The Story of the Fantasy Springs Hotel

Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a magical spring where a sprit lived. While the spirit fed beautiful gardens, she was curious and flowed great distances where she encountered enchanted stories.

Upon returning home, the spirit used her powers to sculpt stone, branch and bank into intricate shapes resembling those she met. As she bubbled and sparkled in pools, fountains, and waterfalls, the spirit often sang melodies discovered on her many journeys.

One day a Duchess, who loved travel and adventure, discovered the beauty of the springs. Wandering along the rivers and streams of the springs, the Duchess found herself transported to magical places.ย
The Duchess loved the enchanted springs so much that she built a little summer home nearby.

As more of her friends visited, the Duchess built a grand palace to host them all. Even today, should you follow the water flowing from the springs source, you would come to fabled kingdoms found in storybook tales.

This hotel is situated near the magical springs in Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea. It offers an immersive accommodation experience at the Resort where guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the Park.

Guests can choose from two โ€œchateausโ€ for accommodations based on their preferences.

All guest rooms have a balcony or terrace with a view of the Park.ย During your stay at the hotel, you will be able to enjoy the world of Fantasy Springs both during the day and at night.

Beautiful adornments, including three-dimensional moldings and gilded cartouches,ย will add even more elegance to your stay.

There are a total of 419 guest rooms in Fantasy Chateau. The interiors of the guest roomsโ€”from the wallpaper to the lampsโ€”are decorated with characters such as “Rapunzel” and “Bambi,” and feature floral and botanical motifs. Guest rooms are divided into four sides according to their location: Bay Area Side, Hotel Entrance Side, Rose Court Side, and Springs Side.

What do you think of the new Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel?

The eye-catching pink and purple mural with its blooming flowers and golden suns that graces the “Tangled”-themed women’s restroom is getting some love! We spotted fresh paint being applied to the ground near the entrance, hinting at a sparkling update for this magical spot.

Right now, the newly painted area shows a base coat of rich purple with some golden suns and red accents. This section will likely be embellished with more details soon, just like the original vibrant floral design.

Disney’s X-Wing from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge now on display at National Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum has acquired a unique piece of aviation history: a Boeing CV2 Cargo Air Vehicle (CAV). This drone holds the distinction of being the first large, electric, vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to be flown commercially in the US.

The CAV gained fame during its starring role at the opening of Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction. Boeing partnered with Walt Disney Imagineering to transform two CV2s into X-wing fighters, complete with body shells, for a spectacular flyover. This one-of-a-kind aircraft, a gift from both Boeing and Walt Disney Imagineering, will now be on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.

โ€œWhile lightweight delivery drones are being tested at a number of locations around the nation, the development of heavier vertical takeoff and landing cargo drones for military and commercial use is one of the most promising areas of autonomous aircraft development,โ€ said Roger Connor, vertical flight curator at the museum. โ€œThe Boeing Cargo Air Vehicle was the first of these allowed to perform a commercial flight in the United Statesโ€”in this instance, carrying a Star Wars X-wing shell that was used at Walt Disney World.”

Boeing started developing the CAV in 2017. These fully electric, unmanned vehicles were designed to haul cargo weighing up to 500 pounds. They served as flying test labs, helping Boeing explore the potential and challenges of using electric propulsion, advanced batteries, and autonomous flight. Fast forward to December 2019: Boeing teamed up with Walt Disney. During a special event at Disney World, two CAVs transformed into X-wings with the help of special effects. Ultraviolet spotlights made the drone bodies disappear, leaving behind only the illusion of iconic Star Wars starfighters soaring through the night sky.

museum

โ€œAs Disney Imagineers, we leverage new and emerging technology in service of the story-driven experiences we create,โ€ said Scott Trowbridge, senior creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering. โ€œOur work to bring a โ€˜realโ€™ X-wing to the skies above Star Wars: Galaxyโ€™s Edge for the opening of a new attraction was not only spectacular, but a moment representative of the immersive Star Wars experience coming to life.โ€

This X-wing-clad Boeing CAV boasts a wingspan of 6.2 meters (20.2 feet) and gets its power from 128-kilowatt electric motors. It takes flight in the museum world starting May 3rd, joining the vertical flight collection on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center.
