One of summer’s most highly anticipated blockbuster movies, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer FilmsPirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides features original music by Academy Award®-winning composer Hans Zimmer and a first-time collaboration with the internationally acclaimed Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.  Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides May 17, 2011.

Hans Zimmer is one of the film industry’s most respected and sought-after composers with a career that encompasses more than 100 film and television scores.  An Academy Award® winner for his score for The Lion King, Zimmer has also received eight additional Oscar® nominations for his work including Inception,  Sherlock Holmes, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Rain Man, As Good as It Gets, The Preacher’s Wife and The Prince of Egypt.  Other recent credits include Rango, The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. Among his many honors, Zimmer has also won two Golden Globes® and three Grammy Awards®.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are considered the premier guitar-playing duo in the world.  They have sold over one million albums, have sold out arenas and headlined festivals worldwide, and in 2010 they were invited to share the stage with Beyonce for a state dinner at the White House. The collaboration with Hans Zimmer is their first film score-an exciting and defining moment in their career.  Their willingness to explore musical expression and to embrace new sounds irrespective of fashion or trends, as well as their point blank refusal to be pigeonholed as any particular genre, is the very foundation of Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Not since the mouse himself began entertaining over 83 years ago has as entertainer with as sweet a spirit captivated an audience as Ardan James. His guest appearance on a February sailing of the Disney Wonder will make you hope he becomes a permanent fixture. His truly one of a kind skills go beyond an “act” and thrill you from the very first moment he arrives on stage. He arrives without fanfare, glitz or pre-conceived notions of your general entertainer. From the moment he is carried, yes carried, onto stage you are enamored with his presence, not knowing what to expect. He looks more like a statue stollen from Madam Tussauds than a man who for the next block of time will transport you into a world beyond your imagination.

“Light as a feather stiff as a board” comes to mind when Ardan arrives on stage, via two human couriers that are transporting him horizontally. He seems stiff as a board and your mind can’t comprehend what’s taking place. His robotic opening act makes you further question if he is indeed a man. The only inkling is his spirit which radiates as light as a feather as he segways into the second portion of his performance. You feel as though you are walking on a cloud or experiencing someone else’s dream as his physical comedy portrays an invisible tug of war, levitation from a single balloon and the simple gestures of a tender heart. As he takes a guest on stage to exhibit his newfound love, it’s as though the hand thats reaching for her is also reaching into your heart and making it smile.

A truly unique act that words cannot adequately describe, a mix of physical comedy, classic magician tricks and true original performance; Ardan James himself doesn’t even need words, as he can do an entire act without saying a word, but can indeed speak- as witnessed in his longer performances. His black tuxedo, formal as it may be, restrains neither the man nor his act. A single look at him would never lead you to believe he’s as light on his feet as Fred Astaire, or as endearing as Mickey mouse himself; but he is indeed both.

The performance itself; a mixture of visual and physical illusion, dancing and comedy are nothing less than captivating. His show is a true delight from start to finish and enraptures the hearts of both adults and children. His silence draws you in, his uniqueness keeps you intrigued and his sweetness makes you want to know the man who is this performer. Few as his words may be on stage they are nothing short of sincere as he graciously thanks the sound staff, by name, for assisting with his show.

Unlike other performers, when his act is done you don’t feel that its over, the things you have seen stay with you a long after the curtain is drawn, trapping you in his magical world of delight and illusion. Ardan James brings Disney quality performance to the next dimension and sets a new standard in the world of entertainment. His precision, lightness of foot and sweetness of heart make him as endearing as the mouse himself, I can only hope his success is as great!

Walt Disney World to add FastPass option for FastPass machines

Just days after revealing a new FastPass option for Mickey Mouse meet-and-greets at the Magic Kingdom, Chip and Co. has the scoop on a yet-to-be announced addition to Disney’s popular FastPass (FP) service.

No longer will guests have to wait in the long lines to get a FastPass to their favorite attractions. To help reduce the long lines guests may face waiting to get a FP ticket, Walt Disney World will offer a Fast Pass option for obtaining a Fast Pass. You heard it here first – soon you will be able to stand in a line to get a Fast Pass for a Fast Pass!

When asked about the program, a Disney Cast Member, who will remain Anonymouse said, “I’ve never heard of it, wait who are you again?”

Although Disney has yet to confirm its existence, Chip and Co. has heard the Fast Pass service will be called the “FastPass for FastPass,” or “FP 4 FP” – because abbreviations with numbers always sound more cutting edge and cooler.

These “FP 4 FP” tickets provide a one-hour window when guests can return and stand in another special Fast Pass line to score their actual FP ticket. Once that regular FP window opens, guests can finally enter the FP line to the attraction.

Disney anticipates that “FP 4 FP” will help manage lines and prove popular with guests for whom waiting in line is an essential part of the Disney magic. By offering “FP 4 FP,” guests will be able to spend more time in different lines, thus adding variety to a Walt Disney World vacation.

“FP 4 FP” will also allow guests to spend more time enjoying other Magic Kingdom experiences – such as souvenir shopping and eating Mickey ice cream bars – instead of the attractions themselves.

Chip and Co. asked some Disney fans what they thought of “FP 4 FP.”

Disney blogger Dana Howze, who logs long internet hours, said, “Sounds cool – but when can I get online FastPasses?”

Disney runner Jennifer Dreispul Lissak had other concerns. “What I really want to know is how do I get a FastPass for the corrals at the Walt Disney World marathon?

Some random guy named Chip had this to say, “42, wait what we talking bout”?

No firm date has been set for the implementation of “FP 4 FP,” but Chip and Company expects it to be some time soon after the Wizarding World of Harry Potter relocates to the new Fantasyland expansion.

Chip and Co. would be interested in hearing in what you think of  “FP 4 FP.” Or what you think about the FastPass for meeting Mickey Mouse Disney has actually announced or Tom Staggs’ announcement about Disney’s long-term plans to allow guests to reserve ride times at home.
