Become a Ninja Master at Legoland Florida’s Ninjago Weekend

We were given the exciting opportunity to attend the opening weekend of Legoland Florida’s Ninjago Weekends and had a blast! This fan favorite event has made its return after a 2 year hiatus and after much anticipation- our adventure into the world of Lego Ninjago did not disappoint!

We started our journey with a tour of Legoland Florida‘s Ninjago themed rooms at the Legoland Resort Hotel. The attention to detail was amazing! As soon as you open your hotel room door, you’re transported to the LEGO® NINJAGO® universe with heroes such as Kai, Nya and Master Wu. Use your ninja skills to have the ultimate ninja sleepover in a spacious room to recharge your elemental batteries and unwind in a luxurious suite that can sleep a family of 5! Here you can relax and unwind after a fun day in the park and rest up like a victorious ninja.

Next up on our list of Ninja-fun was an exclusive meet and greet with Lego Ninja friends Kai, Nya, and P.i.x.a.l! You can find them along with other Lego Ninja characters such as Master Wu, Zane, Arin and Sora around the park, ready and waiting for their photo op with you. Refer to Legoland’s Event Guide for character meet and greet times and locations.

After spending time with our new Lego Ninja friends and sharpening our training skills, it was time for a delicious lunch to refuel. The exclusive Ninjago weekends menu offers mouth watering bites such as Master Wu’s Dojo-Que Sandwich, Wings of Wisdom, Bonsai Birria Ramen, Curr-ate Chop Fries, HI-YA-biscus Kombucha Lemonade, and our personal favorite item on the menu-Foe Fighting Apple Fries! HI-YUM!!!

We fully enjoyed our day at Legoland Florida riding the Lego Ninjago Ride, showing off our moves at the Whip Around Dance Party, taking photos with Ninjago friends, and shopping for awesome Ninja gear. If you’re heading to Ninjago weekends, be sure to also add Lloyd’s Elemental Challenge Show to your list of must-see things! This incredible high energy show led by Lloyd comes to life through stunts, special effects and of course- awesome Ninja moves!

With so many fun and exciting things happening around the park, you’ll want to visit Legoland every weekend for Ninjago Weekends! Here are the dates you’ll want to clear your calendar for to attend this Lego-tastic event! HI-YA!

Drawn to Life Celebrates Second Anniversary with New Finale in Disney Springs

We were recently invited to check out the new finale for Drawn to Life presented by Cirque du Soleil in Disney Springs. Here are our thoughts on the new ending for this fan-favorite show.

“That’s something they’ll always remember for the rest of their lives.” This is a sentiment I often contemplate when witnessing the daily magic at Walt Disney World. Whether it’s an enchanting moment for my own children or a special experience for a guest, the allure of Disney is undeniable. “Drawn to Life” is no exception, as I discovered during a captivating performance with my 15-year-old daughter. Seated near an empty stage, our attention was drawn to a seemingly ordinary pillow that came to life, engaging the audience in a delightful interactive experience.

The pre-show unfolded with various performers, including an animatronic pillow and groups of entertainers, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. The stage came alive with playful rubber band antics and interactive drawing sessions involving young guests and their mother. The connection established during the pre-show set the stage for an unforgettable experience.

As the main show commenced, I was thoroughly entertained by the skilled performers and aerialists. However, the true magic happened when I observed the show through the eyes of my daughter, an aspiring artist. The protagonist, Julie, resonated deeply with her, as both share dreams of becoming Disney animators. Julie’s journey, navigating challenges, embracing mistakes, and evolving as an artist, struck a chord with us, mirroring my daughter’s creative endeavors.

Each act conveyed valuable lessons about the artistic process. Aerial dancers symbolized the importance of trusting the creative journey, while tumblers in anatomy-based costumes illustrated the repetition required for seamless animation. The exploration of color, conveyed through acrobatics and the color wheel, provided insights into the vast spectrum of hues visible to the human eye.

The emotional climax featured Julie’s animated contribution to her late father’s project. The poignant scenes, depicting growth, challenges, and the embrace of mistakes, resonated deeply. The show concluded with a heartwarming sequence where Julie’s animated self takes flight, symbolizing her journey coming full circle. Like many Disney experiences, “Drawn to Life” left an indelible mark on the audience, prompting reflection on personal growth and shared memories.

In essence, “Drawn to Life” masterfully captured the essence of artistic expression, creativity, and the transformative power of embracing imperfections. As the curtains closed, it was evident that this enchanting performance would be etched in the memories of all who experienced it, embodying the enduring magic of Disney.

SeaWorld Orlando Returns Mother-Daughter Manatee Pair to Florida Waters After More than 17,000+ Hours of Specialized Care

SeaWorld Orlando has successfully returned a mother-daughter manatee pair, Reckless and Churro, back to their natural home in Broward County, Florida. This journey back to the wild comes after a year of incredible care at SeaWorld’s Rescue Center.

Reckless and Churro’s story began in May 2022, when they were rescued in Florida. Reckless, the mother manatee, had been severely injured by a boat, leaving her in critical condition. Her injuries were life-threatening, with a shattered shoulder and exposed deep muscle and tissue. Churro, her baby, was just 1-2 days old, still with her umbilical cord attached, when she came into SeaWorld’s care.

The SeaWorld veterinary team spent over 20 months, providing 12 lifesaving procedures and more than 17,000 hours of specialized care. They worked tirelessly to ensure that Reckless and Churro could stay together. This was essential for Churro’s growth, as baby manatees rely on their mothers for everything from food to survival skills.

Dr. Stacy DiRocco, a senior veterinarian at SeaWorld Orlando, shared that Reckless’s chances of survival were initially very low. But the team’s determination and Reckless’s fighting spirit led to an inspiring recovery. Reckless underwent multiple surgeries, including an amputation, and received intensive medical care, including cold laser therapy and gastroscopy.

Both manatees were fitted with a special tracking belt before their return to the wild. This is crucial for monitoring their health, especially since manatee populations are currently facing significant challenges.

SeaWorld Orlando plays a major role in manatee rescue operations. With the largest capacity in the United States, their Rescue Center can care for up to 60 manatees at a time. They have state-of-the-art facilities and a highly skilled veterinary team. To date, SeaWorld has helped over 1,300 manatees, contributing significantly to manatee conservation efforts.

The successful return of Reckless and Churro to their natural habitat is a beacon of hope. It shows what can be achieved with dedication, expertise, and teamwork in wildlife conservation.

Disney Vacation Club Polynesian Tower Construction

Work is continuing on the new Disney Vacation Club Polynesian Tower ahead of the new towers planned opening later this year. Our latest update really sees the tower start to take shape, with the roof overhang on the exterior of the building is being installed!

The size of the tower is incredibly impressive as it towers over both the Polynesian Village Resort and nearby Grand Floridian Resort.

The roof overhang that is currently being installed is part of a series of wooden touches depicted on the artist rendering of the tower that ties the new building into the theme of the Disney Polynesian Village Resort.

Fantastic news for fans of the iconic “Tron” series! Director Joachim Ronning has officially announced the commencement of filming for the highly anticipated third installment, “Tron Ares.”

SeaWorld Orlando is gearing up to celebrate the 5th Birthday of Sesame Street Land in a HUGE way with a Just For Kids Weekend! This event is shaping up to be an immersive experience for families, packed with entertainment, birthday crafts, and unforgettable moments with beloved characters.

There are a ton of exclusive Meet and Greets on deck for the celebration. Snuffy, the beloved character from Sesame Street, will be on hand to meet fans from January 27th through February 4th. Fans looking for Snuffy should head to the tent next to Cookie Drop at varying times from 11am – 6pm.

Guests can also check out the Birthday Breakfast Bash at SeaFire Grill. The bash is a delightful buffet featuring your favorite Sesame Street characters. Guests can enjoy a wide range of delicious foods, from carved ham to French toast sticks, in a fun-filled setting perfect for families. The bash will be occurring on Saturday, January 27 & Sunday, January 28, then on Saturdays only starting February 3 through April 28th with a start time 9am, The cost of the Breakfast Bash starts at $34.99 for guests aged 10+ and $20 for guests aged 3-9.

Other events on deck for the Birthday Bash include the Sesame Street Birthday Parade. Join Elmo and his friends as they bring music and merriment, creating a festive atmosphere that’s sure to enchant both young and old.
