Disney has announced additional performers for the highly anticipated 2024 Eat to the Beat Concert Series at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Among the newly added acts are local favorites Foreigners Journey, M-80s, Hooligans, and Hayfire, promising to add even more variety and excitement to this year’s lineup.

Abigail Disney Halts Donations to Democrats Until President Biden Drops Out of 2024 Presidential Race

Abigail Disney, a vocal social activist and granddaughter of Roy O. Disney, has announced that she will not donate to Democratic candidates unless President Joe Biden withdraws from the 2024 presidential race.

According to Variety, Disney believes that Biden would likely lose a reelection bid against former President Donald Trump, with potentially severe consequences.

In a statement to CNBC, she says:

I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket.

This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high. If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that, I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.

We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s (and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity) and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.

Disney, a longtime Democratic donor, contributed $50,000 to the Jane Fonda Climate Political Action Committee in April 2024. She has also been outspoken on various issues, including the unionization of Disneyland Resort performers, the proxy fight at The Walt Disney Company initiated by Nelson Peltz, and climate change.

Disneyland’s largest union is making their voices heard! Union members distributed buttons featuring Mickey Mouse’s raised fist, a symbol of solidarity, to theme park visitors on July 1st. They’re asking for guest support in their fight for fair wages through contract negotiations.

Disneyland employees, represented by the Master Services Council, handed out buttons featuring the Mickey Mouse fist near the park entrance on July 1st. The fist is a symbol of solidarity in their ongoing fight for better wages through union contract negotiations.

“Disneyland Resort cast members may only wear buttons and pins that are a part of their costumes while at work so that the show is maintained for our guests,” according to Disneyland officials.

Disneyland recently reminded its cast members (employees) about the importance of following the Disney Look dress code. This code ensures a professional and unified appearance across the park. While the guidelines have been relaxed in recent years to promote diversity and inclusion, some items may still not be part of the approved look.

Cast members who wear unapproved items may be asked to remove them. Repeated violations could lead to verbal warnings or further disciplinary action.

The largest union at Disneyland, representing over 13,000 Cast Members (employees) including ride operators, store clerks, custodians, candy makers, and more, has been negotiating a new contract with Disney since April. Their current contract expired on June 16th.

Disney World Rescues Lost Teddy Bear, Sends It 4,200 Miles Back to 5 Year Old Girl

Leilani Hatton, a spunky five-year-old from Darlington, England, had a magical Disney World trip turn sour when her beloved teddy bear, Jofli, went missing.

The Hattons, who traveled a whopping 4,200 miles for the vacation, had Jofli by their side throughout most of the trip, according to SWNS, a British news agency. Leilani’s grandmother, Lynne Cullen, shared how Jofli was Leilani’s constant companion, “going anywhere and everywhere” with her. But one day, disaster struck. “We just suddenly realized he wasn’t with us anymore,” Cullen recounted. Back at the hotel, the family realized Jofli wasn’t there, leaving a big hole in their magical memories.

In a desperate attempt to retrace their steps, the family poured over photos from their trip, hoping to pinpoint Jofli’s last hurrah. Their investigation narrowed the search down to two prime suspects: Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Leilani’s grandmother, Lynne Cullen, fondly recalled how Jofli had even joined them in meeting all the Disney princesses across the parks, making their vacation extra special.

Despite the heavy hearts, the Hattons had to continue their trip and eventually return to England. With a sliver of hope, they filed a lost item report the day before leaving, not truly expecting Jofli’s return. But little did they know, a delightful surprise awaited them just two weeks later.

“We got an email a couple of weeks later saying [Jofli] had been found, and he arrived in the post a few days later,” Cullen said.

Amazingly, Disney employees managed to find the beloved stuffed animal! They even mailed it the whopping 4,200 miles back to Leilani’s home! Leilani’s grandmother, Lynne Cullen, described the heartwarming moment when the family let Leilani open the package. Inside, safe and sound, was Jofli! This act of kindness surely added a touch of extra pixie dust to their Disney memories.

Filled with gratitude, Leilani even penned a special “thank you” note addressed to none other than Mickey Mouse himself, thanking him for reuniting her with her beloved teddy bear and ensuring its safe journey home. This act of kindness by the Disney team truly sprinkled extra pixie dust on their Disney World adventure, making it a memory they’d cherish forever.
