Universal Orlando has just unveiled the theme for the sixth haunted house for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights—“Triplets of Terror.” Step into the horrifying birthday bash of the Barmy triplets, notorious for celebrating their special day by gruesomely reenacting their family’s murders. This twisted tale of family tragedy will immerse guests in a world where the line between festive and fatal blurs dramatically.

“Triplets of Terror” joins an already thrilling lineup of haunted houses set to chill and thrill guests this season. These include “Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America,” “Major Sweets Candy Factory,” “Slaughter Sinema 2,” “The Museum: Deadly Exhibits,” and “Goblin’s Feast.” Each house offers a unique narrative, promising to deliver an array of frights to suit every horror aficionado’s taste. All six house announced so far this year have been original themes, leading us to believe the next 4 will be announced on existing IP (with at least one being based on classic Universal Monsters).

Walt Disney Imagineering has officially filed Notice of Commencements for the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, marking the beginning of a significant development. The recently filed documentation details preparations for setting up trailers at a new Imagineering project compound located at the park’s rear, facilitated by Modular Building Systems International. This operational setup is typical of Disney’s large-scale expansions, similar to what was seen in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland and Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While the permits do not specify the exact use of these trailers, they are almost certainly linked to the previously announced “Blue Sky” projects involving Indiana Jones and Encanto in the redevelopment of DinoLand U.S.A. Last year, Disney announced plans to nearly double its capital expenditures in the Parks, Experiences, and Products segment to about $60 billion over the next decade. In September 2023, it was revealed that new experiences inspired by the Academy Award-winning film “Encanto” and the iconic adventurer Indiana Jones would transform DinoLand U.S.A. into a land themed around the tropical Americas.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez Take on TRON at Disney World

Milwaukee Bucks teammates Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez enjoyed a fun day at Walt Disney World Resort with their families on May 17th.

The NBA stars kicked off their visit by riding the high-speed TRON Lightcycle/Run coaster. Afterwards, they explored Magic Kingdom Park together, experiencing classic attractions like Tomorrowland Speedway and Mad Tea Party.

According to Orlando Sentinel, Lopez and twin brother Robin are documented Disney enthusiasts.

“I remember being two years old, my first trip to Disney World, dancing with Chip and Dale: Two people that Rob and I then admired and still admire today,” Brook told People magazine last month. “You know, they share a lot of qualities with us. They look alike, they quarrel sometimes, but they can get along too.”

See the Characters you can Meet During Pixar Fest

Pixar Fest is in full swing at the Disneyland Resort now through August 4! Along with special food and entertainment, special characters are available just for the festival.

Just for Pixar Fest, some special characters are joining other Pixar pals you can see at Disneyland Resort during the year, and here’s your special breakdown – beginning with some rare sightings at the new Pixar Pals Playtime Party.

Characters You May See at Pixar Pals Playtime Party

For the first time at Disneyland Resort, you may encounter Pixar characters Ember and Wade (“Elemental”), as well as Luca and Alberto (“Luca”) at the Pixar Pals Playtime Party at Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park.

You may also spot Ian and Barley (“Onward”) near their van Guinevere at this high-energy fun zone for the entire family.

You can find some of your other favorite Pixar characters, including Joy and Sadness (“Inside Out”); Russell (“Up”); Merida (“Brave”); and Woody, Jessie and Bo Peep (“Toy Story”).

Where to See Other Pixar Characters Throughout Disneyland Resort

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride will Pay Tribute to Military Service Members and Veterans

The Walt Disney Company has a long history of celebrating America’s military service, dating back to founders Walt and Roy O. Disney’s service in World War I. This tradition continues with the upcoming opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World Resort on June 28th!

Remember Tiana’s dad, James, from “The Princess and the Frog”? Turns out, he’s a war hero! The Imagineering crew took this detail and ran with it, adding more to James’ story to honor veterans. They teamed up with the Disney animators to flesh out James’ background.

“We looked for inspiration for how we could best expand on his backstory in a way that honored the military families who visit our parks,” said Ted. “In creating these photos for the attraction, we were inspired by real photos of soldiers who served during WWI to ensure we got it right.”

Charita Carter, who leads the project and comes from a military family herself, thinks this tribute is awesome. “Being raised by military folks is both amazing and tough,” Carter says. “We snuck a little tribute into the ride to honor those families. In the story, you’ll see how proud Tiana is of her dad’s service, just like so many families are proud of their own heroes. My family sure is!”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open in Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort on June 28, 2024. We can’t wait!

Peter Pan Returns to “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland Resort

Fun Facts:

When it originally opened in 1992, “Fantasmic!” was the first nighttime spectacular at a
Disney park to leverage new technology to combine an outdoor spectacular and stage
show while also including two sailing vessels, the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship
Columbia.
In the reimagined battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent, Mickey
gathers all his magical powers, creating colorful swirls of light as sparkling pyrotechnics
bolt from his fingers. Cloaked in her dark gown with her powerful scepter in hand,
Maleficent ascends to a height of 35 feet as she appears to ignite the Rivers of America
in flames.
“Fantasmic!” brings back the iconic “Peter Pan” scene and introduces The Lost Boys as
they join Peter Pan and Wendy to battle Captain Hook on a pirate ship that sails into
view on the Rivers of America. They execute a stunning series of spectacular duels and falls during this swashbuckling sequence.

Each night of the show, more than 100 cast and crew members bring “Fantasmic!” to life for the 25-minute show.
In the show, sequences from some of the most memorable Disney films are projected on
three giant mist screens, measuring 60 feet wide by 30 feet tall to bring iconic scenes to
life on the Rivers of America.
The dazzling water effects include 21 fountains that appear to dance along to the music
and six “whale tails” that shoot water high in the air towards the audience during
dramatic moments.
During key show moments, a pair of lighting towers dramatically rise from underground
to reach a height of 40 feet in less than a minute!

Guests can view “Fantasmic!” in select standby viewing areas along Rivers of America and may begin queuing no earlier than two hours before showtime.

This marks the fifth house announced so far this season, with all houses so far being original themes. The Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America house is described as follows: ¡Ten cuídado! With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be asking for piedad from these three terrifying monsters: the blood-sucking Tlahuelpuchi, owl-faced witch La Lechuza and bone-ripping El Silbón.
