Bear Captured and Removed from Magic Kingdom Yesterday

In an enchanting turn of events, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom welcomed an unexpected guest yesterday a black bear. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWC) swiftly responded to this unusual situation, ensuring the safety of both the bear and park visitors.

The bear was discovered by vigilant Cast Members before the park’s opening, allowing Disney to take precautionary measures. It was found perched in a tree near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland—a highly uncommon sight for both visitors and park officials.

The FFWC stepped in to handle the situation, and local news outlet WESH provided photos and videos of the bear’s presence. These visuals captured the coordinated efforts to safely capture and relocate the bear to a more suitable habitat.

This memorable day served as a reminder of the diverse wildlife in Florida and the importance of preserving both human and animal safety. As the bear embarked on its journey to a new home, the Magic Kingdom returned to its enchanting normalcy, leaving behind a tale of an unforgettable wild visitor.

Pixar’s Elemental Becomes Most Viewed Disney+ Movie Premiere of 2023

Things are starting to heat up over at Disney+ in the month of September. It has been an incredible month for subscribers to the streaming service. With titles like Ahsoka, The Little Mermaid, and Elemental, Disney fans are being treated to blockbuster releases this fall.

Elemental has achieved the distinction of being the year’s most-watched movie premiere on Disney+. It ranks among the top 10 movie premieres of all time on the platform, garnering an impressive 26.4 million views within its initial five days of streaming.

This cinematic gem, helmed by director Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream, with executive production by Pete Docter, unfolds in the captivating realm of Element City. In this unique world, denizens representing Fire, Water, Earth, and Air coexist harmoniously.

The narrative centers around Ember, a sharp-witted and fiery character voiced by Leah Lewis, whose friendship with the easygoing Wade, brought to life by Mamoudou Athie’s voice, challenges not just her perceptions of their world but also her own identity.

Remarkably, Elemental’s initial five days of streaming have marked it as the most-viewed animated movie premiere since the release of Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red in March 2022. It has also claimed the title of the most-watched Disney+ movie premiere in Latin America, narrowly surpassing Turning Red.

Elemental Records One of the Worst Openings in Pixar History

The film, released in June, has not only enjoyed streaming success but has also excelled in theaters, amassing a global box office revenue of $484 million. It boasts an impressive 93% Rotten Tomatoes Verified Audience Score and an “A” CinemaScore. Notably, domestically, Elemental surpassed expectations by grossing $154 million, a remarkable achievement considering its initial domestic opening weekend earnings of $30 million.

This performance places it second only to Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story (1995) in terms of multiplying its opening weekend revenue. On the international stage, the film achieved immense popularity, with a strong presence in South Korea, where it became Pixar’s most-watched film in the country.

The screenplay for Elemental was crafted by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh, with the story originating from the creative minds of Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel, and Hsueh. Today, Disney+ unveiled a fresh featurette for the highly anticipated second season of Marvel Studios’ “Loki.” Viewers can dive into “The Amazing Loki” with Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Ke Huy Quan, and executive producer Kevin R. Wright as they share the essence of what it means to be a Loki in this season.

In Loki Season 2, the story picks up after the jaw-dropping season finale. Loki embarks on a quest to reclaim the Time Variance Authority which has been taken over by Kang. Together with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a cast of both new and returning characters, Loki embarks on a perilous journey through an ever-expanding and increasingly perilous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth behind possessing free will and a glorious purpose.

The cast of Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 includes Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, along with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan, and Owen Wilson.

Registers Curtained Off in Island Mercantile in the Animal Kingdom

Registers inside Island Mercantile in Disney’s Animal Kingdom have recently been curtained off. The black curtains are where the former beaver-themed cash wrap area was previously.

Guests can still move around the curtains but it’s a tight squeeze in some spots due to display shelves.

The registers are most likely being removed to make room for more merchandise and to help with the flow of traffic through the store. Signs in the area encourage guests to use Mobile Checkout on the My Disney Experience App.

Similar registers in the camel room of the store were previously removed as well. Merchandise has taken over the spot where registers used to be.

Ferry Boats Refurbishment Underway in the Magic Kingdom

The ferry boats that take guests between the Ticket & Transportation Center and Magic Kingdom are currently being refurbished. Sometime soon, guests will be able to embark and disembark directly onto the second level of the boat.

The Richard F. Irvine ferry has been refurbished so guests can exit the top floor directly onto the dock. Walls at the front and back of the boat have been replaced by gates. A staircase on the dock was also constructed for guest access.

This change will greatly help with the flow of guests both onto and off of the ferry. It should also help with safety while the boat is in motion. Guests are not supposed to sit on the stairs inside while the boat is moving, but that’s almost always an issue.

Whatever the reason for this change, it’s a welcome one! Guests will have more options for embarking and debarking the boats and crowding should be less of an issue.

The new retail store in Disney California Adventure, Avengers Vault, is now open! Located in Avengers Campus, this new store features Infinity Saga Relics arriving at the Disneyland Resort for the first time, plus apparel and other fan-favorite merchandise.

Avengers Vault at Disney California Adventure Park

The new Avengers Vault houses some of the most powerful artifacts the Avengers have assembled in their multi-world explorations, including the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Stones. Recruits (guests) can find some of their favorite superhero gear like Iron Man’s Arc Reactor and Loki’s TVA Badge.
