Disney’s Animal Kingdom has introduced a delightful new dessert inspired by “Moana” called the “Fear the Kakamora Brownie Mousse,” available at Creature Comforts, the park’s Starbucks location, for $6.79.
This new treat features a chocolate brownie dusted with peppermint powdered sugar, topped with a chocolate coconut piñata filled with coconut pineapple mousse, and decorated with purple and green frosting and a white chocolate Kakamora medallion. The brownie is more cake-like, making it a light and refreshing option in Florida’s heat.
Though the “Fear the Kakamora Brownie Mousse” is a bit messy, it’s worth the indulgence. For those who love coconut, this might be one of the best snacks at Walt Disney World. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the Splash-Mountain replacement in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, is slated to open on June 28, 2024. Imagineers have been busy putting the final touches on the attraction to prepare for this opening, and the latest updates include a fun new sign hinting at the fun ahead!
A new sign has been added to the queues Barn Door that warns guests of a 50-foot plunge ahead. The sign details the drops, turns, speed, and heights the attraction contains, and informs guests that they ‘may get wet’ and they ‘may exit now.’
Magic Kingdom guests will note increased activity at Tiana;s Bayou Adventure in the coming weeks, as Cast Members, D23 Members, Annual Passholders, and DVC members will all begin experiencing attraction previews. The previews allow cast members to work out the kinks of the new attraction before opening up the ride to all guests.
Once the attraction opens to all guests, it will require a virtual queue. The information on the queue from Disney seems to indicate the line will convert to a standard standby line soon after opening.

Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge Closing for Refurbishment in EPCOT
Attention Disney Vacation Club Members visiting EPCOT! Heads up that the Member Lounge in the Imagination! Pavilion will be undergoing a refurbishment from June 2nd to July 13th, 2024. But don’t worry, you can still relax and recharge at a temporary lounge set up inside The Odyssey during this time. The newly refurbished Imagination! Pavilion lounge is scheduled to reopen on July 14th, 2024.
Disney sparked excitement last month with a new construction permit filed for the Imagination! Pavilion. While many fans anticipated a reimagining of Journey Into Imagination with Figment, the permit itself only specifies “general construction.” This refurbishment could be what the permit is actually for.
Planned improvements to the DVC Member Lounge won’t require a major overhaul and should be finished within 6 weeks.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park Map Update Removes Character Flotillas & More
A new Disney’s Animal Kingdom park map has been revealed featuring updated character information and visuals, following the retirement of the character flotillas. This marks the first map update since March 2023.
While retaining the familiar “Alive with Magic” tagline and park layout, Disney’s new Animal Kingdom map boasts a fresh cover image. This time, thrill-seekers scaling Expedition Everest take center stage, replacing the previous Tree of Life artwork.
Guests will no longer see the route for the retired character flotillas on the map. In their place, some beloved characters have found new permanent meet-and-greet locations. Be sure to check out the new spots for Goofy and Pluto, Pocahontas, and even Dug and Russell from Up!
The Transportation section now includes information on Minnie Vans, a convenient way to get around the park. In the Entertainment section, you’ll notice some updates: the Character Flotillas and Feathered Friends in Flight have been removed, while details for Character Greetings, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!, and the newly-imaged Tusker House Restaurant have been added. This refreshed map ensures you have all the latest info for a magical Animal Kingdom adventure!

Landslide Victory for Disneyland Resort Cast Members Who Vote to Unionize
Disneyland Resort performers have voted to join Actors’ Equity Association, the union representing professional actors and stage managers. With nearly 80% support, the character performers, parade dancers, and their trainers overwhelmingly voted in favor of unionization. This decision impacts roughly 1,700 cast members.
“They say that Disneyland is ‘the place where dreams come true,’ and for the Disney Cast Members who have worked to organize a union, their dream came true today,” said Actors’ Equity Association President Kate Shindle. “These workers are on the front lines of the Guest experience; they’re the human beings who create lifelong memories when your kids hug a character, or when your family watches a parade roll by the castle. The next step will be to collaborate with them about improving health & safety, wages, benefits, working conditions and job security. After that we will meet with representatives of the Walt Disney Company to negotiate those priorities into a first contract.”

Actors’ Equity Association, the union representing the new Disneyland Resort performers, already collaborates with Disney. They currently represent performers at Walt Disney World and on Broadway productions. This unionization brings Disneyland Resort in line with most of its workforce, which has already been unionized.
“This is an incredible victory, and we appreciate all the support over the past several weeks. We’re excited about the next phase,” said Shindle. “These Cast Members are both pro-union and pro-Disney, and they’re looking forward to meeting with their employer across the bargaining table in a good faith effort to make both the work experience and the Guest experience better.”

To celebrate a decade of Aladdin on Broadway, Disney treated fans to a special concert! The full performance of “Aladdin on Broadway Concert Celebration – Live at EPCOT” is now available on YouTube. The concert was taped during the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, which occurs annually at EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Aladdin, the hit musical based on the Academy Award®-winning animated film, opened on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre to critical acclaim on March 20, 2014 and quickly established itself as one of the biggest new blockbusters in recent years.
Hailed by The New York Times as “fabulous and extravagant,” the Broadway production has set 17 New Amsterdam Theatre house records and spawned 11 productions on four continents.
