Ellen Degeneres is in Negotiations for “Finding Nemo” Sequel

Ellen Degeneres is in Negotiations for "Finding Nemo" Sequel

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dory fans should keep their fingers crossed as Ellen Degeneres is in talks to repreise her role in Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” sequel. This original Pixar movie is one of the only Disney movies that does not have yet a sequel.  If all comes to plan, the Nemo sequel is not planned to be released until 2016, but with the original “Finding Nemo” getting a 3D update the fans have another chance to get their Nemo fix in theaters next month.

Over the past few years, DeGeneres has been very vocal about wanting to play Dory again in a Finding Nemo sequel. Dory is the beloved blue tang fish who has short-term memory loss in the 2003 original film. DeGeneres has made multiple requests on her daytime talk show about wanting to do a sequel and finally they are in negotiations to make that happen.  Andrew Stanton, writer/director for the original film is set to return for the sequel.

The original “Finding Nemo” won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and is the highest-grossing original Pixar movie.

The Ellen DeGeneres show is about to return for its 10th season in a few weeks and is the most lucrative daytime talk show currently on TV. DeGeneres is preparing to get a start on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 4th.

‘The Rescuers: 35th Anniversary Edition Double Feature’ Blu-ray Review

'The Rescuers: 35th Anniversary Edition Double Feature' Blu-ray Review

For me, ‘The Rescuers’ series is one of the true gems of Walt Disney Animation’s filmography. Both movies are full of colorful characters, exciting adventure, great humor, and lots of heart. That’s what makes the films so memorable for me, and really makes them stick out above many of the others. I can’t tell you how excited I was to find out that for the first films thirty fifth anniversary. These were two Disney Animation films I thought we wouldn’t see on blu anytime soon, and I’m so glad to see that Disney proved me wrong. Not only do we get both films now on blu-ray, we get both with gorgeous looking new blu-ray transfers to boot. ‘The Rescuers’ and ‘The Rescuers Down Under’ are back, and looking better than ever, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

You would think that getting news out in this day and age would be all digital – but leave it to the folks at Disney and Disney’s California Adventure to do things “old school” and create a hit!

The “Buena Vista Bugle” newspaper debuted this last summer at DCA as part of the theme parks makeover with the Buena Vista Street launch and provides information to guests the way it would have been delivered to them in the 1920s and 1930s…in good old-fashioned print.  In addition to show times and park information, the 4-page newspaper also articles written in the voice of the characters of Buena Vista Street.  The newspaper, now in its third edition has also featured fun Disney news like the wedding engagement of Ariel and Eric, a lightning strike at the Hollywood Tower Hotel and the opening of the Carthay Circle Theater!

It’s not 100% “old school”…there is one hi tech addition – a QR Code to download DCA’s official twitter account is featured at the bottom corner of the paper.

Want to get your hands on one but not going to be in the California Area anytime soon?  Check out eBay…there are a bunch of listings for them!

Mickey for President? Top 10 Reasons Why He Has My Vote.

Mickey for President
Mickey 2012

I wanted to offer up some lighthearted thoughts on my favorite Presidential Candidate.  Please save your comments on our current candidates for another site.  Here are my Top 10 Reasons to Vote for the Mouse!

10.  He’s a snazzy dresser, but not concerned with labels.  He’s’ OK with wearing the same outfit every day.  He would be saving the tax paying public a ton of money. I hear Einstein was the same way 😉

9.  Mickey would have the coolest dog in White House history.   Love my Pluto!

8.  Rumor has it that he has already been to Mars.  He also might be able to reinstate Pluto as a planet again.  This is an issue my demographic would like settled.

7.  He’s a born leader.  Although where he was born and where his parents are from is unknown.  This could create a problem.  Still, everyone listens to Mickey!

6.  Think of the savings on Presidential travel expenses.  Everyone in the world already comes to him!

5.  Anyone that has visited a First Aid Station or Baby Care Center at the Parks knows this Mouse can figure out Healthcare.

4.  The merchandising profits alone would more than eliminate the National Debt.

3.  His career in film and TV will prepare him for the public scrutiny.  Plus, he has a really cool autograph!

2.  Mickey Mouse gets tons of write-in votes every election.  Imagine if he was actually RUNNING for President.

And the Number One Reason Mickey has my vote…

I really just want to hear Anderson Cooper say “President Mickey really uses his Toodles”

MICKEY FOR PRESIDENT 2012!

Now who will be his running mate?

Magical Mouse Schoolhouse Book Giveaway

Magical Mouse Schoolhouse book

Chip & Company’s very own Jodi Whisenhunt has published a book, and we want to give one lucky fan a copy of this “fantasmic” new resource!

A reader named “Sunshine” says, “It is like getting 2 books for one. On one hand you get some history, facts and information about all aspects of Disney World. Jodi has a way of explaining things that makes you feel like you are right there. On the other hand, you get a lot of activities/experiments to do with your children.”

With MAGICAL MOUSE SCHOOLHOUSE: Learn While You Play at Walt Disney World Resort, children and their parents can think outside the textbook and stretch the walls of the home classroom with Walt Disney entertainment.

Have you ever watched Tinker Bell light the nightly fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park? Learn about her magical glow and measure luminescence using glow-in-the-dark objects. Have you ever ridden Dumbo the Flying Elephant? Build a paper airplane with an elephant’s proportions and learn about aviation.

Specialty Designed ‘Star Wars’ Helmets for a Good Cause

Specialty Designed 'Star Wars' Helmets for a Good Cause

Exhibiting at Star Wars: Celebration VI in Orange County next weekend is a new display of 40 redesigned helmets. These Star Wars props are part of a charity fundraiser, the As You Wish Project. After the exhibition next weekend, at the Star Wars event, they will be auctioned off on Ebay with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

More than 40 artists volunteered their time to help design and build these collectibles, including embedding 12,000 Swarovski cystals into one Boba Fett’s helmet. Artists included Joe Johnston and Sandy Dhuvyvetter, who were involved in the original Star Wars. Other artists were members of the 501st, a group which according to their mission statement is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate.

All the helmets are modified Boba Fett and Clone Trooper helmets and bidding will begin this Thursday on Ebay. The As You Wish project is sponsored by The Dented Helmet, eFX Collectibles and the 501st.

Magical Manners at your Disney Resort

All Star Movies

It’s time for another dose of manners! This time it’s about proper etiquette in and around your Resort! Common sense? Yes.  Do all guests have it? Nope. Are a few nice reminders needed? Probably – but certainly NOT for our readers! This little ditty is written for those guests that don’t know how to act, speak, or behave correctly.  Let’s just hope that one day, they hap upon this series of articles.

Here’s what we’d love to tell those people:

  • Always be polite when asking for something from the staff. Smile and make eye contact. Saying “Please,” “Thank you,” “No Thank you” as well as “Have a nice day!”  to others goes a long way; you’ll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Grouchy, demanding and accusation-like tones won’t help you get what you’re asking for – such as room requests. However, being polite, using friendly tones and giving a smile makes others want to keep working with you, and consequently, they’ll work harder to help you out!
