Kelly Osbourne Voices a Devious Character in new Disney Show 7D

Kelly Osbourne has joined the cast of Disney‘s “The 7D,” an animated series that delivers a comedic new take on the Seven Dwarfs. Produced by Disney Television Animation, the zany and broadly appealing series will be presented on three Disney TV platforms: Disney XD, Disney Channel and Disney Junior, beginning this summer.

Ms. Osbourne, who shared the news with fans via her Twitter account today, said, “It may surprise some to learn that I grew up watching Disney Channel, so playing a character in a Disney cartoon is beyond exciting for me.” She continued, “I’m having a blast voicing Hildy, who I’ve now come to think of as my alter ego – she is my Sasha Fierce. The role has taught me so much about acting – and Hildy’s a tough one to keep up with, so I wear workout clothes to recording sessions because I jump and move around to really bring her to life.”

Set in the contemporary and whimsical world of Jollywood, “The 7D” story finds the 7D – Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc – hard at work helping the quirky Queen Delightful (voiced by Leigh-Allyn Baker of Disney Channel’s “Good Luck Charlie”) keep her kingdom in order. Osbourne will voice the role of Hildy Gloom, a novice witch who, together with her warlock husband Grim (voiced by Emmy-nominated Jess Harnell of Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First” and “Doc McStuffins”), haplessly plot to overthrow the kingdom.

The stellar voice cast includes Disney Legend Bill Farmer (the voice of Goofy) as Doc, Maurice LaMarche (“Pinky and the Brain”) as Grumpy, Kevin Michael Richardson (“Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja”) as Happy, Dee Bradley Baker (“Phineas and Ferb”) as Dopey, Scott Menville (“Teen Titans”) as Sneezy, Stephen Stanton (“Doc McStuffins”) as Sleepy, Billy West (“Ren & Stimpy”) as Bashful and Paul Rugg (“Animaniacs”) as Lord Starchbottom.

Meme master Parry Gripp, the creative force behind such viral videos as “Hamster On A Piano (Eating Popcorn)” and “Baby Monkey (Going Backwards On A Pig),” is the songwriter and composer for the series and also performs the theme song.

Television personality, host, fashion designer, singer and actress Kelly Osbourne shot to notoriety after appearing with her famous parents and younger brother in the Emmy Award-winning reality television series “The Osbournes.” The youngest daughter of heavy metal rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, television host, author and voice of Mama Hook in Disney Junior’s “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” Osbourne is a fashion correspondent for E! Network and also serves as co-host for the network’s popular “Fashion Police” series. She competed on season nine of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and placed third with her partner Louis van Amstel.

Stay tuned for more on Hildy Gloom!

Oh My Disney, boys and girls! It’s Anonymouse here…I’ve been scurrying around internets to find you this latest bit of Disney Gossip. Today I might have uncovered, thanks to a little help from a friend information on when Free Disney Dining might be released!

The Cast Members are all atwitter with news of Free Dining coming back! That’s right, folks…FREE DisneyDining! It’s speculated to be September (fall) time frame similar to last year. Official news is expected sometime in the next week or so.

The reason for the release is due to vacation bookings are down for this fall so in efforts to boost them back up Disney is going to play the Free Dining Card.  If you remember Chip has been saying for years that Disney will do away with Free Dining, but the caveat is only if sales remain high. I guess we will see.

I’ll be booking my Travel now with one of the Chip and Co Travel Agents from Destinations in Florida. Once FREE Dining is released, my wonderful Travel Agent will automatically apply FREE Dining to my Vacation Package. I can’t wait!

What do you think about FREE Dining? What dates are you hoping for? Please leave a comment in my comment section below.

Anywho, that is all the Disney gossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my facebook page

Lawsuit Filed Against Disney’s Disability Access Service

img024

According to wdwinfo.com there has been a lawsuit filed against Disney’s Disability Access Service, claiming that they discriminate against certain disabilities.

I knew it was just matter of time. Since I have personal experience with this, I can tell you that I feel they treat certain disabilities like they matter more than others.

The lawsuit was filed very recently, on April 3, 2014 in California.  The lawsuit is 176 pages and it alleges that Disneyland and Disney World are violating the Americans with Disability Act and California laws that prohibit disability discrimination.

Some of you may remember the GAC, it was much better in my opinion. They changed the entire system when an article was released saying that some rich people were paying disabled tour guides so they can skip the lines. I could understand changing some things but to change the whole system and penalize innocent people for the mistakes of a few is not fair.

What do you think?

Disney Quick Tips – Try A Dole Whip

Dole Whip Magic in a cup2
Dole Whip Magic in a cup2

dole whip

The Disney Resorts offer some pretty amazing snacks. There are plenty of Mickey shaped snacks at Disney, but there are also quite a few other delicious snacks that you just have to try. At the top of that list is the Dole Whip.

The Dole Whip soft serve sorbet treat arguably one of the best Disney snacks. While Dole Whips are available in orange and vanilla flavors, the pineapple flavor is by far the most popular. At Walt Disney World, you will find Dole Whips at Aloha Isle in Adventureland. This location offers regular Dole Whips, as well as, Dole Whip floats in pineapple juice. At Captain Cook’s located at the Polynesian Resort you will find self serve Dole Whips. That’s right – you can fill you bowl with as much of this deliciousness as you can fit in the bowl!

You can also find Dole Whips at the Tiki Juice Bar in Disneyland’s Adventureland. This location serves Dole Whips only in the pineapple flavor. To add to the tiki feel of the area, these Dole Whips come with a cute little umbrella and a cherry!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Oswald

You can now see Oswald at the Tokyo Disney Resort. This is his official debut at the parks. He will be making his first appearance just in time for their spring celebrations.

Oswald has had many occupations and visited many spots around the world. I guess he liked Tokyo so much that he decided to make it his new home.

Oswald

You can visit him in the Cape Cod area of the American Waterfront at Tokyo DisneySea. He will be playing the role of a farmer greeting his new friends at his produce stand.

Oswald hopes you will come and see him at Tokyo Disneyland. Will you make the long trip to meet Oswald?

Did you know that Oswald was Walt Disney’s first animated star? He made his debut before the infamous Mickey Mouse.

Best Times to Request Disney Vacation Club Rooms

Beach Club Villas

Disney Vacation Club resorts are very popular, so knowing when to make a request increases your chances of getting the resort or room type that you are hoping for. Several factors determine which resorts or types of rooms fill up the fastest. Understanding what some of those are will help you choose the best time to make your rental request.

One factor to consider is location. Some resorts are more popular than others simply based on where they are located on the Disney property. For instance, Bay Lake Tower is the closest DVC resort to the Magic Kingdom and is located on the monorail loop. Both of these make it a highly sought after resort, especially for guests with small children.

Along with location, special events taking part in the parks also have an effect on resort popularity. The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a very popular event that takes place in the fall. You must get your request in early if you want to secure a room at either the Boardwalk or Beach Club Villas, both of which are within walking distance to Epcot.

Resort size is another thing to consider. It is much easier to get into the larger resorts, like Saratoga Springs and Old Key West, simply because they have more rooms overall. Contrary to that, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge Villas have fewer rooms, so they fill up more quickly.

Room type also plays into the equation. I know from personal experience that if I want a studio at Boardwalk Villas with a view of the boardwalk and Crescent Lake, I better get my request in at the earliest possible time. If I wait, the only choice I may get is a one bedroom with a pool/garden view.

There’s a lot to consider and, especially if you are new to the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, it can be overwhelming to know when the best time is to put in a request for the particular resort and room type that you want. The good news is that David’s Vacation Club Rentals has been doing this for quite awhile and I’m happy to say that we can help you out. We have suggested times to put in your reservation for each room type and resort in the DVC inventory. I’ve posted a list of our recommendations below.

Keep in mind, these are just recommendations and many factors, even things we haven’t mentioned, will effect availability. It’s always possible that there have been cancellations, or some fluke has caused rooms to be available even when we think they won’t be – so it never hurts to have us check to see if your particular request can be met, even if it isn’t within our recommended time frame. On the other side of that, please keep in mind that these are only guidelines and do not guarantee actual availability.

One last thing to consider: your travel dates can greatly effect availability as well. Rooms always fill sooner for popular dates, breaks and holidays, such as Spring Break and Christmas, so it is best to be earlier than the recommended timelines when requesting these dates. In summer months, beach resorts are quite popular. Vero Beach and Hilton Head Island should be booked 9 to 11 months in advance for summer and peak season times.

If you’re still not sure about when to request your room, keep in mind, sooner is always better than later. If you have any questions, we are here to help. You can always call our toll-free number (800) 610-5791, email us, talk to us via live chat, or visit our facebook page. We are available Monday – Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. Happy planning!

Are Disney World Character Dining Meals a Value or Not?

P4230288
P4230288

Pluto at 'Ohana

Who doesn’t want to be able to see characters quickly when they are at Disney?  Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, Lilo, Stitch, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey Mouse…  I could go on, but there are many Disney Characters to see and interact with when you book a Disney Dining table service meal at select restaurants around Disney.  When making dining selections, the question often becomes character meals: value or not?

It is no surprise that table service meals cost more than their quick service counterparts.  For those on the Disney basic or above dining plan, you have already paid for a table service meal so booking a character meal (barring Cinderella’s Royal Table that takes 2 credits) is probably a no-brainer.  If you have a Tables in Wonderland card, your party will receive 20% off the character meal cost.  Families who are paying out of pocket or on the quick-service dining plan may need to consider whether the character meals provide enough of a value the most out of all of the dining groups.

My family weighs the quality of the food, the number of or which characters are present, and the quantity of our time involved when trying to decide on the amount of value we will get.  The amount of time waiting in lines out in the hot Florida sun is less attractive to my family than the 1 1/2  hours it usually takes us to get done with a character meal.  We often do character meals so we can take a break from the heat and see several characters without waiting in long lines.  Obviously, not every character that your family may want to see will be able to be done via  character meal, but it will save you from more standing and waiting in additional lines.  During character meals, we see 4 to 5 characters during the 1 1/2 hours we are seated.  If we were standing in character lines out in the parks with the line for each character being 1/2 hour, we would be at 2 to 2 1/2 hours easily.  The time saved at character meals equals value to my family.

Most character meals only have certain meal periods that they operate with characters.  Generally speaking, breakfast is the cheapest option, followed by lunch and then dinner.  If you are torn deciding on whether to do a character meal or not strictly based on cost, then I would recommend looking at a breakfast character meal.  Another positive about breakfast character meals is that if you book the dining time for before the park opens, your family will be able to enter early to get to your dining reservation on time which is a great way to get pictures without very many people being around.   No matter which meal you book, character meals are a great way to get more character autographs all without leaving your table.   You can find the listing of available character meals by clicking here.

What does your family think – character meals – value or not?  Please comment below.  We would love to hear about your thoughts about whether character meals represent a value to your family!
