Disney’s Beauty and the Beast North American Tour Coming in June 2025
Today, Disney Theatrical Group, led by Andrew Flatt, Anne Quart, and Thomas Schumacher, unveiled plans for the upcoming reimagined North American tour of “Beauty and the Beast,” set to debut in June 2025.
“We’ve heard from audiences for three decades now that Beauty and the Beast has touched them in a profound way – these characters, songs and this sweeping story,” said Thomas Schumacher, Chief Creative Officer, Disney Theatrical Group. “How proud we are, then, to bring this refreshed and human take on the show – with the scale and spectacle the title deserves – to longtime fans and an entirely new generation. This Beauty is for them.”
Based on the Academy Award®-winning feature film, Beauty and the Beast is one of the most beloved stage musicals of the last half-century. The Tony Award®-winning Broadway production ran for 13 years (1994 – 2007) and remains one of the Top 10 longest-running Broadway shows. Worldwide, there have been productions in 37 countries, seen by more than 25 million people and translated into 17 different languages.
The new tour will hold technical rehearsals and launch in Schenectady, NY at Proctors in June 2025, prior to the official opening in Chicago, IL at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in July, followed by a stop in Minneapolis, MN at the Orpheum Theatre in August. Casting and the anticipated two-year tour route will be announced at a later date.
Reuniting to create this new production are members of the original Tony Award®-winning artistic team, including composer Alan Menken (who wrote the film’s beloved score with the late lyricist Howard Ashman), lyricist Tim Rice, book writer Linda Woolverton, with direction and choreography by Matt West, scenic design by Stanley A. Meyer, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward and lighting design by Natasha Katz.
“We are thrilled to have once again gathered this world-class creative team on Beauty and the Beast, under the masterful direction of original team member Matt West. Together they created a beloved show in 1994, and today they’re telling that story with all the charm and romance of the original production, and newly resonant for today’s audiences. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has once again become a beacon of hope for endangered species with the birth of adorable cotton-top tamarin triplets. These tiny new arrivals have been melting hearts and drawing attention to the plight of their species, which is critically endangered.
The birth of the triplets was announced on Instagram by Dr Mark Penning, Disney’s Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment. The cotton-top tamarin, a small monkey native to the tropical forests of northwestern Colombia, is known for its distinctive fluffy white hair on its head. The birth of these triplets is particularly significant given the critical status of their species, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts.
Over the past several days, the triplets have been bonding closely with their family. Remarkably, both the mother and father play an active role in caring for the young. In the wild, this cooperative parenting is essential for the survival of the infants. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can observe this unique family dynamic, as the parents take turns carrying their babies on their backs, a practice that will continue until the triplets are around 14 weeks old.
Visitors to Disney’s Animal Kingdom can witness these tiny wonders and learn more about them on Discovery Island. This experience not only provides an unforgettable sight but also raises awareness about the importance of protecting such vulnerable species.

Meilin & Ming Lee are now meeting and greeting guests near The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, across from Embarcadero Gifts.
A vibrant red pergola forms the background, featuring a prominent red panda medallion at its center, adorned with two red pandas. Surrounding it are smaller medallions showcasing cartoon red panda faces. Within the pergola, small paper lanterns dangle, while large yellow ones adorn the roof in front.

A new King Mickey Mouse Plush is now available at the UK Pavilion in Epcot for $34.99, probably to keep the merchandise updated with the changes of the monarchy now that Charles is king.
The Mickey plush features a blue ensemble with gold details and a red cloak with gold embroidered details and white fur trim. His crown is also red with shiny gold details and gemstones.

First Look at Mickey and Minnie Mouse Bahamian-Inspired Outfits for Disney Cruise Line
Mickey and Minnie Mouse are set to showcase new, specially designed outfits created by renowned Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett during their visits to Disney Cruise Line’s latest island destination, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera Island. Theodore’s unique designs draw inspiration from the vibrant spirit of Junkanoo, a signature Bahamian festival known for its lively music and colorful parades.
The creations by Theodore, who has dressed Miss Universe contestants, celebrities, brides, and more, reflect the cultural richness and vivid hues of island life. As Disney Lookout Cay opens its doors in June 2024, Mickey and Minnie’s attire will take center stage, embodying the essence of Bahamian culture. These designs will be part of a broader collection featuring vibrant works of art by local creators, contributing to the immersive experience at the new island destination.

Hey Disney Annual Passholders, we have some exciting Disney Parks news for you! Walt Disney World just announced additional Good to Go days, allowing you to return to the days of being able to visit a park without a park pass reservation!
Besides the already announced Good To Go days on January 16, 18, 23, 24, 28, and February 1, you can now mark your calendars for January 25, 31, and February 4, 6. If you’re wondering what ‘Good to Go’ days are, they’re specific days identified by Disney where Annual Passholders can visit the parks without needing to make a park pass reservation.
While park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets, they are still needed for Annual Passholders looking to visit a park before 2 P.M. (or any time on Saturday and Sunday at Magic Kingdom). Good to Go days negate the need for a park reservation, allowing Annual Passholders to just show up at the parks (blockout dates due still apply).
We are excited to see the addition of more Good to Go Days, and hope they are the beginning of the end for park reservations at Walt Disney World!

Uncle Nearest Whiskey is both a Black and women-owned and operated business. Begun in 2017, Uncle Nearest Whiskey has become one of the leading whiskey brands in its industry. The brand’s namesake Is Nathan “Nearest” Green, who is believed to have created the Lincoln County Process, a hallmark of Tennessee whiskey, in which whiskey is filtered through sugar-maple charcoal and then aged in charred oak barrels. Green is credited with teaching this technique to Jack Daniel, who hired Green as the first main distiller for the company and on record in the United States.
