walt Disney World in a long time. Guests visiting next year will be able to experience a wave of new and refreshed offerings, including updated Audio-Animatronics at Frozen Ever After, the return of Disney After Hours events, and major attraction updates like the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and a refreshed Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
New entertainment is also on the way, with Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, an all-new Mandalorian and Grogu mission on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and new shows and experiences debuting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Add in returning festivals, seasonal events, water park perks, and even Banana Ball coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports, and 2026 offers more reasons than ever to pair these special offers with brand-new magic across the parks.
Between room discounts, free dining for kids, military savings, Annual Passholder perks, and flexible ticket options, Disney’s early 2026 special offers make now a smart time to start planning. Availability is limited across most promotions, but for guests ready to turn New Year’s resolutions into park days, the timing feels just right.

Sprinkles Cupcakes Reportedly Closing at Disney Springs After Nearly a Decade
Sprinkles Cupcakes is reportedly set to close its Disney Springs location tomorrow, bringing a nearly ten-year run of cupcakes, cookies, and late-night sugar fixes in Town Center to an end. While neither Disney Springs nor Sprinkles has issued an official statement, multiple social media posts today claim that employees were notified they will be out of a job effective tomorrow.
In the days leading up to the reported closure, guests noticed several warning signs. Online ordering stopped showing pickup availability beyond December 31, and daily operations appeared to be quietly winding down without any formal announcement. Reports circulating today suggest that December 31, 2025, will be the location’s final day of operation.
According to multiple reports, the Disney Springs closure would be part of a larger nationwide wind-down of Sprinkles locations, making this more than just a local change. The Disney Springs shop opened in 2016 and gained particular notoriety for its rotating cupcake flavors and its iconic cupcake ATM, a novelty that epitomized the height of the cupcake craze.
While Disney Springs is far from lacking sweet treat options, Sprinkles carved out a distinct place over the years, particularly for guests looking for a quick dessert or a late-night stop. If the closure proceeds as reported, attention will quickly shift to what might replace Sprinkles in this prime Town Center location and what direction Disney Springs dining could take next.
New Emotional Disney Commercials Celebrate Lifelong Memories of Fans
Disney is closing out 2025 by pulling straight at the heartstrings with a brand new ad campaign centered on lifelong fan memories. The campaign launched with a commercial titled Through Time, which uses real family home videos to reflect on how Disney moments grow alongside the people who experience them.
The first spot follows Paige and her family as they look back on treasured Disney memories, from receiving a Minnie Mouse doll as a child to visiting Disney Parks together over the years. The ad leans heavily into nostalgia, blending everyday family footage with iconic Disney moments that many fans will instantly recognize as their own.
Through Time is set to air nationally during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC, beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on 12/31/2025. Disney says the campaign aims to highlight how its stories, characters, and parks serve as emotional touchstones that connect families across generations.
In a statement, Joanna Balikian, Senior Vice President of Brand Management at The Walt Disney Company, said the campaign celebrates the deep connection fans have built with Disney over a lifetime. As the year comes to a close, the company is clearly leaning into reflection, joy, and shared memories as it welcomes 2026.
‘TRON: Ares’ Disney+ Streaming Date Revealed: Enter the Digital Frontier
The wait for the Grid’s return is nearly over. Disney has officially announced that the highly anticipated sci-fi epic TRON: Ares will make its streaming debut on January 7, exclusively on Disney+.
The new year is set to kick off with a high-velocity spectacle as director Joachim Rønning takes audiences back into the neon-soaked world that has captivated fans for over four decades. This latest chapter promises a groundbreaking shift for the franchise, bringing the digital world crashing into our own.
Unlike its predecessors, which largely took place within the confines of a computer server, TRON: Ares explores the consequences of the digital world bleeding into reality.
The story follows Ares, a highly sophisticated Program sent from the digital world into the real world on a perilous mission. This journey marks humankind’s first official encounter with AI beings, sparking a high-stakes clash between artificial intelligence and humanity.
Early buzz suggests that Ares maintains the franchise’s reputation for pushing cinematic boundaries. Jonathan Sim of Coming Soon describes the film as a “fast-paced, thrilling movie that launches at full throttle and never slows down.”
Visual and auditory immersion remain the series’ hallmarks. Critics are already highlighting the collaboration between Rønning and cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth, noting a canvas that “pops with color, contrast, and motion.” Perhaps most exciting for fans is the soundtrack; the film features an electrifying original score by Nine Inch Nails, which Joseph Morona of Cleveland.com claims “literally rattles your seat.”
The Ultimate Home Cinema Experience
Disney+ is ensuring fans get the most immersive experience possible by releasing TRON: Ares in IMAX Enhanced.
Expanded Aspect Ratio: Subscribers can view the film with IMAX’s exclusive dimensions, providing more picture and preserving the filmmakers’ original creative intent.
IMAX Enhanced Sound: For those with certified TVs and AV receivers, the film will feature sound powered by DTS, delivering the full dynamic range of the original cinematic mix.
Prepare for the Grid
Before the digital revolution arrives on January 7, fans can catch up on the entire saga. Both the original 1982 cult classic TRON and the visually stunning TRON: Legacy are currently available to stream on Disney+.
Watching the evolution of the Grid is the perfect way to prepare for the legacy that drives directly into the heart of TRON: Ares.
Mark your calendars: The digital frontier opens on January 7.
Paint the Night 2026 Showtimes Officially Revealed
The wait is almost over! Disneyland Resort has officially published the performance calendar for the Paint the Night Electrical Parade ahead of its grand 2026 return. As fans have been eagerly anticipating, the neon-lit spectacle will begin lighting up the park once again on January 30, 2026.
For its 2026 run, Paint the Night will follow a consistent weekly schedule: guests can catch two performances every Friday through Sunday at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., while a single show will take place at 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Outside of special ticketed events, the parade is set to dazzle crowds seven nights a week.
This high-energy spectacle originally debuted in 2015 for Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration, drawing inspiration from the Hong Kong Disneyland version that ran from 2014 to 2020. After its initial Disneyland run ended in 2017, the parade moved across the esplanade to Disney California Adventure for 2018. Following a long hiatus, it finally made its grand, updated return in May 2025 to kick off the resort’s 70th Anniversary festivities.

Heroic Cast Member Injured Saving Guests from Runaway Boulder at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
A potentially dangerous situation was averted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of a Cast Member at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!
During a performance of the long-running stunt show on Tuesday, December 30, the iconic rolling boulder prop—a massive sphere weighing approximately 400 pounds—reportedly became dislodged from its track during the opening temple scene. Instead of following its scripted path, the prop began rolling toward a section of the audience.
According to witnesses, a Cast Member on stage immediately recognized the danger. In a split-second decision, he threw his body in front of the runaway prop to intercept its path. The impact successfully stopped the boulder’s momentum before it could reach the guest seating area, but the collision resulted in the Cast Member being pinned and injured.

“It was terrifying. One second we were watching the show, and the next, that giant rock was heading right for the front row,” said one guest who witnessed the incident. “That Cast Member didn’t hesitate. He literally jumped in front of it to protect everyone.”
Show operations were immediately halted as the medical team rushed to the stage. The theater was evacuated to allow emergency personnel to attend to the injured employee.
Disney issued the following statement:
“We’re focused on supporting our Cast Member, who is recovering. Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened.”
The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! has been a staple of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 1989. While the show is designed to demonstrate the “movie magic” behind dangerous stunts, today’s event was an unscripted reminder of the real-world risks involved in live physical performance. The boulder prop, while made of rubber and fiberglass, is heavy enough to cause significant injury, making the Cast Member’s intervention all the more commendable.
Hyperspace Mountain to Blast Back into Disneyland Next Spring
Prepare for a jump to lightspeed! Hyperspace Mountain, the fan-favorite Star Wars overlay of the iconic Space Mountain, is officially blasting back into Disneyland Park on April 28, 2026. Guests will once again be able to dodge TIE fighters and navigate a frantic dogfight among the stars.
The fan-favorite overlay kicks off its limited-time run on April 28, 2026, likely serving as the centerpiece for the annual Season of the Force festivities surrounding May the 4th. But that’s just the beginning—Disney is already teasing even more ‘exciting news’ for Star Wars fans in the very near future.
The galactic celebrations reach a fever pitch on May 22, 2026, when a brand-new mission featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu debuts on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The ride update premieres the exact same day the new feature film hits theaters, giving guests the chance to jump into the cockpit for a mission inspired by the big-screen adventure.
Construction crews have officially dismantled the PizzeRizzo billboard from the former Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This landmark removal is a major visible milestone in the area’s ongoing transformation into Monstropolis, the highly anticipated Monsters, Inc.-themed land.
The towering billboard that once sat atop the green outdoor seating area has been completely dismantled, leaving behind nothing but a bare metal base on the roof. Fans will remember the sign for its flashing neon lights and the artwork of Rizzo the Rat proudly declaring it ‘The City’s Top Rated Pizza.’ The neon arrow that once pulsed toward the entrance has also been removed.
Nearby, the transition is just as busy at the restrooms, formerly known as Gonzo’s Royal Flush. After that signage was stripped away last week, crews in a lift were spotted scrubbing and prepping the exterior walls around the vents. Since this building is physically attached to PizzeRizzo, it’s clear Disney is deep into the process of stripping away the Muppet-era ‘theming’ to make way for the fur-and-fang world of Monstropolis.
This corner of the park has seen many lives, originally debuting as Toy Story Pizza Planet Arcade before transforming into the Muppet-themed PizzeRizzo in 2016. After nearly a decade of serving up ‘the city’s top-rated pizza,’ the venue closed alongside Muppet*Vision 3D in June 2025 to make way for the world of Monstropolis. While the PizzeRizzo structure is staying put, it will be reimagined as a brand-new quick-service location, though Disney has yet to reveal exactly what’s on the menu.
The transformation extends across the entire courtyard. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is set to become Harryhausen’s, the iconic sushi spot from the original Monsters, Inc. film. Meanwhile, the Muppet*Vision 3D theater is already being stripped of its felt-and-glue decor; concept art suggests it will be rebranded as ‘The Glob.’ The land’s crown jewel, however, is being built just beyond the courtyard’s original borders: a groundbreaking ‘door vault’ roller coaster. As Disney’s first suspended and vertical-lift coaster, it promises a high-speed chase through the scream-processing factory unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Former Imagineer Tony Baxter to Appear at 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts
A legendary name in Disney history is heading back to EPCOT, and fans of classic Imagineering will want to mark their calendars. Former Imagineer and Disney Legend Tony Baxter is scheduled to appear at the 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, giving guests a rare chance to meet one of the creative minds behind some of Disney’s most beloved attractions.
Tony Baxter will be signing artwork at the Disney Fine Art booth located on the World Showcase bridge from January 22 through January 25. Signing times are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. Available pieces will include his Pinocchio-inspired Tyrolean Fantasy and the Mary Poppins-inspired Steps of St. Paul’s, both of which are popular with collectors and longtime fans.
Disney Fine Art has also teased a little extra fun during the signing event, encouraging guests to stop by, say hello, and keep an eye out for a bit of Disney art magic along the way. The playful nod even references Figment, which feels especially fitting considering Baxter’s legacy at EPCOT.
Baxter spent 47 years with Walt Disney Imagineering, eventually rising to senior vice president of creative development. His resume reads like a greatest hits list of Disney Parks history, including Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Star Tours. He also served as executive producer for Disneyland Paris, was named a Disney Legend in 2013, received a THEA Award for lifetime achievement, and even consulted on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after his retirement.
If you are attending the 2026 Festival of the Arts, this signing is shaping up to be a must do moment for fans who appreciate Disney history, classic attractions, and the creative minds who brought them to life.
