Disney Plans to Buy Back Their Stock in 2014

The Walt Disney Co. will buy back up to $8 billion in stock next year. This will give a boost to investor returns, the company’s chief financial officer Jay Rasulo said.

Rasulo cited confidence in the return on Disney‘s investments, and its stock price, which has increased from 25% to $65.49 a share.

“We really see the opportunity, given where the share price is, given where the capital markets are, to target at least $6 [billion] and possibly up to $8 billion in buy back,” he said.

This is a significant increase in the company’s program to return capital to investors. The company probably will have to borrow to reach that target. Still, Rasulo said the company would be able to increase the buyback while maintaining its debt rating of “A.”

The company’s market capitalization is now nearly $117 billion. The company boosted its dividend by 25% to 75 cents a share, last year.

It’s Halloween Time At Disneyland

halloween-time

I’m gonna tell you a little secret…  I love Halloween Time no matter where I am, but especially at a Disney Park. The crisp fall air, the amazing changing of the colors on trees and plants, the warm comfort foods and soups returning to our tables at dinner time, the earlier evenings in with family. Honestly I look upon it with much affection and truly enjoy this time of year. There’s few things to improve on this, one of them is a Friday the 13th mixed in there, and well a trip to Disneyland for their Halloween decorations.

This year Disney is kicking it up a whole level for us though. Beginning on Friday the 13th, how cool is that?, of September Halloween Time visits Disneyland Resort. Staying around until the big night of October 31st.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be available for a total of 13 Special Nights, I know there is that 13 again huh? Make sure to get your tickets early to one of the most amazing Disney parties ever.

The Big Parts Of The Evening Include:

  • “Mickey’s Costume Party” – Featuring some of your favorite Characters (shows twice nightly)
  • Visit the parks in a costume of your own – The whole family is encouraged to be in costume
  • Special Halloween Party Fireworks Show – Halloween Screams
  • Access to almost all the attractions, including Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday
  • Two New Mickey Hide and Go Treat Trails
  • Mickey’s costume Party Cavalcade – Special Halloween Party Parade
  • Monsters U Dance Party featuring Mike and Sully of course – New this year
  • Mingle with the Disney Villains as you wander the park
  • Crafts and other activities, including Dance Parties
  • Special Trick or Treat Stations with candy and healthy snack options

When you go make sure you go all the way and get into your costumes. Everyone is welcome to wear a costume, however know there are some guidelines that must be followed:

  • Costumes have to be child-friendly
  • Masks May be Worn, but can not obstruct vision and your eyes have to be visible at all times
  • You may dress like a Disney Character, however you may not pose for pictures or sign autographs
  • Costumes may not be obstructive, offensive or violent
  • Costumes may not drag on the ground
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects or materials that may accidentally strike another guest
  • Costumes may not contain any actual weapons or anything that could resemble an actual weapon

With all there is to see and do, you should really contact me today to get your Disneyland Halloween Visit scheduled before or even during Halloween night. You know how to reach me right? Check out the next paragraph and let’s plan a fantastic trip!

New Touring Tips for the Frequent Walt Disney World Visitor

magic nand

Are you a frequent visitor to the Walt Disney World parks?  Or, do you make it your yearly vacation spot?  Regardless of how often you visit Walt Disney World, it doesn’t hurt to freshen up your touring plans, especially with all the new changes coming out!  Let me share with you some New Touring Tips for the Frequent Walt Disney World Visitor.

My Disney Experience:  Now, more than ever, it is essential that you create an account on My Disney Experience.  All it takes is an email address, and you’re good go go.  On My Disney Experience, you can link your reservations, see if you are selected for FastPass+, and even complete your on-line check in.  Another useful aspect of My Disney Experience is the FREE app you can download for your smart phone.  From the app, you can access up to the minute wait times, see what attractions are currently closed, and even check if there is a dining reservation time available at your favorite restaurant.

Utilizing FastPass+:  FastPass+ and how to  effectively use it is all abuzz when people are talking about Disney.  How do you best utilize FastPass+?  Well, I think it depends on your touring style.  As a mom, I’m going to be more likely to use FPP to reserve a spot for Wishes at the Magic Kingdom.  Traveling with teenager?  Then a great use of FPP would be on Space Mountain.  You can currently make 3 FPP selections each day, at one Disney theme park.

New Fantasyland:  New Fantasyland is bringing A LOT of new visitors to Magic Kingdom.  If you are traveling with younger children, consider FastPassing Ariel’s Grotto, and enjoy some of the other attractions in Fantasyland while you wait.  Enchanted Tales with Belle can be quite a wait, but it’s so worth it!  This is a great attraction to visit after lunch, or during a parade if you don’t hit it first thing in the morning.  Also, Fantasyland used to be a great area to hit right after Rope Drop.  Fantasyland is more spread out now, or so it seems, with the attractions ranging from Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, just past Storybook Circus, to It’s a Small World at the border of Frontierland/Fantasyland.  Keep in mind that Fantasyland gets REALLY busy in the morning, making it even more appealing during a parade or fireworks show.

Dining Reservations:  We all know how important it is to make those at the 180 day mark, right?  If you haven’t dined pre-rope drop, or you’ve missed some of the fabulous locations in World Showcase, your next trip could be the time to try those!  Dining pre-rope drop at any of the Disney parks makes a great start to your day.  You’re in the park early, making wonderful photo opportunities, and you can get a head start on your touring.  If you can get a 7:00 ADR for Chef Mickey’s when the Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00 you should have plenty of time to eat AND make it to the park early!

Utilize Park Hoppers.  Park Hoppers can be so worth it if when you are the parks for just a few days, or you’ve been many times.  The more our family visits WDW, the more likely we are to get Park Hopper tickets.  The flexibility they offer is great.  And, since our kids are getting older, we like to visit more than one park per day when we are touring.  Perhaps you REALLY want to ride the new Test Track, and that’s all you care about doing at EPCOT.  Then, get Park Hoppers, visit EPCOT in the morning and get on Test Track right away, then walk over to Hollywood Studios, and take in some shows.  I think the more experienced a visitor you are, the more useful Park Hoppers can be.

How are you changing your touring of the Disney parks, with all the new changes coming about?  We’d love to hear your tips!

Is Disneyland Paris Falling Apart?

disneylandparis
disneylandparis

disneylandparis

There have been many complaints about the condition of Disneyland Paris. The complaints range from cancelled shows to broken down rides and re-heated food. It has been said the resort is in serious need of repairs and a major overhaul is needed because things are literally falling apart according to the Independent.

There has been a petition signed by over 5000 people to improve the condition of the magical place. It has been placed on the desk of Disney CEO Bob Iger.  Keep in mind that Disney only owns 39.8 % of the resort.

Jake Howarth, from London, was one of the visitors to sign the petition. He said: ‘I have long been a visitor to Disneyland Paris, and over the last few years have sadly seen a decline in a number of things, all of which have been mentioned in the petition.

‘What strikes me about all of the Disney resorts I have visited is that, no matter where people are from, the one thing that remains the same world over is the Disney magic.

‘Therefore, I feel it is unfair that Disneyland Paris has been allowed to decline so sadly, and its visitors are allowed to experience what I believe is now an inferior experience.’

He also claimed that food in one of the resort’s most expensive restaurants appeared to have been re-heated.

‘We received our dishes in less than five minutes which is obviously too short a time for our food to have been cooked after we ordered,” said Mr Gallant.

The petition also claims the park’s fast food outlets are expensive and can’t compete with other nearby restaurants, like McDonald’s.

It also states the ‘early’ closing times of the resort’s restaurants. ‘When Disneyland Park closes at 11pm guests expect to be able to have an evening dinner, only to discover the restaurant closed at 7.30pm,’

Disney acknowledges a number of stage shows have been cancelled due to budget cuts.

Disneyland Paris Resort has always been considered a less than magical imitation of Disney World  in Florida.

I had no idea it was this bad there. Has anyone ever been there? What did you think?

Disney’s Art Of Animation Family Suites – Are They Right For You?

P1100084
P1100084

Art of Animation

Art Of Animation Is Walt Disney World’s Newest Value Resort which opened to the public in 2012. It’s themed after Disney animated classics – The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Finding Nemo, and each movie has its own “section” where the rooms, walkways, courtyards, and pools are all styled after the movie – like this amazing Nemo themed pool!

ResortPool

Something unique about this Resort is that it is comprised mostly of Family Suites, which is something new for Disney – there are some family suites over at the All Star Music Resort too, but this is the first Resort to be marketed mainly towards families who might want to utilize the larger suites – which leads us to the question – Are the Art of Animation Family Suites right for YOUR family? Let’s take a closer look….

NemoSuite

SuiteKitchen

The suites can sleep up to six people and feature 2 separate bathrooms, a master bedroom with a queen size bed, and a main living space that has a pull out couch that converts to a double size bed, and a table that converts to a bed that can sleep 1 or 2.

A kitchenette which includes a microwave, coffee maker, sink, and small refrigerator is located in each suite, which can be a big money saver – especially if you have a rental car – you can travel to one of the nearby grocery stores and stock up on snack and breakfast items to have on hand (items that would end up costing a LOT more in the Parks). No car? Don’t worry – groceries are still readily available to you through the Garden Grocer delivery service – order online, and have the items delivered right to your Suite! Other suite amenities include free wi-fi, an in room safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and cribs are available upon request as well. Laundry facilities are available at the Resort too – just in case!

land

The Art Of Animation Resort is themed after the 4 animated moves, and of course since this is Disney – everything is themed, so much so that you will feel immersed in your favorite animated movies, which is great for kids and adults too! The theming continues on through the Landscape Of Flavors food court area – where you will see schools of fish and some amazing artwork and detailing throughout the sprawling dining area. There are some pretty unique meal options available here, at breakfast you can sample smoothies, create your own parfaits and fruit bowls, and challah French toast. Lunch and dinner feature new items like Tandori shrimp/chicken, Mongolian beef/fish, and create your own salads. But don’t worry – the standards like burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas are still available here too, as well as a kid’s menu with mac and cheese and other familiar items

The Bottom line is that you should above all consider what your party really needs – if you could do with the extra sleeping space, spare bathroom, and kitchenette – then I suggest you strongly consider staying in one of these family suites

StandardROom

Oh, and regular rooms are available at AofA too – so if you have a smaller party or would rather stay in a standard room, or if you just LOVE The Little Mermaid, you can stay in one of the standard rooms in the Little Mermaid section of the Resort – which come with 2 double or 1 King bed

Many of the “comforts of home” are available with these suites at A Of A and I think it’s a great option for families who don’t want to crowd into a standard Resort rom – but I want to know what YOU think – have you stayed in these Family Suites? Would you?

Cinderella Castle Dream Lights Installation at Disney World

Crane

Well that time of year has arrived again ladies and gentlemen!! I love the holidays and I love Disney World so the 2 together are a win- win for me. While the Holidays are Magical at Walt Disney World the time leading up to them sometimes aren’t so…

Like the picture above, the famous Magic Kingdom crane will be making an appearance by Cinderella Castle which could only mean one thing, it’s time for the holiday Dream Lights to go up. Dream Lights consist of 200,000 LED lights, that drape over Cinderella Castle.

The installation will run from Sept 16 to Sept 30, 2013. If you get to the park early enough before the crew starts working you can sometimes get a crane free shot. Chip unfortunately isn’t so lucky.

Good Luck.

Cars Land no longer coming to Disney World

P1040424
P1040424

Cars

Hiya!! It’s me again, Anonymouse!! You haven’t really had much of a chance to miss me lately. I have been a busy little bee rounding up all of the good gossip for you. Admit it, you know love my gossip?

Well fellow Disney Addicts I have some not so magical news. Cars Land will not be coming to Disney World, (Insert sad face here). I was hoping the rumors that have been swirling around were true but it turns out Disney has changed their minds. So it looks like if you want to experience Cars Land  you will have to make the trek to Disneyland.

Usually the new plans for the parks are released at D23 but there was nothing this year. All that was said was Avatar Land and “Project Harvest Orange” otherwise known as Star Wars Land, that is still under development in Hollywood Studios. I am sure Chippy will be geeking out there quite a bit! As for me I will definitely skip it.

Now we all know Disney can throw some money at the Cars Land development for Disney World if they really, really wanted it to happen. However they are like any other business and they have to prioritize what funds go where.

I think that Disney likes to keep some things specific to certain parks. Which is what makes them the marketing geniuses that we all know they are!!

I am not too happy about this, how do you feel about it? Are you atleast excited for Star Wars Land? Let me know in the comment box below.

Any who, that is all the Disney Gossip I have right now. For my past Gossip articles be sure to check them out here.

Got any good gossip/rumors? Please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook Page.
