Disney World Teases More Announcements to Come for Frontierland Update in Magic Kingdom

Yesterday, Disney shared new details about Country Bear Musical Jamboree and also teased more updates coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Another attraction a little down yonder in Frontierland is also being reimagined and you can’t believe the incredible detail going into this all-new experience.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a musical adventure inspired by the beloved story and characters from the fan-favorite film. Picking up where the film left off, guests will join Princess Tiana, jazz-loving alligator Louis and others on an adventure through the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome.

You may have seen that Disney recently dug a little deeper into the story behind the latest addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — a custom handcrafted weathervane by Louisiana’s master blacksmith, Darryl Reeves, now visible to guests strolling past Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom.

When you visit Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Disney wants you to feel like you are taking a trip down the Louisiana Bayou in a way only Disney can bring to life. The weathervane does just that and its installation is another important milestone cast members and Imagineers are celebrating ahead of the new adventure opening for guests later this year.

Along with the details about Country Bear Musical Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Disney also teased that more announcements would be coming. “But hold your horses, we’re not done yet. We have a lot of growth and investment planned for our theme parks in the coming years and look forward to sharing more announcements about Frontierland … so y’all come back now, ya hear?”

Unveiled for the first time at D23 Expo 2022, the expansion for Magic Kingdom, known as “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” has unveiled numerous potential Blue Sky additions. These include themed lands inspired by Pixar’s “Coco” and “Encanto,” as well as a dedicated area for Disney Villains.

During the Destination D23 event in September 2023, Bruce Vaughn, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, graced the stage to provide updates on this ambitious project. He likened its scale to that of Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Vaughn emphasized that this expansion will mark the largest in the history of Magic Kingdom.

We don’t know what exactly will be announced next in regards to Frontierland but we can’t wait to find out!

Disney Shares Update on Country Bear Musical Jamboree in the Magic Kingdom

Saddle up, folks, because it’s time for an exciting update on what’s in store for Walt Disney World’s Frontierland in 2024 and beyond, with a special focus on the Country Bear Musical Jamboree!

Country Bear Musical Jamboree is set to take center stage this summer, promising knee-slapping and toe-tapping fun for all. For those who may have been off trottin’ through the wild west and missed the latest news, the beloved Country Bears are gearing up to present a brand-new show that pays homage to the lively Opry-style performances of Nashville.

To prepare for the show, Country Bear Jamboree will close temporarily beginning Jan. 27th and will reopen later this summer.

This revamped Jamboree will be filled with delightful easter eggs from start to finish, including a nod to a familiar tune that fans may fondly recall. Disney foodies! Check out this Disney Eats Collection we found at Walt Disney World featuring the most delicious and iconic snacks at Disney Parks.

For apparel we found a button up shirt with an all over pattern of snacks like a Mickey pretzel, Mickey ice cream bar, pizza, dole whip and popcorn! We also found a black crop top with a Mickey icon made of delicious snacks and Walt Disney World logo.

For kids, a pink hoodie with an all over pattern of snacks is also available, super cute.

The Incredibles Contemporary Resort Collection Will Make You Feel Like A Super Hero!

We recently spotted The Incredibles Contemporary Resort Collection at Walt Disney World filled with bold colors and incredible artwork! You can find all of these products at the resort with some available online at shopDisney at the moment.

For the fashionistas, this satchel bag features The Incredibles ready to save the world on one side and Contemporary Resort façade on the other plus the resort logo. The colors are so much for the summer with orange, yellow and blue hues.

The ear headband is super fun too because it changes color when you are out in the sun! It features Violet on one ear and “Incredible Journey” on the other, the back features the Disney’s Contemporary Resort logo and in the middle, the iconic monorail takes over ready to take you on an incredible journey.

There’s also a sleeveless dress with an all over pattern of The Incredibles family faces and geometric shapes that look like the Contemporary Resort building.

Tornado Watch Issued for Walt Disney World

Guests visiting Walt Disney World today will want to keep an eye on the sky’s. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Central Florida, including the area that Walt Disney World calls home.

The Tornado Watch coincides with a wind advisory and is in effect until 9 p.m. The Orlando Sentinel notes the storm that is moving into Central Florida has already caused damaging winds and spawned several tornadoes as it moved across the state’s panhandle.

The National Weather Service releases a tornado watch when tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. The watch would be upgraded to a tornado warning when a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar.

Ahsoka Season 2 in Development With Creator Dave Filoni

Season 2 of “Ahsoka” is currently in the works with creator Dave Filoni, as confirmed by Lucasfilm. This update coincides with the announcement of the upcoming “Star Wars” film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” directed by Jon Favreau, revealed on Tuesday morning.

The announcement highlighted that “The Mandalorian & Grogu” will take the lead in Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature development, with contributions from directors such as Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni. Filoni, in addition to his involvement in other projects, is actively developing Season 2 of “Ahsoka.”

Rosario Dawson portrayed the beloved Jedi Ahsoka Tano in Season 1 of “Ahsoka,” which concluded on Oct. 3. The storyline follows Ahsoka’s quest to save the galaxy from the new threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn, emerging after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Dawson introduced Ahsoka Tano to live-action in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 and also made appearances in “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Filoni, the creator of “Ahsoka,” has also contributed to projects like “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett,” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” The show’s executive producers include Filoni, Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Filoni, along with Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa, directed episodes for the inaugural season.

The series introduced live-action versions of Sabine, Hera, Thrawn, and Ezra, prominent characters from the animated “Star Wars Rebels” TV series. Hayden Christensen made a return to his role as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former Jedi master. Season 1 also featured Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elspeth, and David Tennant as the droid Huyang.

Among the upcoming “Star Wars” series on Disney+, there are “The Acolyte” and Season 2 of “Andor.” Filoni is currently directing a feature film that is anticipated to conclude the storylines of his TV series.

Bayview Gifts, a popular spot within the resort, is now home to two new stunning murals that pay homage to the art style of Mary Blair, a legend in the world of Disney art.

Mary Blair, renowned for her vibrant colors and whimsical designs, left an indelible mark on Disney’s visual storytelling. Her influence continues to inspire artists and enchant Disney enthusiasts worldwide. These new additions at the Contemporary Resort are a fitting tribute to her legacy, blending her iconic style with modern elements

A particularly special element of the new artwork is the inclusion of the resort’s famous five-legged goat, a creature that harkens back to Mary Blair’s original tall mural in the center of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This iconic goat, with its imaginative design, bridges the past and present, connecting this new artwork to the rich history of the resort.

Two distinct and beautiful murals can be found in Bayview Gifts. Featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, iconic Disney World elements like the monorail, and the 5 legged goat, the murals must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.

The wall between these two murals features similar artwork inspired by Mary Blair, displayed on illuminated panels. These panels not only brighten the space but also serve as a bridge between the two murals, creating a cohesive artistic experience for visitors.
