Disney YNSD is Set to Debut at D

A First Look at the New Brand Designed for Detail-Oriented Disney Parks Fans

For generations, Disney fans have found ways to bring the stories they love into their everyday lives. At Walt Disney Imagineering, Disney is always exploring new ways for that connection to feel personal, expressive, and unexpected. Disney .YNSD is the latest expression of that idea.

What is the Story Behind .YNSD?

Making its debut at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa, .YNSD is inspired by the same curiosity, craft, and attention to detail that shape Disney experiences around the world. Each collection begins with an idea, a place, a texture, or a moment of inspiration, which is then translated through thoughtful design, hidden references, and unexpected connections.

Where does the name come from? The name .YNSD (pronounced yen-sid) is the reversal of “Disney” without vowels, as well as a direct reference to Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey’s mentor, Yen Sid, from Disney’s Fantasia.

This brand is not about placing a familiar graphic on a garment. Instead, it takes a design-first approach—using materials, textures, silhouettes, and construction details to carry the story. Some references are immediate; others reveal themselves only over time. The result is apparel and accessories made for everyday life—pieces that feel considered, versatile, and unmistakably Disney to those who know where to look.

Collection Highlights

1. Collection 1: The Debut Collection

The first .YNSD collection establishes the brand’s design language through clean silhouettes, modern essentials, and a fresh perspective on Disney-inspired apparel.

  • The Vibe: Craftsmanship, versatility, and understated design across tees, crewnecks, outerwear, and accessories.
  • The Details: Tonal graphics, embroidered details, custom trims, and utility-inspired accents create pieces that move naturally from a creative workspace into the everyday world.

  • Hidden Discoveries: Curiosity is rewarded throughout the collection. Custom patches, specialty finishes, and photochromic inks reveal graphics when exposed to sunlight, while other references are quietly integrated into the construction rather than placed front and center.

2. Collection 2: Inspired by Haunted Mansion Parlor

The second .YNSD collection draws from the rich atmosphere and intricate design language of the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

Rather than reproducing familiar characters or attraction iconography, the collection looks deeper—to the details that give the space its unique identity:

  • Victorian Influence: Victorian textiles, layered patterns, ornate flourishes, and hidden motifs reinterpreted across apparel, accessories, and lifestyle pieces.
  • Custom Patternwork: At the center of the collection is a custom pattern inspired by decorative details found throughout the lounge, serving as a unifying thread across multiple items.

Apparitions in the Details: Look closely and you will find ghostly imagery concealed within floral arrangements, subtle symbols worked into the artwork, and atmospheric references. Like the Haunted Mansion Parlor itself, the collection keeps revealing new details the longer you spend with it.

Experience it Live at D23

Disney .YNSD will make its public debut at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where fans will have their very first opportunity to shop Collections 1 and 2.

  • Event Tickets: Tickets for D23 start at $49.
  • Where to Buy: Get yours today at D23.com.

Whether you’re hunting for hidden ghostly motifs or basking in the sun to reveal secret graphics, Disney .YNSD offers fans an unprecedented way to wear the magic—one subtle, beautifully crafted detail at a time.

Haunted Mansion Gravestones Moved as Construction Progresses at Magic Kingdom

Foolish mortals, beware—a few iconic residents of the Haunted Mansion have quietly moved into new final resting places!

As refurbishment and surrounding construction work continues across Magic Kingdom, select construction walls have officially been removed from the queue’s landscaped graveyard plot near the foyer doors. Upon their removal, keen-eyed guests immediately noticed that several famous headstones have been rearranged.

Who Shifted Resting Places?

The family plot located directly beside the mansion’s foyer entrance—just beneath the brick walls and iron fencing—received a subtle layout shuffle:

  • Uncle Theodore & Cousin Algernon: The headstone for Uncle Theodore (famous as one of the Singing Busts inside) and the tall, rounded monument for Cousin Algernon have both moved forward in the queue, taking a more prominent position near the front of the plot.
  • “Our Dreamy Dorothea”: The tall monument for Dorothea has shifted a few feet closer to the foyer entrance and is now angled slightly more toward passing guests.
  • “A Man Named Martin”: Previously visible near the back-left corner with the epitaph “The lights went out on this old spark,” Martin’s grave is no longer in sight—suggesting it was either moved further into the landscaping or temporarily removed.

Resting peacefully in their original spots are Cousin Huet (“Rest in peace Cousin Huet, we all know you didn’t do it”), Wathel R. Bender, and the shared pedestal for Madame Carlotta and Madame Renatta.

Ongoing Work Around Gracey Manor

While construction walls are slowly coming down along the facade and queue, temporary wooden boards currently cover sections of the concrete pavement leading to the foyer doors. These narrow walkway covers indicate that crews are likely continuing behind-the-scenes utility work during non-park hours.

Cinderella Castle Stage Gets a Refresh at Magic Kingdom

If you’ve taken a walk down Main Street, U.S.A. recently, you might have noticed some work underway right in front of Magic Kingdom’s iconic centerpiece! Fresh off the heels of Cinderella Castle’s full exterior transformation back to its classic storybook gray, blue, and cream color scheme, Disney is now turning its attention directly to the Cinderella Castle Stage.

Crews have officially begun repainting and refurbishing the stage floor and surrounding performance platforms.

Visitors looking toward the stage can see the active prep work underway:

  • Fresh Gray Base: The front section of the stage floor, as well as the side steps and elevated platforms, have already received a solid, vibrant new coat of light gray paint.
  • Scuff Removal & Floor Prep: The back half of the stage floor has been prepped and buffed out to eliminate scuffs and wear from months of high-energy daily performances.
  • Refreshed Grid Lines: Crisp black guidelines are being systematically repainted to outline the floor panels, giving the entire performance surface a sharp, clean finish.

Former Buzz Lightyear Meet & Greet Receives Fresh Look

Changes are quietly continuing across Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom! A former character meet-and-greet spot has officially debuted a brand-new look—swapping out dedicated Toy Story details for a streamlined galactic aesthetic.

Located directly underneath the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover track (and adjacent to the exit of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin), this space was originally best known as Buzz Lightyear’s primary greeting area.

While the space has seen various characters drop by in recent years, the visual backdrop has now undergone a noticeable refresh:

  • Futuristic Window View: The former toy-inspired paneling has been replaced with a large window-style graphic depicting planets, stars, and deep space.
  • Streamlined Accents: The surrounding metallic frame and columns have received a fresh coat of bright blue trim.
  • Detail Removals: The faux 3D button decals and the battery-themed floor tiles from the original Buzz Lightyear design have both been removed in favor of a cleaner metallic finish.

Interestingly, the overhead LED sign above the backdrop currently still reads “Space Ranger Map,” keeping a subtle nod to Star Command intact for now.

Buzz Lightyear hasn’t met regularly in this specific cutout spot for some time (often appearing on the nearby Tomorrowland stage or roaming the land instead).

Instead, this nook—along with the adjacent silver garage door location—frequently hosts friends like Stitch as well as Chip ‘n’ Dale in their sci-fi gear. The updated, broader space theme allows the location to feel far more versatile for whichever intergalactic characters pop in throughout the day.

  • The Iconic Funnel Taking Shape: Photos show the team gathered beneath the enormous, unfinished red-primer funnel inside the building hall, complete with the raised Disney Cruise Line emblem already molded onto its side.
  • Steel Cutting Progress: The leadership team also posed holding newly cut steel components, each stamped with hull number 723—the official shipyard designation for the Disney Believe.

Universal has scheduled the Broadway-style production to be unavailable from September 15 through September 20, 2026. While the closure lasts less than a week, the resort has not announced what work will be taking place during the downtime. The show is expected to return following the brief refurbishment.

Located in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, The Untrainable Dragon follows Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and Gobber as they work together to unravel the mystery surrounding a mysterious new dragon. The approximately 20-minute production combines elaborate sets, music, special effects, and breathtaking puppetry to bring the beloved DreamWorks franchise to life.

The highlight for many guests comes when a full-sized Toothless soars over the audience during the performance. The incredible puppet weighs more than 1,150 pounds and boasts an impressive wingspan of nearly 27 feet, creating one of the most memorable moments anywhere in Epic Universe.

Bourbon Steak at Walt Disney World Dolphin Remains Closed Following Kitchen Fire

Guests hoping to dine at Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina during an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation will need to make other plans. The signature steakhouse at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel remains closed nearly a month after a kitchen fire, and hotel officials say it will stay that way for the foreseeable future while repairs are completed.

Bourbon Steak at Walt Disney World Dolphin Closed Indefinitely After Kitchen Fire

The fire occurred on June 25, prompting the evacuation of Bourbon Steak and portions of the Dolphin Hotel. At the time, Disney confirmed the fire was contained to the restaurant, noting that while photos showed a significant amount of smoke, the building’s ventilation system was doing exactly what it was designed to do by pushing smoke outside. No damage was reported to the hotel itself.

Guests with existing reservations are now receiving emails from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort informing them that Bourbon Steak is temporarily unavailable and assisting them with reservations at one of the resort’s many other dining locations. The resort’s website also advises guests that the restaurant is temporarily closed, encouraging visitors to enjoy one of its other 22 dining venues, including bluezoo, Il Mulino Trattoria, Kimonos, Amare, and Rosa Mexicano while repairs continue.

Although the restaurant’s website promises it is “Temporarily Closed, Reopening Soon,” reservations are currently unavailable until at least September 16, suggesting that is the earliest possible reopening window. Of course, that date could change depending on the progress of repairs.
