Disney’s Super Buddies Saving The Day on August 27th.

Disney’s Super Buddies will debuts on Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD on August 27, 2013. My 4 year old and I could not be more thrilled to have a new release to the buddies collection. The buddies collection started with  Air Bud in 1997 and has continued to bring new and exciting movies to the series.  The buddies movies are our favorite live action straight to DVD series. We can not wait to get each new release, cuddle up on the couch and have movie night, as my son says how cute ma to each and every dog. This one will be a huge hit for any child that loves superheroes.

Rosebud, B-Dawg, Budderball, and Mudbud  are having an ordinary day at Fernfield Farms when they discover mysterious rings that grant them unique superpowers and then their day becomes extraordinary. They unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. They must succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their secret new identities.

This film has not yet been rated, but is sure to be a hilarious all new family movie for everyone to enjoy. The 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack suggested retail price is $36.99 and a 1- Disc DVD suggested retail price is $29.99 U.S, great movie to add to your family collection without breaking the bank. Super Buddies has a fantastic voice cast and amazing directors and producers, which is sure to make this a doggone hit.

Return of the Princess – Carrie Fisher on Princess Leia in Star Wars Episode VII

Star Wars news seems to be breaking on a daily basis which is a great thing! Original trilogy actors have been doing a lot of press answering questions regarding their possible involvement in Star Wars Episode VII. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams have mentioned wanting to return to a galaxy far, far away. Now we can add Carrie Fisher to the “Ep. 7” buzz.  Here’s an excerpt from a recent Palm Beach Illustrated interview with the galactic princess.

Q: “Disney is going to continue the ‘Star Wars’ saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?”
A: “Yes.”
Q: “What do you think Princess Leia is like today?”
A: “Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”

As soon as the story broke Fisher’s representative fired off saying “nothing has been confirmed” and she was just “joking.” Notice my use of quotations. I think Lucasfilm/Disney is doing a great thing by letting these things leak as it builds anticipation for a 2015 release. I suspect that we will be hearing from Billy Dee Williams and Mark Hamill over the next few months to stoke the flames.

Ralph, Felix, Vanellope, and other favorite characters fromWreck-It Ralph star in this exciting Storybook Deluxe app. Follow Ralph as he wrecks his way through the arcade in search of a hero’s medal—and ends up finding much, much more.

My opinion: I loved this App!! I know it is a bit pricey but it is worth every dollar. This App is 2 activities in one. If you pick the Read option you get get a live action story book. When you are in the storybook or read option be sure to touch the screen to see the scene play out and be on the lookout for Vanellope glitching around the screen. I think younger children will love the read option because instead of just hearing the story they get to see it play out right before their eyes. Honestly I am an adult and I really enjoyed the read option, so did my teenage daughter.

Fantasy Faire Makes Regal Debut at Disneyland Park March 12

For many guests at Disneyland Park, the encounter with a Disney Princess and her story is an essential part of any visit. Beginning March 12, 2013, Disney Princesses will await these guests at the new Fantasy Faire, a storybook world that extends Fantasyland and brings its timeless tales to life in fun and surprising ways.

Fantasy Faire creates an enchanting, immersive environment for guests who treasure magical fairy tales. Designed in the charming, old world style familiar to lovers of Fantasyland, this regal village fair is located on the west side of the “Hub” or Central Plaza, expanding  Fantasyland beyond its current boundaries and into a location (the former Carnation Plaza Gardens) near the forecourt of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Visitors walk a beautiful pathway leading into the corridors of the Royal Hall, where Princesses await them. Along the way, guests encounter whimsical design touches, including Geppetto’s cat Figaro dozing (and occasionally waking) on a window sill, and “Clopin’s Music Box,” a fascinating, interactive mechanical toy representing the Feast of Fools from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Life Blooms this Spring with Disneynature’s Wings of Life

Disneynature is back! After tons of success with “African Cats” and “Chimpanzee” they are expanding their collection and I am thinking it may be the best one yet. One reason, I am so excited to see what Disney has done I have recently discovered the hidden gem of “Flights of Wonder” at Animal Kingdom. This show made me see the light or flight on birds and they were not as…well…boring as I had thought! I love that show and I am guessing that “Wings of Life” is even better.

Just in time for Earth Day, Disney is making “Wings of Life” available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital and On Demand. It makes me think Spring is in the air—literally—as Disneynature prepares to unveil “Wings of Life,” a spectacular, closer-than-close, high-definition look at the intricate world of butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and bats, and their life-sustaining collaboration with flowers.  What could be better to ring in Earth Day and Spring that another Disneynature Film that is directed by Louie Schwartzberg (“America’s Heart & Soul”) and narrated by one of my favorites, Academy Award® winner Meryl Streep,.

“In the chaos and craziness of our day-to-day lives, few of us stop to consider what’s happening behind the scenes in nature that makes our lives possible,” said Streep. “This film is a stunning adventure that literally takes flight alongside all kinds of winged creatures—butterflies, bees and bats—each working hard to pollinate our planet.”  Said Schwartzberg, “For me, the joy of doing this film is to be able to explore worlds that humans can’t easily experience—bats sipping nectar in the middle of the desert at night, orchid bees expertly manipulated by a bucket orchid, exotic hummingbirds flying like airborne dancers, and a clustering monarch colony with millions of butterflies. ‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ Review

The world of Oz is about as synonymous with fantasy as Middle Earth, Hogwarts, and Narnia. Created by L. Frank Baum, it’s a place full of magic, whimsy, darkness, and wonder, everything that you need to make a compelling world to draw people in. Over the years, we’ve had many attempts at bringing the world of Oz to life on film, most notably in the 1939 classic, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, starring Judy Garland. But Oz has had a level of difficulty since then on screen, with many of the other tries at bringing the land to life flailing and never taking off. But in Hollywood, it’s not usual that we see things lay dormant too long, so it was only a matter of time until we saw Oz again.

Now it’s Disney’s turn to take a swing at the wonderfully whimsical world, bringing us a prequel story about how the wonderful Wizard known as Oz became the man we see in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, and daring to make a film that’ll leave a lasting effect on audiences of as the Judy Garland classic.

‘Oz The Great and Powerful‘ follows the story of Oscar Diggs (James Franco), who goes by Oz, who is a traveling carnival magician whose life revolves around the art of illusion, always trying to be a step ahead of everyone else, and pulling a veil over their eyes, be it the audiences who come to see his show, or the people in his personal life. But when Oz gets trapped in a tornado, he wakes up to find himself transported to a world that couldn’t be more different from where he came from. He’s found by a young woman named Theodora (Mila Kunis), who’s father was the King of Oz. When she learns the man’s name is Oz, she tells him of a prophecy of a man who was to fall from the sky, with the name of their land, who would save everyone from the Wicked Witch. Oz doesn’t necessarily believe this to be true, he goes along with the charade that he is indeed that man.. Aided by a flying monkey named Finley (voiced by Zach Braff), and a small China Girl (voiced by Joey King), Oz embarks on an adventure that not only will change who he is, but also the land of Oz, forever.

Do you want to Eat with Mickey Mouse?

What’s so special about Character Dining at Walt Disney World?  Why would you spend extra money to see the characters while dining, when the characters are in the park for free?   I’ll tell you why…time savings!

We love to go to Disney World in the summer.   Epcot has a great Character Spot, where you can see all of Disney’s main characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and others) all at one time.  The drawback?    Unless you’re willing to forego Soarin’ and Test Track first thing, the lines in the afternoon and evening can be 60-90 minutes!   If you have breakfast at Chef Mickey’s (at the Contemporary), you can have the characters all come to your table WHILE you are eating and save tons of time!  More time to have fun in the parks!   You have to eat anyway, right?

Shanghai Disneyland Castle Unveiled

Earlier this week at The Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger unveiled the first image of a model of Shanghai Disneyland Park that we just knew you’d want to see.

The image shows a portion of the Shanghai Disneyland model and its beautiful 11-acre green space at the center of the park. You also get a closer look at the unique design and scale of Enchanted Storybook Castle, the iconic central attraction of the theme park.

During today’s meeting, Bob said the one-of-a-kind destination will be authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese. “We believe this will be one of the most spectacular Disney experiences yet – and an important part of our future,” he said. “We look forward to opening the gates at the end of 2015 and welcoming the first of the millions of guests who will enjoy Shanghai Disneyland for generations to come.”

On opening day, Shanghai Disney Resort will include Shanghai Disneyland, two themed hotels, a dining and entertainment venue, recreational facilities, a lake and associated parking and transportation hubs.

Mayor of Seattle Proclaims ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Day

It seems that Oz fever is at an all time high, thanks to Disney’s newest film, ‘Oz the Great and Powerful‘, based on the popular L. Frank Baum stories. The first film to return filmgoers to the land of Oz, some place we haven’t ventured in many years. It seems that the Mayor of Seattle, Washington, really took it to heart, and decided to proclaim that March 7 was ‘Oz the Great and Powerful Day’, in honor of the new Disney film. It makes sense, considering Seattle, is commonly called the “Emerald City”, so this is pretty neat in my opinion. Disney announced that Mayor Michael McGinn has proclaimed today as “Oz The Great and Powerful” Day in the city of Seattle, Wash., in honor of Disney’s fantastical adventure opening in theaters across the U.S. tomorrow, March 8.

Since the 1980s, Seattle, Washington, has often been referred to as the “Emerald City” because of the lush evergreen forests of the area and the more than 6,000 acres of beautiful parklands within the city limits. The name “Emerald City” came into the public’s consciousness through the works of L. Frank Baum, whose 14 books, set in the imaginary Land of Oz, feature the iconic green city. “Oz The Great and Powerful” is a cinematic prequel to Baum’s first book, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

Fourth Season of “Good Luck Charlie” Premieres With a Special Performance by The Muppets

Season four of Disney Channel’s hit family comedy “Good Luck Charlie” premieres SUNDAY, APRIL 28 (7:30-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) with a special performance by Disney’s “The Muppets”. Guest stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Animal join series stars Bridgit Mendler and Leigh-Allyn Baker to perform a show-stopping, Muppet-ational original song.

In the premiere episode, the Duncan Family decides to build their dream house after the family home is devastated by termites. Everyone, with the exception of Charlie, is excited at the prospect of a new and larger home. However, Teddy has a change of heart after a dream in which Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Animal convince her that the old family home is really the house of her dreams. The episode’s original song “Dream House” is written by Grammy and Emmy-award winning Adam Schlesinger (“That Thing You Do,” “Fountains of Wayne,” “Tony Awards”) and produced by Schlesinger and Steven M. Gold (“Saturday Night Live,” “The Colbert Report”).

How to take in the sights and sounds of Disneyland

Hey all you fans of Mickey! So you’ve planned a visit to Disneyland! You’ve made it known to everyone you are going, you’ve contacted a Disney Specialist travel agent to do all the boring booking part for you, including booking your ‘Priority Seating’ dinner reservations. Now you are on your way!

You have arrived at the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’, what should you do first? last? That’s what I’m here to help you with. Well at least share my Must Do’s. I’ve been to Disneyland more times than I should admit to.

First things first, get in front of the floral arrangement in front of the train station and get you a picture! Collect your Photo Pass, or even better purchase your Photo Pass+ before even going to parks, so that you can use it for the rest of your trip. Don’t worry the photographer will also take your picture with your personal camera. Do It! You will love having the Photo’s available later on to purchase, sometimes making excellent Christmas Cards. Also know that you can pre-order the PhotoPass CD. If you do this and you make sure to take advantage of all the photography opportunities you can score an excellent deal!

Once you’ve walked under the train trestle, follow my lead and look to your left. Right next to the City Hall is the Fire Station. The top floor is Walt Disney’s apartment. Give him a quick hello, friendly wave, and perhaps a Thank You. If you are close enough you will notice that there is an oil lamp in the window. This lamp is always on, symbolizing Walt Disney’s spirit is always around. Quick note, don’t freak out if it’s out, that only means that one of the Disney Family is visiting the park and Walt’s spirit resides with them.
