Time to get Ready for ‘Villains Unleashed’ at Hollywood Studios

Villians unleashed

Villains Unleashed

We are fast approaching the “Villains Unleashed” event at Hollywood Studios. There will be a whopping 50 villains in one park. Unfortunately this is separate hard ticket event. There are some great events planned and some surprises along the way, I am sure!

Here are the details:

  • Hades Hangout – The party kicks off at 8 p.m. at the main event stage, where hosts Hades, Megara, Pain and Panic are killing ‘em with comedy. They’re joined throughout the night by the Underworld Dancers, DJ Igg Nite, live music from Bernie Briquette and Brimstone, and a rogues gallery of roaming rottens, from the Queen of Hearts and Sheriff of Nottingham to the Big Bad Wolf and Captain Hook.
  • Villains Dominion – For this one special night, the Streets of America area of the park will be swarming with baddies. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to meet favorites like Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier and Gaston, along with more rarely seen baddies such as Shan Yu from “Mulan,” Bowler Hat Guy from “Meet the Robinsons,” or Captain Gantu and Dr. Hämsterviel from “Lilo & Stitch: The Series.” In addition to these dedicated villain encounters, you may spot even more wandering evildoers in the area. Look for Judge Claude Frollo, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella, and more!
  • The Dark Side – During “Villains Unleashed,” the area around Star Tours – The Adventures Continue becomes a wretched hive of scum and villainy, the place to find nefarious bounty hunter Boba Fett, Sith apprentice Darth Maul, and the ultimate villain – Darth Vader! And that’s not all! Wandering the area, you’ll stumble upon more malcontents from that galaxy far, far away: Zam Wessel, Aurra Sing, Asajj Ventress, Jango Fett, Greedo, Jawas, and others.
  • Villainous Encounters – Visit Stage 4 (where The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow attraction is seen during the day), and you can “Parlay” with the one and only Hector Barbossa. And just around the corner in the Animation Courtyard is where you’ll discover a bit of the Moors, where you can have an audience with the mistress of all evil, Maleficent!
  • Oogie Boogie’s Freaky Funhouse Show – Over on Sunset Boulevard, Theater of the Stars presents a production of extreme performances, hosted by the original master of scare-monies, Oogie Boogie. It’s an all-new show that’s sure to thrill!
  • Fantasmic! – Strolling up Sunset Boulevard, a gang of villainous henchmen, known as the Night Crawlers, tempt you to join them for a special pre-show to the evening’s performance of Fantasmic!, itself a celebration of the power and intrigue of some of the greatest Disney villains.
  • “Villainy in the Sky” Fireworks – Ultimately, Hades summons Maleficent to the main event stage to close things out with a devilishly dazzling display of pyrotechnics!
  • Villains ExScream Makeover with complimentary face painting at stations around Echo Lake.
  • Dance Parties you can also get your groove on at one of the dance parties in the park.

A villains event would not be complete without the one and only Maleficent

Maleficent Villains Unleashed

The evil fun will take place on one night and one night only, August 23, 2014, at Hollywood Studios. If you are as big of a Villains fan as I am, I suggest you get your tickets now before they are gone!

frozen

I think Disney World is more fun at nighttime!  Here are some things you can do after the sun goes down at the most magical place on earth.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

Frozen Summer Fun Live! If you love the movie then I would say this is a must do. Journey to Arendelle all summer long with Frozen Summer Fun Live! activities taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. After welcoming Anna and Elsa every morning, then ice skating at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, and dancing with Olaf at the Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party all afternoon, guests can end their day with a grand fireworks show that soars above the Sorcerer Mickey Hat on Hollywood Blvd.

Frozen Summer Fun Live! happens daily now through September 1 beginning at 11 a.m. Frozen-themed fireworks, set to popular tunes from the film, light up the sky at 9:45 p.m. each evening, weather permitting.

“The Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package,” which offers special viewing for three of the new experiences, includes an exclusive dessert party in a reserved area while viewing the Frozen fireworks. Packages cost $59 for adults and $34 for children (including tax and gratuity).

Fantasmic! If you can only see one show on your vacation this one should be it! Mickey Mouse’s imagination comes to life during this nighttime show featuring favorite Disney heroes and villains at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Fantasmic! immerses spectators in Sorcerer Mickey’s dreams by using stunning pyrotechnics, laser lights and dramatic effects. This show plays nightly, weather permitting.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

Harambe Nights – To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Academy Award-winning film, “The Lion King,” the streets of Harambe Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom are bursting with excitement and after-hours fun with the all-new summer series, Harambe Nights.

The 55-minute theatrical extravaganza, “The Lion King Concert in the Wild,” features celebrity narrators, a live orchestra, choir and special effects to retell the story of “The Lion King” in a way that’s never been done before.

After the show, guests are invited to a lively street party right outside Harambe Theater, which features Afro-pop rhythms, performers, and a buffet of African culinary creations that are sure to delight.

This is the theme park’s first-ever after-hours ticketed event. Tickets for the event, which runs every Saturday now to August 9, are priced at $119 ages 10 and up; $79 ages 9 and under. Premium floor seating tickets are $134 ages 10 and up; $94 ages 9 and under. Harambe Nights runs from 7-10:30 p.m. Parking is complimentary.

Epcot:

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth — The story of Earth unfolds dramatically during IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot. In this stunning retelling of Earth’s history, lasers, fireworks and water effects leap across the sky around the World Showcase Lagoon each night, weather permitting.

IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party – Enjoy IllumiNations while tasting sweet treats from select World Showcase nations at the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party.

Sample Tiramisu from Italy, Vanilla Pot de Crème from France, Shortbread Cookies from the United Kingdom, Traditional Baklava from Morocco, Sugar Dusted Cronis with strawberries and whipped cream from America, and Disney Parks ice cream novelties. Paired with the perfect international sparkling wines, everyone is sure to find something to please their palette. I will take one of each please.

Epcot After Hours Wind Down – In an intimate experience set at one of four authentic and exclusive lounges at Epcot, award-winning Epcot chefs and sommeliers treat guests to a beverage flight and a sample of cultural cuisine with the Epcot After Hours Wind Down experience.

The wind down takes place after the nighttime spectacular Thursday through Sunday from 9:20 p.m. to 11 p.m. at: La Cava del Tequila (Mexico), Spice Road Table (Morocco), Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar (Italy), Rose & Crown Pub (United Kingdom).

The menu includes a selection of appetizers and one beverage flight. The price is $35 per person/per location, and a cash bar option is available.

Magic Kingdom:

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular – Skies above Cinderella Castle blaze in all colors as the story of the power of believing unfolds. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular at Magic Kingdom delights guests of all ages, lighting the nighttime sky with dazzling fireworks. Disney favorites like Tinker Bell and Jiminy Cricket even make an appearance during the nightly show.

Main Street Electrical Parade — The streets of Magic Kingdom glow and twinkle as Tinker Bell and friends make their way down Main Street, U.S.A, as part of the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade. The parade, which features more than half a million dancing lights and catchy electronic tunes, has been delighting crowds since 1972. Join Tink and other loveable Disney characters twice nightly at 9 and 11:00, weather permitting.

Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party – A perfect view of Cinderella Castle and the sights and sounds of Wishes Nighttime Spectacular can only be made sweeter with one thing: dessert. Enjoy the combination of sweets and fireworks at the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom.

Tables at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant are brimming with pastries, cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries and many more mouthwatering desserts with a nearly unobstructed view of Cinderella Castle and the sky above.

This delicious fun takes place one hour before is scheduled to begin. (Note: Wishes Nighttime Spectacular can be canceled or rescheduled without prior notice.)

Special after-dark dining experiences:

Discovering nighttime family meals where eating is entertaining has never been more fun. Walt Disney World Resorts are home to three guest-favorite dinner shows around property:

Disney’s Polynesian Resort hosts the “Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show” which features authentic Polynesian dancing with a cast from the South Pacific. Highlights of “Polynesian Luau” include traditional drumming and music, and dances including the hula.

Set in Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer’s old stompin’ grounds, the covered pavilion hosts this outdoor picnic where kids and adults alike can line dance alongside their favorite Disney characters with toe-tapping beats from a live country-western band.

This dinner show is only offered on select nights from March through December. Prices are $59.99 for ages 10 and over and $36.99 for ages 3 to 9. Price includes tax and gratuity.

All 3 dinner shows are available to the general public.

At Downtown Disney West Side, nightlife is hot, hot, hot. The fantasy of Cirque du Soleil comes to life twice nightly, five days a week with La Nouba. Live performances by chart-topping musical groups are on the menu along with authentic Mississippi Delta cuisine at House of Blues. A taste of Miami’s South Beach sizzles at Downtown Disney with BongosCuban Café, which is backed by superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband/producer, Emilio.

At nightfall, Disney’s BoardWalk captures the charm of yesteryear at the mid-Atlantic seashore. Take a stroll down the twinkling boardwalk, rent surrey bikes, try out amusing carnival games or visit themed restaurants and showplaces. Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall open their doors to folks looking to sing-along or boogie the night away.

Which one sounds good to you?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1

GotG Pix1

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)  has 12 of the most popular songs of the 70s.  Director James Gunn shared that Music played a major role in Guardians of the Galaxy more than in any other Marvel movie to date.   Based on the plot, the main character, Peter Quill has a compilation tape given to him by his mother.  Full of her favorite songs, it’s the only connection he still has to earth.   But what the music does for the story line, it also does for the audience in that it provides moviegoers with a sense of familiarity in a strange and foreign universe.

Working with Composer, Tyler Bates. Gunn used some of the score during filming, especially in the big emotional and action scenes giving the actors a better understanding of the musical tone of the movie.

The song list below includes a wide genre of music from The Jackson Five to Rupert Holmes, yet each song fits the scene perfectly.

01.  Hooked on a Feeling

02. Go All the Way

03.  Spirit in the Sky (not in the movie)

04.  Moonage Daydream

05. Fooled Around and Fell in Love

06. I’m Not in Love

07.  I Want You Back

08.  Come and Get your love

09.  Cherry Bomb

10. Escape (The Pina Colada Song)

11. O-O-H Child

12.  Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Don’t miss out on the amazing soundtrack full of oldies but goodies.  Available July 29, 2014.  Order your copy today!

Walt Disney Drawn From Imagination Book Review!

walt

walt

Walt Disney: Drawn From Imagination by Bill Scollon is a beautifully written book that chronicles the life of Walt Disney from its beautiful beginning till its untimely end.

Right off the bat the cover of this book got me. Walt in his favorite place creating and drawing brings a smile to my face and I’m sure a smile to many other fans of his. This book is targeted at kids mainly but for me a 16 year old girl who’s probably supposed to have grown out of these types of books I loved it. It’s a great read for everyone with captivating pictures of Walt and his iconic characters to its amazingly informative sidebars.
This book is captivating and I believe a great read for anyone who wants to know more about Walt and his legacy without diving into a thousand page book with no true appeal to it. Kids will love the book and it’s a great way to turn them into Disney addicts (you know you want to!) and to show them a tried and true story of true perseverance that they can learn and grow from. I’m a firm believer in reading books to better yourself and this book reinforces that idea for me.

It’s a quick fun read that makes you look at everything related to Disney with even more fascination than before. This book has no grammar errors which is great and sometimes hard to come by in books today. I give this book a solid A+ So go grab Walt Disney: Drawn From Imagination in book stores now!

Stay tuned for more reviews!

Planes: Fire & Rescue Soundtrack

unnamed 1
unnamed 1

unnamed (1)

The Planes:  Fire & Rescue Soundtrack is full of great lyrics and music to perfectly complement the movie.  Mark Mancina, who composed the music for the first film, returns  for the sequel.  Brad Paisley also contributed with “All In”  which he wrote and performed.  Paisley also performed “Runway Romance”, which was co-written by Bobs Gannaway and Danny Jacob.  With Spencer Lee performing “Still I Fly”.     Planes: Fire & Rescue’s soundtrack enhances the movie experience with just the right sound at the right moment.    Paisley’s “All In”  is sure to become a favorite for all.  The lyrics are written as a tribute to Paisley’s dad and family who are firefighters but honor every single firefighter who puts his or her life on the line and goes “ALL IN”.   Runway Romance adds a cute tune and lyrics but the one that hits home for me is “Still I Fly” because it puts into words the feeling of the movie’s theme – Second Chances.

Below is a list of songs included in the Planes: Fire & Rescue CD.

1. Still I Fly (03:58)
2. Runway Romance (02:44)
3. All In (03:45)
4. Planes: Fire & Rescue – Main Title (02:26)
5. Propwash (01:56)
6. Out of Production (01:10)
7. Dusty Crash Lands (00:57)
8. Fire! (01:29)
9. An All New Mayday (01:04)
10. Sad Mayday Score (02:01)
11. Pontoons (00:46)
12. A Special Kind of Plane (00:25)
13. Training Dusty (02:21)
14. We Got the Gear Box (00:37)
15. Cad (01:24)
16. Blazin’ Blade Mystery (00:23)
17. Mystery of Blaze-Lightning (01:22)
18. Lightning Storm Fire (01:47)
19. (It’s) Hip to Be Cad (02:28)

American Experience will debut “Walt Disney” in the fall of 2015. It will be a 4 hour show and will take place over 2 nights. It will give you an inside look at the legacy of Disney.

The show will feature rare vintage footage from the Disney vaults, scenes from Disney films, interviews with animators and artists who worked on Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs and people who helped design Disneyland. When Walt passed away in 1966, 240 million people saw a Disney movie, 100 million tuned in every week to watch a Disney television program, 80 million bought Disney merchandise, and nearly 7 million visited Disneyland. Those are big numbers for that time.

The film is Directed and produced by Sarah Colt and written by Mark Zwonitzer.

First Official Look at Elsa on “Once Upon a Time”

Once Upon a Time has debuted their first official look at Georgina Haig as Elsa with Time.

Last May the show revealed it would be introducing Elsa during the season finale. Fans of Frozen were over joyed, and have been eagerly awaiting to see their Snow Queen in all her icy live action glory! Earlier this month Anna and Kristoff were cast, shortly followed by Georgina Haig as Elsa. Hans has also been cast, and the producers have given a resounding NO to Olaf joining the show.

Once Upon a Time is known for putting meticulous detailing into it’s wardrobe, and it looks like Elsa’s dress will be no exception! Georgina tweeted earlier this week that the Elsa costume consisted of 8 pieces. Scott Michael Foster’s Kristoff costume also seems quite detailed from the official photograph as well.

Once Upon A Time will premiere on Sunday, September 28 at 8/7c on ABC. The official photograph will also appears in the August 4th, 2014, issue of TIME. If you missed Elsa’s reveal last season on Once Upon a Time, you can check it out below.
