The numbers for Q3 reflect a positive momentum in Universal Theme Parks’ operations:
Revenue: For Q3 2023, Universal Theme Parks reported a robust revenue of $2,418 million, marking an increase of 17.2% compared to $2,064 million in Q3 2022.
Operating Expenses: Expenses went up to $1,435 million from $1,244 million in 2022, a rise of 15.4%. This rise in costs can be attributed to the demands of catering to increased guest attendance.
Adjusted EBITDA: Standing at $983 million for Q3 2023, the Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) witnessed an increase of 20.0% from $819 million in the same period of the previous year.
What is driving this stellar performance? Here are some insights highlighted by Comcast:
Bounce Back from COVID-19: The revenue growth was particularly evident in Universal’s international theme parks. These parks had been shackled by COVID-19 restrictions during the prior year. Orlando’s Resilient Performance: Although there was a slight dip in the revenue for Universal’s theme park in Orlando, it’s essential to note that it’s still performing admirably above its pre-pandemic 2019 levels. This suggests that while there may be some shifts in preference or competition, Orlando remains a strong performer for Universal.

Opening Date Announced for Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea
The new Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea is opening on June 6, 2024! All new attractions, restaurants, lobby lounge and gift shop will be open to guests. Fantasy Springs will feature three areas inspired by the films Frozen, Peter Pan and Tangled.
A tower stands in Rapunzel’s Forest where the long-haired princess, Rapunzel, has lived since she was a child. Here you can experience Rapunzel’s “best day ever” on Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival attraction, where Rapunzel falls in love with Flynn Rider on a romantic boat ride to the annual Lantern Festival. When a hungry stomach comes calling after this love-filled adventure, enjoy a meal at The Snuggly Duckling restaurant, reminiscent of the establishment by the same name from the film, in a variety of atmospheric dining areas.
Adventure Awaits on Two “Peter Pan”-themed Attractions
Adventures await throughout Peter Pan’s Never Land where guests can explore a pirate ship, dine in a secret hideaway or encounter pirates. Experience Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, join the Lost Kids as they explore Never Land with Peter Pan and Tinker Bell as well as help rescue John from Captain Hook. Elsewhere, guests can help Tinker Bell deliver parcels and packages to the four seasonal areas of Pixie Hollow on the Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies attraction.

Introducing Phantom, Dracula, Mummy, Frankenstein, Wolfman, and Creature. These inhabitants of Discovery Island are actually herbivores with a penchant for devouring an array of plants and fruits. They have a particular fondness for feasting on pumpkins meticulously carved by their caretakers and graciously provided by the Animal Nutrition team.
Every day, Disney’s team of animal nutritionists meticulously craft personalized diets for over 5,000 birds, mammals, reptiles, and fish throughout Walt Disney World. This commitment to providing top-tier nutrition is an integral aspect of Disney’s comprehensive animal wellness initiative. Whether it’s the majestic hippos or the smallest of spiders, the dedicated staff at the Animal Nutrition Center serve as culinary artisans for the beloved animals. They expertly manage a staggering daily food supply of over 10,000 pounds, which interestingly mirrors the weight of an adult African elephant!
And they’re getting into the Halloween spirit by delivering over 200 pumpkins to animals across Walt Disney World to ensure a wide variety of species get to participate in the festive fall fun.
