“Delivery Man” Blu-Ray Review

Delivery Man
Delivery Man

Delivery Man

Some background on “Delivery Man“In this heartwarming comedy, underachiever David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn) learns he’s actually an overachiever, he’s fathered 533 children via donations made twenty years earlier! David soon discovers that the shock of his life might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Along the way he discovers not only his true self, but also the father he could become. Also starring Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders — and complete with bonus materials, including behind-the-scenes footage — it’s a feel-good movie that really delivers.

The first thing I noticed when I got this was the saying on the front, “You’re never quite ready for what life delivers”, I am sure many of us know just how true that is.

I have always liked Vince Vaughn, but honestly have not seen many of his movies. I do remember seeing the commercial and thinking that the movie looked funny but it was a bit more than just funny. I was pleasantly surprised.

As soon as the guy from SNL I knew were off to a good start. I love a good comedy! Seeing what looked like NYC and the fact that he worked for a Pork Store brought back many memories of my childhood.

Could you imagine being informed that you fathered 533 children? When the lawyer appeared in his apartment, his reaction was so funny. I did find it odd that somehow everyone was able to get into his place when he wasn’t there. The lawyer then gave him an envelope full of profiles of some of the kids he fathered. Would you open the envelope? I would!

Everyday he picked a different profile and went and found that person and he acted like a true parent immediately even though he didn’t know them. I thought that was awesome and it shows the bond that a parent feels for their child.

I did love the advertisement on the taxi for Epic Mickey 2. I had to yell “Hidden Mickey”.

The most touching scene was him with his disabled son Ryan. He always included him in everything. That actor was amazing. That is very hard part to play. He accepted all of them unconditionally, which is how it should be

He accidentally finds himself in a room full of the children that he fathered. I could not even imagine how that would feel. I wondered how long it would take until someone found him out. Well that was revealed soon.

Throughout the movie I assumed his reasons for donating were selfish but I found out that I was very wrong. You will have to watch and find out the reason.

He did win the right to stay anonymous, yet he couldn’t do it. I loved how he told all of them, very fitting in this day and time.

I liked the movie more than I thought I would. I like that it showed Vince is not just a comedian but he can also play a little more serious.

The ending was great. I can’t think of a better place for them all to meet.

Now on to the Bonus Features:

First up is Building Family: You get a behind the scenes look at how they feel about the story-line from the people behind the scenes and learn some fun facts about the cast. Example: I know Vince Vaughn is tall, but he is 6’5!

Next is Vince Vaughn Off the Cuff: Out takes are always funny and there are no different. Vince Vaughn can go on and on and on, even without a script.

There is one deleted scene. I don’t know how it ended up on the cutting room floor.

Last but certainly not least is my favorite, the bloopers: I think the best bloopers come from the funniest actors. So needless to say you will get a good laugh out of these.

I give this movie a B.

Off-Park Hotel Options at Disneyland Resort

good neighbor

When booking your Disneyland Resort vacation, you have several more options than the three on-park hotels. Unlike Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort does not offer the option of a value hotel. A stay at the cheapest hotel on the resort, Paradise Pier, starts around $250 per night at the non-discounted rack rate. While it’s amazing to never leave the magic, for some it’s too expensive or just not worth it. Luckily, there are some other great options nearby.

The first thing to look for in an area hotel is to see if it is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel ©. Disneyland holds very high standards when it comes to quality and customer satisfaction, and the hotels that are given this title must meet their same standards. This list is also reviewed yearly to ensure that the standards are being maintained.

If you plan to stay off-park while visiting, and don’t have a vehicle, you can reach the resort by using Anaheim Resort Transit (ART). There is a small fee to use this service, but it’s still often cheaper than daily parking and/or the cost of a rental car. The bus typically runs from 1.5 hours before the park opens until 1.5 hours after it closes. It stops in front of most good neighbor hotels and runs every 20 minutes.

So, what are you looking for in a hotel?

Proximity: There are several Good Neighbor hotels that are actually closer to the main gates than the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier. If you’re looking for a hotel within a one block walking distance, look no further than these hotels:

Candy Cane Inn: One of the oldest hotels in the area, and family owned, this hotel is directly across the street from the main gates.  On top of offering a free large continental breakfast, they also provide their own shuttle service if crossing Harbor Blvd is too much for you after a long day at the parks.

Sheraton Park Anaheim Resort: A lovely hotel that offers both luxury and proximity. Located next door, this hotel has its own steakhouse, pool and pool bar, and rooms that offer a view of the Disneyland fireworks.

Luxury: Do you want a posh hotel, but The Grand Californian isn’t in the budget? Check out these hotels that are close by and leave a little more spending money in your pocket.

Anaheim Marriott: This beautiful, full service hotel offers an indoor pool and free dining for kids. Since it is adjacent to the Anaheim convention center, this is a great hotel to look into if you plan to attend the biennial D23 Expo.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton: DoubleTree is known for its fine accommodations, and this one is no different. Only a couple blocks from the park, this hotel offers suites that cost less per night than a standard room at The Grand Californian.

Value: Are you simply looking for a clean, safe room to shower and sleep at night? The following hotels are well reviewed and under $100 per night.

Motel  6 Anaheim Maingate: Newly remodeled and about a half mile from the main gates, this hotel offers a heated pool and whirlpool, complimentary parking, and is pet friendly.

The Quality Inn & Suites Anaheim, Disneyland Resort: Consistently rated one of the best hotels off Disneyland, and less than $100 per night. This hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast and free parking.

Will a new Italian Restaurant open in Disney Springs?

Disney Springs
Disney Springs

DS

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Anonymouse here with some Disney Springs news for you. I’ve been chatting with my friends at Walt Disney World and gossip has it that a new Italian Restaurant will be opening in Disney Springs.

My sources say the Patina Restaurant Group is behind the new concept. They are a Los Angeles-based gourmet restaurant owner/operator and the same group behind Via Napoli and Tutto Italia in EPCOT.

Does this mean we’ll be seeing a new Italian restaurant soon in the new Disney Springs? So far, all I know for sure is a permit has been filed for a new restaurant area.

More details to come as I hear them…

Anywho, that is all the Disney gossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my facebook page.

Most people know that you can be made up like a princess or pirate at Disney by going to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirate’s League for a makeover.  Some of you may even know that you can get a very cool “do” at the Barbershop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

Of course you can pay to go to those locations to look fantastic, BUT….

Did you know that there are secret, magical places at the Magic Kingdom where you can get sprinkled with pixie dust for FREE?  If you ask in a most magical and pixie-dust-ish sort of way – you could be sprinkled with magic!

In the shop Castle Couture, ask any Cast Member working in there and they will happily give you a sprinkling of Pixie Dust.

If you happen to meet Terence in Pixie Hollow (the keeper of the Pixie Dust), you may get a generous supply of Pixie Dust sprinkled on you too!

Another location to get free sprinkles is at Tinkerbelle’s Treasures in Fantasyland.

Disney State of the Art Laundry Facility

The Disney World Resort is huge and it just keeps growing. So to keep up with their growth, Disney World has started construction on a new state-of-the-art laundry facility.

This new facility is not only great because it will give the Central Florida area hundreds of new jobs, but it will also serve as a model for the textile industry because it will be the most technologically advanced facility of it’s kind in U.S.A.

It will be located near the Art of Animation Resort and it is set to open in spring of 2015.

“The new facility will showcase some of the textile industry’s most cutting-edge features including conveyors and air suction tubes that quickly move linens and machines that automatically sort, separate and fold,” said J.R. Garcia, director of textile services at Walt Disney World Resort.

Magicband Prices for Off Site Guests have Been Released!

Magicband Box
Magicband Box

Magicband Box

We know Magicbands will be available for off-site guests starting March 31, so naturally the next question is how much? They will be $12.95 to purchase. Cheaper than we had originally thought.

Of course you still will not get all of the onsite advantages. Off-site guests can schedule their Fastpass+ reservations 30 days out, just like passholders. On site guests still get the 60 day advantage. You will also get to use the “My Disney Experience App” so you won’t just me limited to the in park kiosks.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to have a Magicband. Your RFID ticket will work just fine.

As far as how you will purchase them, that info has not been released yet. As soon as we know you will know.

Do you think the price is reasonable? Would you buy one?
