Universal Officially Names New UK Theme Park Universal United Kingdom Resort
Comcast NBCUniversal has officially shared major new details regarding its highly anticipated expansion across the pond, revealing the official name and a projected opening timeline for its first-ever European destination.
The brand-new project will be called Universal United Kingdom Resort and is currently scheduled to welcome its very first guests in 2031.
The massive development will be located on a 540-acre site in Bedford, England, which sits roughly 45 minutes outside of London. Universal selected the location due to its excellent rail connectivity to the capital city, making it easily accessible for both local residents and international travelers visiting from across Europe.
According to the official announcement from Universal Destinations and Experiences, the sprawling complex will feature a world-class theme park packed with immersive lands, innovative attractions, and story-driven experiences. In addition to the theme park, the location will feature a 500-room hotel alongside a dedicated retail, dining, and entertainment district similar to CityWalk.
Company executives expressed massive enthusiasm for the milestone project, noting that the United Kingdom represents an incredibly attractive market for the brand. Leadership emphasized a long-term strategy focused on bringing Universal’s signature immersive storytelling to entirely new audiences internationally.
This major announcement follows more than two years of extensive due diligence, site evaluations, and community engagement in the Bedford region. Construction on the massive European resort is expected to begin soon.
Universal United Kingdom Resort joins a rapidly growing lineup of major global projects for the company. The announcement follows the massive success of Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, which just wrapped up its highly profitable first year of operations, as well as the upcoming grand opening of Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, scheduled for July 1.
Stay tuned for more updates as construction begins on this historic new European theme park destination.
New Woody & Jessie Stage Show Debuts at Jessie’s Roundup
A brand-new stage show has officially arrived at The Diamond Horseshoe, marking the historic return of live entertainment to the venue for the first time in over 20 years! The festive addition, titled Jessie’s Roundup, debuted as a headlining part of the “Cool Kids’ Summer” celebration at Walt Disney World, helping eager parkgoers count down to the highly anticipated theatrical release of Toy Story 5.
The Jessie’s Roundup stage show is split into two distinct, action-packed portions. The first half features a live, guitar-playing singer alongside everyone’s favorite trusty steed, Bullseye. The second act dials up the energy even higher with a spectacular dancing and jump-rope routine starring Toy Story legends Woody and Jessie themselves.
Right as the fun kicks off, Jessie welcomes the crowd by saying, “We may all be strangers now, but when we’re done we’ll be friends, each and every one!” This line serves as a brilliant, heartwarming Easter egg for long-time Disney fans. It directly pays homage to the legendary Golden Horseshoe Saloon Revue and Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Revue shows of the past, which famously opened with the song “Hello Everybody.” The original lyrics playfully noted, “If you are a stranger, just say howdy stranger, we will soon be friends that way.”
The show leans heavily into interactive entertainment, featuring performers and characters dancing to beloved tracks from the Toy Story film franchise. Woody and Jessie even step off the stage and head directly into the crowd to mingle with the audience.
A few minutes into the performance, the stage is taken over by the incredibly talented Roundup Ropers, who wow the audience with a fast-paced, high-flying jump-rope routine. The ropers then bring the fun down to the floor, inviting children and the young at heart to jump in and show off their own skills.
To close out the festivities, Woody and Jessie return to the spotlight to teach the entire audience the steps to the “Horseshoe Stomp.” The performance wraps up on a perfect, nostalgic note as the duo invites the entire theater to join in on a massive, heartwarming sing-along of the ultimate Pixar anthem, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
According to DTVA News, Disney is officially moving forward with a brand-new Inspector Gadget live-action film, with comedy legend Will Ferrell currently in talks to headline the project.
The live-action reboot has been quietly in development at Disney since 2019. Saturday Night Live alumni Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell were previously attached to pen the script, while filmmaker Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home) is on board to direct the bumbling cybernetic detective’s next big-screen adventure.
The iconic Inspector Gadget franchise first captured the imagination of audiences with the classic animated television series that originally aired from 1983 to 1985, produced by DIC Entertainment. While WildBrain currently owns the rights to the overall intellectual property, Disney holds the exclusive cinematic rights to the character. This wouldn’t be the studio’s first time bringing the bumbling cyborg to life; Disney previously produced the 1999 live-action theatrical film starring Matthew Broderick, followed by a direct-to-video sequel in 2003 with French Stewart stepping into the trench coat.
The "INSPECTOR GADGET" live-action reboot is moving forward at Walt Disney Studios with Sean Anders (Apple TV "Spirited", Paramount "Daddy's Home") as director.

Space Ranger Float Lands at Auntie Gravity’s and It’s a Refreshing Winner
The new Space Ranger Float has landed at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland, and it’s easily one of the best new summer treats at Magic Kingdom!
This float combines DOLE Whip Lime and vanilla soft-serve swirled together over Sprite, then tops everything off with green apple popping pearls, colorful sprinkles, and a chocolate medallion. The result is a sweet, tart, and incredibly refreshing drink that feels tailor-made for a hot Florida afternoon.
The lime DOLE Whip is the star of the show. It delivers a bright citrus flavor without being overpowering, while the vanilla soft-serve smooths everything out with a creamy finish. The Sprite adds just enough fizz to keep the float light and refreshing rather than heavy.
The green apple pearls provide little bursts of flavor throughout the drink. While the apple taste leans a bit artificial, they add a fun texture that fits perfectly with the playful space-themed presentation.
If you’re a fan of DOLE Whip, this is an easy recommendation. The combination of lime, vanilla, and Sprite works remarkably well, creating a float that’s both refreshing and flavorful without becoming overly sweet.
Chip and Co Rating: 6/7 🚀💚🍦
Perfect for: DOLE Whip fans, lime lovers, and anyone looking for a refreshing summer treat in Magic Kingdom.
Skip it if: You don’t enjoy citrus flavors or fruit-flavored candies.
New Filing Suggests Disney Lakeshore Lodge Will Be an All-DVC Resort
A newly filed legal document may have revealed some major details about Disney Vacation Club’s next Walt Disney World resort. According to a recently submitted Resort Use Plan, Disney Lakeshore Lodge appears poised to become a primarily, and possibly entirely, Disney Vacation Club property when it opens along Bay Lake in 2027.
The filing lists 45,552 timeshare weeks for the project. Based on standard Disney Vacation Club calculations, industry watchers estimate that translates to roughly 876 vacation villas. If those numbers hold true, the resort would contain significantly more DVC inventory than many fans originally expected when the project was first announced as Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge.
For years, many Disney fans speculated that the resort would operate as a mixed-use property similar to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, offering both traditional hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. However, the latest filing suggests Lakeshore Lodge could lean heavily toward DVC accommodations, potentially making it one of Walt Disney World’s most exclusive resort destinations for members.
The documents also reveal that Lakeshore Lodge has been designated as a Restricted Management Entity. For Disney Vacation Club members, that means resale contracts would likely carry booking restrictions similar to those already in place at Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Owners who purchase points on the resale market would face limitations on where those points can be used throughout the Disney Vacation Club system.
Patriotic Mickey and Minnie Window Displays Return to Main Street U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom
As America gears up for its 250th birthday celebration, Magic Kingdom is already getting dressed for the occasion. New patriotic window displays featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse have appeared along Main Street U.S.A., adding a festive splash of red, white, and blue to the park ahead of Independence Day.
Located in the green-framed display windows outside the Emporium, the charming scenes feature vintage-inspired versions of Disney’s favorite couple surrounded by patriotic décor. Mickey is decked out in a classic green-and-pink outfit complete with a straw hat and a patriotic judge’s ribbon medal.
Around him, guests will find summertime sporting equipment, a gold trophy, and even a humorous scorecard showcasing competitions won by familiar Disney pals including Goofy, Pete, and Horace Horsecollar.
Across the way, Minnie Mouse takes center stage in a floral-filled display bursting with patriotic flair. Surrounded by red, white, and blue flowers, flags, parasols, and decorative fans, Minnie sports a matching medal and elegant summer attire that perfectly captures the nostalgic Americana theme. The displays pair beautifully with the patriotic bunting that has already been hung throughout Main Street U.S.A.
