Disney Moves Around the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom. The largest gift and souvenir shop in Magic Kingdom Park, the Emporium offers apparel, plush toys, pins, candy, and more.
It is normal to walk into the Emporium, located on Main Street USA in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, and see the main merchandise collections come and go. Taking over either the middle room or along the walls of the main room. The rest of the store remains the same, but with a new month, and a new Halloween collection coming out today, the whole store has been adjusted and moved around.
From Ears to Shirts, everything has been moved around. When walking into the front of the Emporium guests would normally walk into a corner full of plush characters, which has now been moved to the central room, which is also filled with Munchlings. The entrance area is now souvenir shirts.
Above is the new plush and Munchling collections. This room use to hold Mickey and Minnie collections, most recently it was home of the Pride collections.
By Casey’s Exit, you will now find the Star Wars Collection.
Where Disney had men’s shirts, is now filled with Tiys, and ILLY Dolls, along with Train and monorail sets.
Disney Moves Around the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom
The S’mores Macaron comes with a chocolate-dipped macaron shell, toasted marshmallow, marshmallow mousse, chocolate mousse center and Graham Cracker crumbles. It truly takes you back to camp fire nights!

Dates Announced For Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT in Disney California Adventure will be changing over to Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark again this fall! Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort can enjoy this version of the attraction starting September 1.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark is a Halloween overlay for Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT. It will be running from September 1 through October 31.
The Disneyland website describes the overlay as:
“Do you have what it takes to save Groot from crazed creatures on the loose?
Amid the chaos of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s rescue attempt, Groot got left behind. Even worse, the Collector’s Fortress is now mired in a total state of emergency—and overrun with menacing beasts.
Your objective? Team up with Rocket to return to the fortress, distract the monsters and escape with his buddy in tow—but proceed with caution. With the Guardians of the Galaxy involved, the plan is bound to run into a few unexpected ups and downs!”
This version of the ride is not available all day. It begins at 3 pm and runs until park closes.

Paradise Pier Hotel Transformation to Pixar Place Hotel Continues with NEW Water Play Area Opening Aug. 1st
A new water play area is coming to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel as part of its transformation into Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel. This all-new “Finding Nemo”-themed water play area will be available to overnight guests beginning Aug. 1, 2023.
“OPENING AUG. 1! Overnight guests staying at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be able to enjoy the all-new “Finding Nemo”-themed water play area on the rooftop pool deck as part of the ongoing Pixar Place Hotel transformation at Disneyland Resort. Families can splish and splash at Pixel Pool, take a winding water ride down Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and frolic with Hank on the pop-jet splash pad at Nemo’s Cove”
Other Details Coming to Pixar Place Hotel
The lobby will continue to evolve over the next few months and will begin to blend beloved Pixar imagery with the hotel’s contemporary setting. When the transformation is complete, iconic images from Pixar films will be at the front desk, with characters pictured larger than life in curated artwork.
This winter, as guests enter the hotel lobby, they will be greeted by the Pixar Lamp playfully balancing atop its ball! A whimsical, colorful character-inspired mobile will hang above, welcoming guests to the new, reimagined lobby atrium.
Later this year, a family play court will be added to the deck with activities inspired by Pixar’s famous short films. Interactive games and imaginative free play celebrate favorite friends from “La Luna,” “Bao,” “For the Birds,” and “Burrow.” And when it’s time to relax, guests may enjoy food and drinks under the love-struck umbrellas from “The Blue Umbrella.”
By night, the pool deck is the ideal spot to take in amazing views of the Disneyland park fireworks, and lounge by cozy character-inspired firepits with family and friends.
This fall, the hotel will unveil a new restaurant at the resort, Great Maple. This Southern California-based modern American eatery specializes in playful takes on upscale comfort food. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner all day, the ground-floor restaurant will be easily accessible to hotel guests, local diners and theme park goers!
Signature dishes to start dreaming about? For me, it’s the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and the Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs! Great Maple will also have a full bar including beer, wine and cocktails.
Great Maple’s culinary creativity will abound throughout the hotel, offering food and beverage service at the pool, as well as a new grab ‘n’ go coffee shop and café near the lobby, and eventually at the hotel’s new concierge lounge.

Donald Glover and Brother Stephen to Write Lando Series for Disney+
Variety has confirmed that Donald Glover and his brother Stephen will take over writing the upcoming Disney+ “Lando” series. News of a Lando series emerged in 2020, with Justin Simien attached to the project. Simien directed Disney’s Haunted Mansion, which is currently in theaters. Glover portray a younger version of Lando Calrissian in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Back in April Glover told GQ, “I would love to play Lando again. It’s a fun time, being him. It just has to be the right way to do it. Time is precious…You only get so much. I’m not interested in doing anything that’s going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.”
Donald Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, has had a remarkable and diverse career in both film and television. His journey began in the early 2000s with writing and performing sketch comedy for the internet, which eventually led him to be hired as a writer for the hit comedy series “30 Rock.”
Glover’s break into mainstream recognition came when he starred as Troy Barnes in the cult-favorite comedy series “Community,” showcasing his exceptional comedic timing and acting versatility. As his popularity soared, he ventured into music under the moniker Childish Gambino, releasing several successful albums that earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.
In addition to his success in television, Glover’s film career also flourished. He portrayed Lando Calrissian in the blockbuster hit “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” bringing charm and charisma to the iconic character. However, it was his ambitious and thought-provoking work as both writer and director in the critically acclaimed series “Atlanta” that cemented his reputation as a multi-talented creative force.
The show explored various aspects of the African American experience in a unique and unconventional manner, earning numerous accolades and awards. Glover will now return to the writers chair to bring this Star Wars Icon back to life in an upcoming show. Bob Iger has recently said that Lucasfilm and Disney will scale back their Star Wars and Marvel content, so there is no word as to how that would effect a Lando series. The Legendary Pee-wee Herman, Paul Reubens Passes Away at 70
In a heart-wrenching announcement, it was revealed that Paul Reubens, the brilliant actor renowned for his iconic portrayal of Pee-wee Herman, has passed away at the age of 70 after a private battle with cancer.
In an Instagram statement, Reubens expressed his regret for not making his struggles public but also conveyed his deep gratitude and affection for the love and support he received from friends, fans, and well-wishers throughout his career. His art, filled with positivity, whimsy, and a strong belief in the power of kindness, has touched the hearts of generations, making him a cherished figure in the entertainment world.

As a testament to the impact he made, Paul Reubens returned to lend his voice once again, this time for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The droid’s legacy lived on as DJ Rex (R-3X) in Oga’s Cantina, bringing lively beats and entertainment to all who visited.
