Peeking at Progress: Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk!
Spotted some exciting construction progress at Disney’s BoardWalk! The iconic Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs stand, famous for its creative concoctions from Downtown Disney, is nearing completion across from AbracadaBar.
The Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs stand seems to be ready for its close-up! Construction appears finished, and it’s likely just awaiting final approvals before welcoming hungry guests.
Signage has been installed all around the stand. You can now see the pick up spot along with the signs advertising the different items available at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Items like lemonade, corn dogs, and cotton candy.
The Zootopia Land display awaits in the back left near the exit leading to the Reflections of China waiting area.
The display now features models, concept art, maquettes, plush, ride vehicles, and more from Zootopia land at Shanghai Disney.
Intricate mammal maquettes, on display here, were the inspiration for the vibrant, larger-than-life residents that populate the bustling streets of Zootopia.

This miniature All-Terrain ZPD Cruiser model served as the blueprint for the thrilling trackless vehicles in Zootopia: Hot Pursuit! Hop aboard these dynamic cruisers and prepare to slide, spin, and speed through the diverse biomes of Zootopia! On display next to the cruiser is the attraction host costume.
This display is not the only one in the building. Guests can also enjoy other displays featuring different areas of Shanghai Disney.
Disney Dreamers Academy Makes Dream Come True for Teen Entrepreneur with Visit to ‘Shark Tank’
Just as applications open for the 2025 Disney Dreamers Academy, a recent graduate’s experience highlights the program’s magic as Te’Lario Watkins II, a 16-year-old aspiring entrepreneur from Ohio, got a dream come true thanks to his participation.
Watkins, who runs his own mushroom farm and non-profit, met investor Daymond John at the 2024 Disney Dreamers Academy. John, impressed by Watkins’ story, invited him as a guest to a taping of ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
During the visit, Watkins received an exclusive tour, met other entrepreneurs, and learned valuable business strategies from John.
“Being able to meet Daymond John again was amazing,” said Watkins. “Disney Dreamers Academy made this possible. Apply, it will be one of the greatest decisions of your life!”
Watkins wasn’t the only student who benefitted. Elijah Moore, an aspiring producer, toured Dolby Studios and Walt Disney Studios. Orlando Ecung, a future business executive, attended the “Inside Out 2” premiere.
Applications Now Open for 2025 Disney Dreamers Academy
The announcement to apply for the 2025 program was made at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture. High school students from underrepresented communities across America are encouraged to apply or be nominated at https://www.disneydreamersacademy.com/.
Over 1,700 students have participated in the program, going on to become doctors, artists, entrepreneurs, and more.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Makes Waves with Inclusive Casting Call for ‘The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure’
In a move towards greater inclusivity, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has opened casting for its upcoming production, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” to transgender men and women. The new show, replacing “Voyage of the Little Mermaid,” is seeking to fill various roles, including the lead roles of Ariel and Prince Eric.
A recent casting call in New York specifically invited both cisgender and transgender individuals to audition for the roles. This is a departure from previous Disney casting calls, which typically stated “man” or “woman” without specifying whether transgender performers were welcome.
The casting notice for Ariel seeks a “White woman, transgender woman” between 18 and 30 years old, with a height range of 5’2″ to 5’6″. The character is described as a “spirited, fun-loving, yet curious mermaid princess who longs to be a part of the human world.” For Eric, the casting call is for a “White man, transgender man” between 18 and 30 years old, with a height range of 5’10” to 6’0″. The character is described as “charismatic and fearless,” a “true romantic who never gives up on his heart’s desire.”
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” is scheduled to debut this fall at the Animation Courtyard Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show will feature the same beloved songs as its predecessor, with the addition of “Kiss the Girl” and “Daughters of Triton.” A sneak peek of some of the new puppets was released earlier this year, generating excitement among fans.

These delicious bites are back at Columbia Harbour House (Liberty Square) in Magic Kingdom, even though they’re not currently listed on the My Disney Experience app or the restaurant menus. They were missing in action for a bit last month, but you can now grab them again!
Even though they aren’t listed on the menu, they are still able to be ordered as a side and will be added back to the menu again soon.
They’re priced at $4.99 for a side order! You’ll get them served in a cute little white cardboard tray.
If you’re feeling extra hungry, the Trio Platter comes with a cup of three hushpuppies already included for $14.29. That’s a great deal if you want to try a bunch of their fried goodness!

Tickets Go on Sale July 8th: D23 Gold Members can purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis starting July 8th, 2024, at 10:00 AM PT. A virtual queue system will be in place, so be sure to log in to your D23 account beforehand.
Designated Check-In Times: Check-in for each showtime occurs 1.5 hours prior at the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC). Dedicated ticketing booths will be available for D23 Guests.
Park Entry and Show Access: After check-in, receive your event gifts and make your way to Magic Kingdom via monorail or ferry. Use the dedicated turnstile and show your event wristband for park entry. Head to Grizzly Hall in Frontierland and queue up with your designated showtime wristband.

The new Orange Bird Float has made a splash at Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs as part of the Flavors of Florida event! This delightful treat combines DOLE Whip Orange and Watermelon swirl with Fanta Orange, all served in a charming souvenir cup for $11.49.
The tartness of the watermelon perfectly balances the sweetness of the orange, creating a refreshing and delicious combination. As the flavors melt into the Fanta Orange, the result is simply fantastic. We really enjoyed this treat, however the price point is a bit high.

Actor Terry Crews recently made a visit to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCO. Known for his roles in various films and TV shows, Crews, along with his family, joined the Guardians of the Galaxy for an epic intergalactic chase in an attempt to retrieve the Cosmic Generator.
This was Crews’ first time experiencing the exciting Cosmic Rewind ride, in which he plays the role of Centurion Tal Marik, a commander in the Nova Corps. Cruise delivers several memorable and funny lines in the role as he greets guests during both parts of the pre show.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a family-thrill attraction at EPCOT. It is famous for being the first Disney coaster with a reverse launch and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world. An innovation by Walt Disney Imagineering, the coaster cars rotate a controlled 360 degrees, ensuring guests can focus on all the action displayed during the ride.
The Disney Treasure is coming to life at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, and the upper decks are rapidly transforming into a prime location for future family adventures. Significant progress has been made on decks 11 and 12, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience at sea.
Recent updates highlight the exciting developments, including the foundations for one of the ship’s six pools, now set into an elevated platform. This promises to be a fantastic spot for guests to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Above, the forward funnel is ready for the installation of Funnel Vision, a massive LED screen that will showcase Disney movies for guests to watch while lounging on deck. The Funnel Vision stage is also taking shape, preparing to host a variety of performances and onboard activities.
Additionally, the tubing for the AquaMouse attraction is nearly complete. This 760-foot long water ride will soon wind above the Disney Treasure, featuring a brand-new show, “Curse of the Golden Egg,” adding an extra layer of excitement and adventure to the cruise.
