Joining her are a colorful cast of witches, each with their own quirks and magical abilities. “The story highlights the power of community. These characters are loners, and through working together, they’ll rediscover their inner strength!”
Hahn describes Agatha as a “twisted ringleader” at the start, exuding confidence even without her powers. “She has to project strength to these other witches,” she says, hinting at the amusing chaos that ensues among the coven members. Schaeffer adds that while there’s plenty of snark, a deep respect runs beneath it all.
As Agatha navigates this wacky adventure, she realizes her biggest hurdle is—wait for it—herself! “She’s always looking for shortcuts and instant gratification, which gets her into all sorts of trouble,” Schaeffer notes.
Just like its predecessor, Agatha All Along loves to play with practical effects. “Kevin Feige was really excited about the practical side of this project,” Schaeffer reveals. “Getting the green light for practical effects felt extra special!” Inspired by classic films like The Wizard of Oz and The Princess Bride, the team aimed to create a rich, tactile experience that feels real and magical.
Schaeffer reminisces about the magic of practical effects from her work on WandaVision. “Walking on the actual Witches’ Road brought so much depth to the cast’s performances,” she states. Hahn can’t wait for viewers to enjoy the show’s blend of humor, surprises, and genuine scares. “I’m ready for audiences to laugh, be shocked, and realize that true power comes from working together,” she says, reflecting on Agatha’s growth.
