First Look: Cars 2 State Farm Commercial

In this State Farm commercial, Mater, Finn McMissile and Holly Shiftwell from Disney/Pixar’s CARS 2 movie, are talking about completing missions. Mater causes a mishap and a State Farm agent character, Sara Safestreet, shows up to show how we have you protected. The State Farm Pitties clean up the mess and show that State Farm an State Farm agents are there to take care of you.

http://www.statefarm.com

State Farm is sponsoring Disney/Pixar’s “Cars 2” animated flick with a promotion called “Agents on a Mission.” The program features interactive experiences and something like 18,000 prizes, including a new Cadillac SRX.

The second film in a franchise that will probably have more sequels than spaces on a Wal-Mart parking lot involves the hero car Lightning McQueen competing in the World Grand Prix with his pickup truck pal Mater. The film takes the vehicles to big cities around the world, with a secret-agent subplot.

One element of the promotion includes a 30-second spot commercial called “Pitties” (as in people working in a racing pit-stop) that is thematically tied to the movie: it carries the message that you can’t always be ready for the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune — but State Farm agents are. The ad, via DDB-Chicago, uses characters from the movie with a State Farm pit crew. It breaks May 24 on “American Idol”‘s season finale, with a pre-show cinema campaign in select theatres beginning on June 10.

State Farm will also back the film with a 30-city “Agents on a Mission” tour that centers on life-sized versions of the film’s “car-acters.” Visitors to the events can pretend to be special agents (this is all tied to the film’s secondary story line wherein the pickup truck character gets pulled into an espionage mission by a British secret service guy voiced by Michael Caine) and participate in an online promotional push. There are also onsite games.

Promotion participants will be able to access special agent-“confidential” information and become eligible to unlock one of 18,000 prizes ranging from night vision goggles to a new Caddie crossover.

Retail elements have State Farm agents in the U.S. and Canada giving such stuff to “Agents on a Mission” recruits and distributing special agent ID/decoder cards and other merchandise at their local offices. Once consumers get an agent ID card they can play online games and puzzles that let them use faux security, surveillance and communication devices in order to complete missions.

Finally, State Farm will be a presenting sponsor at the movie’s June 18 premiere in Hollywood.

I Love this Disney Site – Tours Departing Daily

I Love this Disney Site - Tours Departing Daily

There are many Disney blogs I read daily like Chip and Co, but there’s one I always look forward in my RSS Reader called Tours Departing Daily, which is different than many Disney sites, because it’s a photography blog focusing on Disneyland Resort (my second home).

The three photographers- Kevin Crone, Michaela Hansen and Matthew Hansen use a technique called High Dynamic Range or HDR.  This means there are multiple shots put together to give the picture more range of color similar to what the human eye sees rather than just the typical camera.

Can you recognize where their website name came from?

I love my daily Disneyland picture- each one brings up a memory or thought about a trip there and also gets me excited about my next trip (under 200 days!).  They also do trivia and giveaway contests on their Facebook page.  I haven’t won any of their prints yet, but I really want one!

Even before I understood what HDR was, I knew these pictures had a different quality about them and I don’t think I can even begin to appreciate the extra time they spend editing each photo so they have more of a realistic look to feel like I’m there.

They did a big project back at Christmas that is still enjoyable to watch any time of year- a time lapse video to music of Disneyland at Christmas!

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!

“Fake” Disney theme park closes its gates

Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park
Image via Wikipedia

Disney-style characters are found all over the Shijingshan Amusement Park in China, but owners claim they are different.

Deputy general manager, Yin Zhiqiang, said: “The characters in our park just look a little bit similar to theirs. But the faces, clothes, sizes and appearances are different.”

They said that their characters look Chinese and meant for it to be that way.  A sign even recognizes that they are not Disney, “Disney is too far, so please come to Shijingshan.”
But Snow White is seen as the ticket gate to the park and Sleeping Beauty is found with 7 dwarf-like characters.
Earlier this month, the park was bustling and busy with visitors, but since then the characters and banner have been taken down as talks with Disney have commenced.  Disney released a statement,
“Disney values and protects its intellectual property vigorously and takes reports of suspected infringement very seriously.”
Workers were seen taking down the Sleeping Beauty statue, gates are closed and parking lots are empty while they are in negotiations.

First Look: Disney Fantasy Atrium Lobby

Glamorous and graceful design elements are apparent throughout the Art Nouveau-inspired atrium lobby on the Disney Fantasy.

Last week, Disney Parks Blog announced some of the incredible new details you’ll find aboard the Disney Fantasy when she sets sail in late March 2012.

Here are some more details on the Disney Fantasy Atrium Lobby from DPB:

One element we haven’t told you about yet is the atrium lobby. If you’ve sailed with us before, you’re familiar with that fantastic feeling of excitement you get when you board the ship and enter into the lobby.

Differing from the Art Deco style of the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy lobby is inspired by Art Nouveau patterns – showcasing hues of vibrant blue, green, pink and gold that lend to the overall sophistication of this splendid space. A cascading chandelier made of stained glass and crystal beads illuminates the area from above.

Each of our ships feature a statue of a Disney character cast in bronze. On the Disney Fantasy, the atrium statue is none other than Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse! Inspired by travel of the 1920s and 1930s, Minnie is dressed in vintage fashion with a parasol and steamer luggage at her side. Here’s a shot of Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse while still in development. Check it out…

Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse serves to welcome guests as they enter the atrium lobby of the Disney Fantasy.

You’ll be able to enter the newly designed Royal Court restaurant from the atrium lobby. The elegance continues once inside this beautiful dining room that draws inspiration from the classic Disney films “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Sleeping Beauty.”

Royal Court on the Disney Fantasy is full of ornate details, and is adorned with dazzling décor inspired by Disney princesses.

Review: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Great Outdoors

Review: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Great Outdoors

My daughter and I had the pleasure of reviewing a copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Great Outdoors on DVD!

Here is the official description:

Join Mickey, Donald and the gang for laughter, surprises and blue skies! Everyone’s excited, because today is the big Clubhouse Camp Out. Help your pals pick the right Mouseketools so they can pitch their tents, catch gooey fish on Circle Lake and earn their camping badges. Then, get ready for adventure and exploration as Mickey and Minnie set off on a jungle safari in search of a rare, legendary flower. There’s always a world of fun under the sun in Mickey’s Great Outdoors!

Just like our last Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD it came with the Mickey Mote. My daughter is a pro at this now. While the setup the last time took a few minutes this time around we were able to just pop the DVD in and go.

It was a great idea when Disney introduced the Mickey Mote. We now have one for upstairs and downstairs.

The main highlight for us was the Bonus Episode Mickey’s Fish Story. I love when Disney releases a never seen before episode on the DVD’s.

Overall the DVD was great and if your a fan of MMCH you will want to add this to your library.

Thanks to Disney for allowing us to check this out and if you have any questions or comments let us know in the comment box below.

Disney Confidential – Space Mountain Closed!

Disney Confidential - Space Mountain Closed!

Hey there guys and gals Anonymouse here. Reporting to you the best in Disney News & Gossip.

I read this news story over the weekend and while it was very sad, I hope that the lady is ok.

The popular Walt Disney World ride was shut down after a the 48-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital, according to a Disney spokeswoman. The guest was riding Space Mountain, an indoor roller coaster attraction in the Magic Kingdom section of the theme park, and was not responding when the ride came to an end, said spokeswoman Andrea Finger.

A Disney employee called for help and Reedy Creek Emergency Services sent rescue workers to the scene around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The woman was breathing on her own and transported to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in stable condition, said Bo Jones, assistant chief for Reedy Creek.“That means she wasn’t getting any better or wasn’t getting any worse,” Jones said.

Disney released a statement that reads: “Our thoughts and concerns are with the guest and her family. We have sent a representative to the hospital to assist them with their needs.”

You have to understand that Space Mountain is a Roller Coaster and while not as intense as Rock-n-Roller Coaster it still can be a strain on your body. I wish I had a picture of a the sign that says not to ride if your pregnant or have a heart condition.

So please be careful everyone. Chip has asked me to recommend this article to you to make sure you stay in peak physical health at Walt Disney World. 5 Disney World Planning Tips for Health Conscious Visitors. If I have to hear him talk about P90X or Insanity Workout one more time I am gonna scream.

Anywho keep rocking those Roller Coasters, Take Your Vitamins, Eat Right, and see you at Walt Disney World.

Anonymouse out!

P.S. – Space Mountain was inspected and reopened after a few hours so everything is a O.K now.  Thanks to our facebook fans for pointing out that I forgot to include that!

Got any good rumors?  Please email me at [email protected] on my Facebook Page.
