Hilton New York Unveils Aladdin’s Times Square Palace Suite

Hilton New York can help make all your travel wishes come true in their brand new room inspired by Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway. The Hilton is taking full advantage of their close proximity to Aladdin at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre. The “Cave of Wonders” washroom features gold accents and exotics vases and gems. Other touches like Jasmine-inspired silks, a magic genie lamp light, and an lago-inspired bird light capture magical touches that will delight the biggest Disney fans. Your stay at Aladdin’s Times Square Palace suite includes two “Genie-tini” cocktails, two Magic Mocktails, and a wake-up call from the Broadway musical’s Genie himself, Michael James Scott.

Ka Maka Pool at Disney’s Aulani Resort Closing for Refurbishment this October

Disney Resorts announced today that as part of their commitment to providing the utmost guest experience, the Ka Maka Pool and Grotto, along with the Ka Maka Whirlpool spa, will be temporarily closed for essential maintenance. The closure is scheduled from October 9 to October 28, 2023.

During this period, Guests are invited to explore the other exciting water features available at the resort. Among the options are the Waikolohe Pool and Stream, featuring two exhilarating water slides and multiple whirlpool spas. Families with young children can enjoy the Keiki Cove splash zone, and the Wailana Pool is also open for Guests to relax and unwind.

While the maintenance work takes place, there is a possibility that Guests may observe or hear construction activity. The NY Post is reporting that Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is currently working on a musical adaptation of the 1965 novel The Warriors. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a multi-talented and acclaimed artist known for his accomplishments as a composer, lyricist, actor, and playwright. With a career that spans theater, film, and music, he has garnered widespread recognition and numerous accolades.

Lin-Manuel is best known for creating and starring in the Broadway musicals “Hamilton” and “In the Heights,” both of which earned him multiple Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. His innovative approach to blending hip-hop, rap, and traditional show tunes in his work has redefined modern musical theater and earned him a dedicated global fanbase.

Additionally, Lin-Manuel has contributed to film projects, such as composing music for Disney’s “Moana” and starring in the hit film “Mary Poppins Returns.” With his creativity, versatility, and cultural impact, Lin-Manuel Miranda continues to be a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.

“The Warriors” is a gripping novel by Sol Yurick, published in 1965, that delves into the gritty world of street gangs and the struggle for survival in the urban jungle of New York City. Inspired by the ancient Greek epic, “Anabasis” by Xenophon, Yurick sets the story in the turbulent 1960s, where young gang members must navigate through a night of violence and danger.

The novel centers around the Coney Island Dominators, a fictional gang consisting of young toughs from various backgrounds and neighborhoods. The Dominators, led by their charismatic and intelligent leader, Cleon, are one of the most formidable gangs in New York City. However, they face fierce competition and territorial disputes with other gangs.

A 1979 film adaptation of “The Warriors,” was directed by Walter Hill. It is a gripping and action-packed urban thriller that brings Sol Yurick’s novel to life on the big screen. The movie is set in a dystopian version of New York City, where street gangs control different neighborhoods and violence is a way of life.

This would be Miranda’s first musical since Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda has worked on musical projects for Netflix (tick… tick… Boom!), Disney (Encanto, The Little Mermaid), and contributed new/additional lyrics for New York, New York which closed on July 30, 2023.

Race into Fall with the Disney Wine & Dine Half-Marathon Weekend

The 2023-24 runDisney race season kicks off Nov. 3-5 with the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. The popular collection of races features a 5K, 10K and half marathon, as well as the Disney Two Course Challenge (10K and half marathon) and Post-Race Party.

This year, racers will experience a journey of good food and good company during the 2023 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend’s Banquet Bash.
Race events feature an “Alice in Wonderland”-themed 5K, a “Beauty and the Beast”–themed 10K, an “Encanto”-themed half marathon and a Figment-themed Two Course Challenge.
Guests can also experience the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, including the opportunity to buy merchandise and gadgets for runners. Race participants and other guests must sign up for the virtual queue on the first day of the Expo (Nov. 2) to enter.

Disney World Adds Bonus Park Reservations for Annual Passholders in August. Before you visit a park, you must have valid admission and may need a theme park reservation depending on the type of admission and the date of your visit.

We have seen bonus park reservations open up for more dates, and now for more parks. While Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are the regular bonus reservations, now Disney has added a few dates for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

The bonus reservations are added for Annual Passholders to get a “free” reservation that does not count against the 5 dates that can be reserved already. If we are seeing MK and HS bonus days, Disney probably knows those days may be lighter crowds, and you can take advantage of those days and hopefully enjoy a quieter day.

Theme Park Reservation Requirements

Theme park reservations are required to enter a park through January 8, 2024. Beginning January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. For other admission types, theme park reservations may be required.

Limited Edition Hatbox Ghost Tiki Mug Coming to Disneyland

A new limited edition tiki mug is coming to the Disneyland Resort! The new Hatbox Ghost Tiki Mug will be materializing on August 9.

To celebrate the 54th Anniversary of the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is introducing a 3rd Edition Hatbox Ghost tiki mug with a ghostly teal green color, black glaze and served with the specialty cocktail Cloaked Specter or the non-alcoholic version. Guests must be 21 or over to purchase.

The new Hatbox Ghost mug will be available at Trader Sam’s beginning at 11:30 AM PT on August 9. Guests are limited to two mugs per person, per transaction. While supplies last. If looking to park your vehicle at the Disneyland Hotel, please note that self-parking rates will apply. Disneyland Hotel parking is validated for 3 hours for dine-in guests only.

Fun Fact: The first Halloween Tiki Mug, the Zombie head with the Green interior glaze, is based off Disney Legend Blaine Gibson’s original sculpt design of the Hatbox Ghost.

Disneyland Haunted Mansion Celebrates 54^th Anniversary

This Hatbox Ghost mug release comes on the anniversary of the Haunted Mansion which creaked open its doors to foolish mortals on August 9, 1969 in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park. In fact, the Hatbox Ghost was featured in Haunted Mansion when the attraction first opened. Then, he mysteriously vanished, only to reappear in 2015 in time for the 60th anniversary of Disneyland.

Today, you can see the legendary Hatbox Ghost on the big screen in Disney’s Haunted Mansion, now in theaters.

Disney Files Permit on Upcoming Figment Meet & Greet Coming to EPCOT

A Figment meet & greet is coming to Epcot and Disney recently filed a permit for the experience! The meet & greet will be set in the Imagination! Pavilion at Epcot.

The permit filed is for “installation of scenic items” at the Imagination! Pavilion. The company contracted for the job is Bungalow Scenic Studios. The request is vague but it makes sense for Disney to set up some kind of backdrop for the iconic character.

Bungalow Scenic Studios also worked with Disney on the “Encanto” x CAMP experience in New York and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wish. The Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope meet and greet in the Imagination! Pavilion was also done by them.

Figment Meet & Greet

Guests will not have to wait much longer to meet Figment in EPCOT! It has been confirmed that the Figment Meet and Greet will be coming in the Summer of 2023 to EPCOT!

Fans of Figment will get the chance to hug the long-time EPCOT icon at the Imagination! pavilion beginning in late summer.

No other details have been revealed at this time.

New Disney Haunted Mansion Movie Collection At Disney World!

Attention foolish mortals, a new Haunted Mansion Movie Collection has materialized at Walt Disney World! It features apparel and kitchenware with artwork inspired in the lasted Disney live action film, take a look:

For apparel we found this stylishly otherworldly Haunted Mansion t-shirt inspired by the Disney live action film. With dramatic screen art on the front, the film logo on the sleeve and an allover, altogether eerie tie-dye look, this tee will turn heads (upside down), you can get it here!

There’s also a Hatbox Ghost long sleeve t-shirt features big, bold black and white screen art on the front and allover tie-dye stripes that add up to a thrilling effect. With the film logo screened on one sleeve and thumb holes in the cuffs, this cotton jersey tee is a perfect mix of chill and chilling so you can wear it during the day or after midnight when the ghosts come out.
