Disney Food Allergies and Special Dietary Requests

menu

As science and medicine progress, it is being found that many more people than were previously thought have food allergies or sensitivities. There are also many food issues among folks with chronic diseases. This issue runs the gamut from the very young to the elderly. Disney takes these food issues very seriously and offers solutions at the large majority of their restaurants so their guests will not be subjected to the problems that can happen as a result of these allergies/sensitivities.

Let’s take a look at what some of the major food allergies are:

  • gluten or wheat
  • shellfish
  • soy
  • lactose or dairy
  • peanuts and tree nuts
  • fish
  • eggs
  • corn

The best way to avoid problems with these types of allergies/issues is to note them when you make your table service reservations or if you prefer, discuss them with the Chef or Restaurant Manager upon your arrival. These things can generally be handled quite easily.

Disney Grant to Help Rescue Animals in Disasters

Disney Grant to Help Rescue Animals in Disasters

International Fund for Animal Welfare (www.ifaw.org) announced today a $250,000 grant from the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to support  IFAW’s efforts to rescue animals from disasters, and to assist IFAW and its partners to prepare their rescue personnel for emergencies.

“Disney has been a committed supporter in IFAW’s mission to make the world better for animals,” said Ian Robinson, IFAW Animal Rescue Director. “We look forward to continuing to work together and going wherever we are needed to help suffering animals.”

For well over a decade, the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF) has provided grants to help IFAW rescue and care for the animal victims of disasters, including after Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina, the Asian tsunami and Haiti earthquake.  Disney’s support has helped the nonprofit protect animals big and small – from elephants and tigers to household pets.

“After a devastating storm like Hurricane Sandy, communities are faced with a shortage of resources,” said Kim Sams, director of the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. “We are proud to support IFAW, and know that animals affected by such disasters are receiving care from the compassionate staff while impacted neighborhoods can focus on rebuilding.”

IFAW is a first responder for animals in distress in times of disasters. Its animal rescue team is currently deployed in New Jersey, helping to reunite families with the pets they were forced to leave behind because of Hurricane Sandy.

Kelly Johns developed MouseWait, which is one of the most popular Disneyland iPhone and Android apps in history. Now, he is taking MouseWait’s 100,000 plus community on an adventure with Jack Duncan, former SEAL Team Six member, billionaire tech-mogul, and Disney Legend. Part One of The Deadliest Cast Member was made available over the weekend for free on Amazon’s Kindle platform.

“My goal is to make this series an interactive adventure we can all go on together” said Kelly Johns.

Johns integrated a simple feedback form inside the novel that allows readers to submit their ideas and requests in regards to what they would like to see happen in the book series.

“It’s the same thing I did with MouseWait” said Johns, “I built MouseWait mostly on user feedback since we started in 2009 and people love it when you listen to them”

MouseWait for iPhone and Android is a free app that gives you accurate wait times and information on all attractions — even restaurants. It also gives people a live view of what’s happening at Disneyland through thousands of user-generated pictures and videos that stream through the mobile app and the web version of MouseWait. A massive community has developed around MouseWait. Many of these “MouseWaiters” as they call themselves have developed significant friendships as a result of the community, which is a phenomenon Johns says he couldn’t have predicted. You can see the MouseWait Story here.

Pretty Little Liars returns to ABC Family this January

ABC FAMILY SETS PREMIERE DATES FOR ITS HIT RETURNING SERIES INCLUDING THE ONE HOUR SCRIPTED DRAMA  “PRETTY LITTLE LIARS” PREMIERING IN JANUARY 2013

In all-new episodes of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” returning on, Tuesday, January 8th, 8:00PM – 9:00PM ET/PT, Radley Sanitarium has given Mona a clean bill of health and she is headed back to the halls of Rosewood High, much to the Liars’ dismay. With their former tormentor now back in their everyday life, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer take very different views of the “new” Mona. Sure she made their lives a living hell, but is she really cured? And what other secrets could she be holding onto? It is up to Mona to prove to the Liars if she has changed or not. “Pretty Little Liars” won five Teen Choice Awards in 2012, including Choice TV Show Drama, Choice TV Actor Drama – Ian Harding, Choice TV Actress Drama – Lucy Hale, Choice Summer TV Star Female – Troian Bellisario, Choice TV Villain – Janel Parrish; in addition to the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Drama. According to SocialGuide, “Pretty Little Liars'” summer finale became the #1 “most social” TV series episode in history, breaking records with over 1.6 million comments. ABC Family will air a special “Pretty Little Liars” marathon on Tuesday, January 8th, from 11:00AM – 8:00PM ET/PT, leading up to that night’s premiere episode.

Pretty Little Liars returns on Monday Jan. 8. In the last episode we saw a train ride gone wrong courtesy of the one and only A- Team. As shocking secrets were revealed I’m sure this season will give us some answers as well as some more questions. As Mona returns to school in this new season we will see the girls carefully navigate their way around her which i can’t wait to see! Now that we know who Toby really is will he have good motive for being a part of the A-Team or is he really just that evil? Did he ever care for Spencer or Emily? I guess we’ll have to wait and find out. Is Ezra to blame for some of the weird happenings in Rosewood? Is Lucas part of the A-Team? So many great question and so little answers but hey somethings got to keep you coming back for more and i know for a fact I definitely will be coming back because once you go to Rosewood you never leave EVER.
