New Ratatouille Ear Headband Now At Disney Springs!
A new Ratatouille Ear Headband is now available at Disney Springs for $34.99! A perfect accessory to remind you that the only limit is your soul every time you wear it.
The ears are beige with a dark blue trim and feature Remy on one side and Emile on the other. The bow is made to look like a piece of cheese and the back of the ears feature the iconic blue and white plaid pattern from Ratatouille.

Pixar Fest Decorations Starting to Show Up Ahead of Festival
Pixar Fest is returning to the Disneyland Resort this year! From April 26 through August 4, 2024, guests can celebrate all things Pixar. While the festival doesn’t start until next month, some decorations have already been put up at the resort.
Three large posters advertising Pixar Fest 2024 have been installed at Disney California Adventure. We saw them in the seating area outside of the Hyperion Theater. One features characters from Monsters Inc., one features characters from Coco, and the third features characters from The Incredibles.
All three posters also feature the festival’s catch phrase, “Celebrating Friendship and Beyond”.
While visiting World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District, we also noticed some new Pixar merchandise displays. They didn’t feature Pixar Fest specific merchandise or decor but there is a lot of Pixar merch available to purchase.
Signs above the displays read “World of Pixar”. There are all kinds of merchandise and souvenirs available. Apparel, Loungefly backpacks, Minnie ears, Mickey ear hats, and more!
We also saw tumblers, stuffed animals, toys, etc.
Pixar Fest will be a celebration of friendship and beyond with exciting entertainment and Pixar pals! We can’t wait for it to begin.

The Donkey Kong Roller Coaster is shaping up to be one of the most exciting attractions in the soon-to-open Epic Universe theme park, set for 2025. The recent photos show that the large gold bricks at the top right of the coaster have had their scaffolding removed, revealing the progress that has been made on this much-anticipated ride.

One photo gives us an aerial view of the current theming of a wall at the roller coaster. The center area has been recently assembled, and it looks like it will be painted soon, adding to the vibrant and immersive world of Donkey Kong. The theming is certainly reminiscent of Donkey Kong!

Another exciting feature spotted in the photos is a barrel that riders will pass through on the lift hill. It’s positioned on a rectangular steel frame, ready to be lifted into place. This detail alone shows how much effort is going into making this ride a unique and thrilling experience, and is another element Donkey Kong fans will recognize from the video games!

What sets the Donkey Kong Roller Coaster apart is its design, which allows the vehicles to seemingly jump over broken track pieces. This mirrors the iconic gameplay of the Donkey Kong video games, where mine carts had to leap over gaps in the tracks. It’s sure to be a heart-pounding feature that makes riders feel like they’re part of the game.

Walls Up around the Haunted Mansion as Construction Begins
Walls have been put up around the Haunted Mansion and the areas surrounding the attraction as construction on the grounds begins! Disney announced in August 2023 that the grounds around the Haunted Mansion would be expanded and that work is now under way.
Concept art is hanging on the walls outside of the attraction. Enhancements are coming to the plaza adjacent to Tiana’s Palace. This area is one that holds a lot of memories and history, and a new, elegant park-like setting will be a place to relax and enjoy the ambiance and live entertainment under the shade of new and historic trees.
Closer to Haunted Mansion the walls show a gallery of original Haunted Mansion concept art by various Imagineers. There are eight pieces, each crafted by a different Imagineer. Seven of them date back to the period spanning from 1952 to 1969, during the attraction’s original development phase. Additionally, there is one piece from the 1994 update.
While in the area, guests might hear work being done on the grounds. When we visited the area recently, we could hear the work as well as see part of a construction vehicle behind the walls.
When the area reopens, each of the gardens will feature unique elements ranging from a water fountain and gazebo to themed statuary and landscaping. In fact, guests will be able to see a new greenhouse where the groundskeepers for the Haunted Mansion grow their plants. The pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will continue to reside on the attraction’s grounds.
A new retail shop is also coming to the Haunted Mansion grounds. This carriage house of the mansion, belonging to Madame Leota, will be a standalone shop.
We’re hoping to see the attraction reopen this fall in time for the Halloween season with its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.

The Anaheim Planning Commission voted last night to approve the Disneyland Forward project. It was approved in a 5-1 vote and now moves to the Anaheim City Council for approval.
Through the DisneylandForward Project proposal, the company aims to invest $1.9 billion in property development over the upcoming decade. This encompasses allocating $40 million to acquire streets from the city of Anaheim, such as Hotel Way, segments of Clementine Street, and Magic Way.
The expansion proposal doesn’t alter Disney’s existing 490-acre (488-hectare) footprint in Southern California or its current building permissions. However, it presents an opportunity for the company to introduce new attractions. This includes utilizing the sprawling 50-acre (20-hectare) parking lot for rides and entertainment options, alongside relocating Disneyland parking to a multistory structure. All of this is planned within the resort’s boundaries, surrounded by residential neighborhoods.
Disney aims to craft enhanced, immersive experiences for tourists, akin to the acclaimed attraction Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, inaugurated in California in 2019. Although the company hasn’t identified specific narratives for the new developments, the concept is to fashion zones reminiscent of “Zootopia” in Shanghai Disneyland. Here, animated animal characters traverse a dynamic cityscape mirroring the film’s setting.
Rachel Alde, Disney’s senior vice president of global development and finance, noted that at present, the original Disneyland in Anaheim lacks sufficient space to undertake large-scale construction without impacting cherished existing attractions, valued by loyal, long-time visitors to the company’s oldest theme park.
The city’s Planning and Building Department staff have recommended approval of Disney’s application.
