Club Penguin: Muppets World Tour

The Muppets have been making the rounds to celebrate their new movie. So naturally their next move was to take over Club Penguin. For 2 weeks members will be able to dress up like their favorite Muppet and perform with some of their favorite Muppets to celebrate, Muppets Most Wanted, in theaters March 21.

In the movie, the entire Muppets gang takes off on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. And now, penguin players can make their own international performance debuts alongside the Muppets in exotic locations like Paris, Mexico, India, and Germany. Club Penguin members will even get to dress up like the Muppets, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, Swedish Chef and more.

Starting on March 20 players will have to master performances like singing a duet with Miss Piggy in Great Britain or throwing cream pies with Fozzie in Germany. Along the way, penguins will earn exclusive rewards for their quests. On March 28, penguins will unite for a Grand Finale performance at the Muppets Theater hosted by Kermit the Frog.

During the Muppets World Tour on Club Penguin:

Members can leave the dressing room in style with exclusive character costumes including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and more.

Members can fill their igloos with the Club Penguin Airliner, Air Pilot’s Seat, Check-in Terminal, Stage Curtain, and Grand Stage Arch to prepare for the Muppets World Tour.

Members can collect exclusive items like a floral shirt, tourist camera and straw hat.

With the one-of-a-kind Muppet Maker, members can create customized Muppet costumes for their penguins to wear on the island.

Disney World adds character dining to Star Wars Weekends

Disney World is releasing TWO all new character dining experiences for Star Wars Weekends. Starting on March 26th, you can call and book for select days starting May 4th through June 15th to Disney with Disney Star Wars Characters!

Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine – Join Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy, Stormtrooper Donald and Ewok Chip and Dale for dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Seatings for dinner will begin at 4:15 and go until the park closes. All meals will include a digital download of a photograph with Ewok Chip and Dale and photopass photographers will be on hand with cards. Prices start at $56.99 for adults and $32.99 for kids (ages 3-9). An added bonus of adding this as Fantasmic Dinner Package for $59.99 for adults and $36.99 for kids (ages 3-9).

Star Wars Galactic Dine-In Breakfast – Start your day with an out of this world breakfast. Join Stormtroopers, Jawas, Greedo, Boba Fett and the dark one himself, Darth Vader for breakfast at Sci-Fi Cafe. Star Wars trailers and movie clips will be playing across the big movie screen as you dine. All meals will include a digital photo of your party on a commemorative Photopass card. Kouzzina Closing Permanently on September 30, 2014

Kouzzina by Cat Cora, the Mediterranean inspire restaurant located in Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, is closing permanently on September 30, 2014. This restaurant opened in 2009 and has been a well-loved location for breakfast and dinner.

Kouzzina will be replaced by another restaurant which is slated to open sometime in Fall 2014. No word yet on the type of restaurant that will replace it.

Some Changes Coming to Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort

Last week Disney began construction on the refurbishment on the Polynesian‘s Great Ceremonial house. The construction is expected to last through December. Sadly this means there will be some closures. I know closures and construction are a big annoyance but just think of how beautiful it will be when everything is done.

Closures:

Capt Cook’s will be closed temporarily. I was given a time frame of 3-6 months.

Some you may already know but The Wyland Gallery is closed for good and will not be re-opening.

The Neverland Club is closed and will re-open the end of April, with a new theme and a new name.

There will also be limited Monorail hours.

Disney has not officially released any specific dates for any of these changes!

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s move on to the important stuff, the FOOD!

Drum roll please!!!

Now appearing at the Tambu Lounge will be everyone’s favorite ‘Ohana Bread Pudding. So now you can just stop over for a quick dessert and not have to get an entire meal, and make a reservation, just to get your favorite dessert. I suggest adding a Lapu Lapu while your are noshing on this yummy dessert.

The Timeless Tale of Adventure, Friendship and Fun Continues!

Experience the wonder of this timeless tale as you reunite with your favorite characters and meet new friends. Disney’s beloved movie classic continues in this new digital master of The Jungle Book 2 – on Blu-ray for the first time, and wilder than ever in breathtaking high definition!
Now that Mowgli’s living in the “man-village,” he cherishes his new best friend and little brother, but he still has that jungle rhythm in his heart. He misses hanging out with happy-go-lucky Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther. Yearning for freedom, Mowgli runs off into the jungle – and encounters his enemy Shere Khan! This time, he’ll need both his new human family and his old jungle friends to help save the day.

The Jungle Book 2 is a movie of laughs, fun and heart felt emotion. What I loved most about this movie was its sheer energy that radiated off the TV screen. From the first moment I put in the DVD I felt like I was on an adventure to a faraway place filled with fun. The beautiful colors stood out and made the jungle background come to life. The colors were magnificent and definitely reimagined in the perfect way for this action packed film.

In this move we see a new character Ranjan who is an adorable little boy and the perfect addition to the original characters form the first film. He’s sweet and just a little bit rambunctious as he embarks the jungle with Shanti to save Mowgli.

Mowgli is back as the main character of this movie and still manages to create that same boyish charm that cemented the first movie as a classic. With a new voice and a whole lot to say I think kids around the world will love Mowgli’s spirit as he tries to find his place in life. Baloo the bear also makes his triumphant return in this movie with same charisma that made him loveable all those years ago!

Although we don’t see King Louie in this movie (which was slightly disappointing) we do see his place and what it’s grown into now that he’s gone. In fact one of the amazing new song and dance sequences in the move takes place there. Although there are new song and dance numbers there are throwbacks to the original songs in the form of “Bare necessities” and if you catch it a slight mention of” Trust In Me” sing by the evil snake Kaa.

The bonus features on the DVD include the synopsis of The Jungle Book which is really great if you don’t know the story or like me watched the second installment before the first! So if you’re going to watch this movie first I suggest playing that bonus feature to help you get the feel for this movie.

The legacy of The Jungle Book is another bonus feature on the DVD that tells you all about the movie and how it was originally created. It has fascinating interviews with so many important people to the movie and The Walt Disney Company itself. It even reveals quite a bit about Walt Disney’s experience in making the first movie so all Disney fans should check out this bonus feature!

Don’t forget to also catch the deleted scene which chronicles two songs that were cut from the movie and are quite possibly my favorites even though they weren’t in the film. You’ll find yourself wishing they could have played a part in the story as they’re just as catchy as the tunes you here in this movie.

Overall this movie is a great addition to your Disney collection and especially if you own the first jungle book movie. It’s sweet and energetic and even a little heart wrenching. The characters and setting as well as the color and sound are undeniably a perfect combination.

Disney’s The Pirate Fairy Red Carpet Event

Walt Disney Studios hosted the Red Carpet Event for “The Pirate Fairy”. Arriving at the studios, I quickly checked in and found the Chip and Co. spot. As I waited for the event to begin, I took a few moments to enjoy the scenery and once again, thought about all the magic that has been created on this property. The Red Carpet event began with the appearance of street entertainers and of course, Tinkerbell herself.

The arrival of celebrities shortly thereafter, provided for many interview and photo opportunities. I spoke with Aubrey Anderson-Emmos (Lily from Modern Family) who was excited to see the movie and hang out with Tinkerbell. Eva Bella, who is the voice of young Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, was next and shared that she would love to be a “fashion fairy”. Dressed in a beautiful dress, Eva mentioned the plot possibility for Frozen #2 focusing on how Elsa got her powers. Carlos Ponce, one of my favorite all time actors and singer was at the top of my list to interview. Carlos talked about his character Bonito. “Big and husky, Bonito knows how to sew, is well read, well traveled and not your typical pirate”. Natasha Bedingsfield wearing a beautiful gown designed by Christian Siriano, sang a few lines from the song “Who I Am” before disappearing into the theatre. And the funny and very down to earth, Christina Hendricks, talked and joked about everything from the weather, to playing Zarina and mentioned that although her favorite fairy is Tinkerbell, she can identify best with Zarina’s personality traits. The Red Carpet event came to an end as the artists were ushered into the movie theatre.

“The Pirate Fairy” is Disney’s fifth Tinkerbell movie and introduces Zarina (voiced by Christina Hendricks). A dust-keeper fairy, who has a strong interest in the blue pixie dust and its endless magical properties and possibilities. When Zarina goes too far with one of her crazy ideas, and the fairies have their powers switched, Zarina runs away from Pixie Hollow and joins the pirates of Skull Rock, Tinker Bell and her friends take off on an adventure to find Zarina, and meet a cabin boy named James (voice of Tom Hiddleston), who will one day be known as Captain Hook himself.

IMAX and Walt Disney Studios Join Forces

IMAX Corporation and Walt Disney Studios have made an agreement to release several of Disney’s new movies in IMAX theaters.

According to the deal, IMAX will be part of Disney’s release strategy for its more popular films, including Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 2014), Maleficent (May 2014), Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (August 2014), and Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 2015), Tomorrowland (May 2015) and Star Wars: Episode VII (December 2015).

“Disney has enjoyed a terrific ongoing collaboration with IMAX, and we are thrilled to extend this relationship with a collection of exciting, highly anticipated cinematic events that are perfect for the immersive IMAX format,” said Alan Bergman, President, The Walt Disney Studios.

“For the last several years, Disney and IMAX have worked together to deliver extraordinary cinematic experiences to audiences around the world,” said IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond. “The combination of the great product being created by Disney and the overwhelming enthusiasm of moviegoers to see films in IMAX theatres makes this agreement really exciting.”

Howdy hi, girls and guys! Anonymouse here with some more Disney Gossip for you. I’ve been hanging around Cinderella’s Castle and see that it’s being repainted. First it was a primer silver now it’s back to blue. Is Disney getting it ready for a Frozen coronation? Yeah you heard me right!

A few days ago, Chip & Co writer, Ivon, announced Anna and Elsa’s move from Norway to the Magic Kingdom. As of April 20, 2014, Anna and Elsa will be greeting fans from the Princess Fairytale Hall. With their move quickly approaching, the Princesses have been all abuzz with news.

Rumor has it, that Cinderella’s Castle is getting prepared for a Frozen coronation! How great would that be? Anna and Elsa will officially be Disney Princesses. Or will it be Princess Anna and Queen Elsa? Will their coronation coincide with their move to the Magic Kingdom on April 20th? Hmm, guess we’ll have to wait and see 😉

Now on to more Frozen gossip, my sources on the Red Carpet have been busy bees as well. It seems that a Frozen 2 is on the horizon. It’s rumored this movie will explore how Elsa received her powers.

“Jake’s Never Land Pirate School” App is Now Available

One of Disney Junior’s most popular apps, Jake’s Never Land Pirate School, is now available for in the Google Play Store, Apple Store and for the Kindle in the Amazon App Store.

Your little pirate, or princess, can go deep into Never land and go on pirate themed challenges with Jake.

Here are some of the challenges:

Sailing – Sail Bucky and Jake around obstacles while using Bucky’s gadgets to shoot beach balls to whales and dolphins and collect barrels and fruit from the water.

Pirate Band – Learn to play five different instruments and make a pirate song with Bones and Sharky.
Map & Spyglass- Navigate Never Land with Cubby and then use the spyglass to find exciting treasures with Jake.

Pixie Dust- Fly through mazes with Izzy and Skully and trace shapes to scare away Captain Hook.

The app also lets you take or upload your own photo to make your very own pirate face, and the Pirate School Captain’s Log tracks class levels completed and Badges of Honor earned so that kids can earn their official Pirate Certificate.

The “Jake’s Never Land Pirate School” App is $2.99.
