The Walt Disney Studios and the IMAX^® Corporation have joined together to announce the upcoming screening of the live action movie – Cinderella. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the movie stars Cate Blanchett as the Stepmother and Lily James in the lead role of Cinderella. The movie will be re-mastered into IMAX^® format and released worldwide on March 13, 2015.

The live-action movie based on the classic fairy tale is written by Chris Weitz and produced by Simon Kinberg, Allison Shearmur and David Barron. Cinderella tells the story of a young girl named Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries after the death of her mother. Ella welcomes her new stepmother and step sisters, Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father suddenly dies, the jealous new family treat her like a servant and rename her Cinderella. But even living in this hopeless situation, Ella continues to honor her mom’s dying words “have courage and be kind.” Meeting a handsome stranger (Richard Madden) in the woods is the one thing that keeps her going. When the Palace invites every maiden to the ball, Cinderella with the help of a kind beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) changes her life forever.

Disney’s New “MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND: MISSIONS” App Now Available!

Get ready to blast off with Disney’s new app Miles From Tomorrowland: Missions! An game based on the new hit Disney Junior series “Miles from Tomorowland”

The “Miles from Tomorrowland: Missions” app features Miles Callisto, and his fantastic friend Merc, a robo-ostrich in an action packed, fast-paced adventure across the galaxy! Confirmed: Disney Raises Ticket Prices

Anonymouse is right once again. In January she warned us about ticket prices going up at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Inside sources have now confirmed the probability of an increase during the month of February.

Based on the information, a 1-day base ticket for the Magic Kingdom will be priced at $105.00 (plus tax), with Hollywood Studios, Epcot, or Animal Kingdom at $99.00 (plus tax). Changes to the water park-hopper and no expiration ticket options have not been confirmed.

Similar increases are expected at Disneyland as well, with price increments similar to the last increase.

Abrams Pushing Disney for Early Release of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Leaking secrets from the up coming Star Wars film has J.J. Abrams requesting that Disney move up the released date for the film. According to an online source this information comes from the mouth of Abrams himself, addressing a group of attendees at the 2015 Visual Effects Society Awards where he openly expressed his frustration about the Episode VII leaks.

Disney issued a subpoena over Star Wars: The Force Awakens earlier this month. Clearly the company is taking the leaks very seriously and a decision to move up the current December 18th, 2015 opening date could be a very real possibility.

Though Disney may be considering the move it brings into question how far along the marketing and merchandise is and weather or not it would be a wise business move for them. Also its been indicated that Abrams wants a summer release leaving many to wonder how would that affect the Star Wars spin offs planned to be released in between episodes VII and VIII.

Cinderella’s Glass Slipper Gets a Couture Update

If I have learned anything from watching Cinderella it is that new shoes can change a girls’ life. Whether your new fancy footwear is designed to dance until midnight, run a marathon, or keep you going through your not-so-glamorous workday, there is something about a new pair of shoes that is full of optimism. But every shoe needs an update or facelift (or should it be footlift?) now and then, and that’s exactly what Disney asked nine designers to do in anticipation of the Cinderella live action film slated for release later in March. Nine lucky fashion designers were given the task of re-imagining the iconic glass slipper. While this has been done in the past, this is the first official Disney collaboration that will actually be sold in stores throughout the world including Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills and New York, Harrods in London, and Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
Disney Entertainment’s Vice President of Consumer Products, Jonathan Symington says “Cinderella’s glass slipper has become a magical symbol of transformation.” I couldn’t agree more! Let’s take a look at all the magical new designs!

Stuart Weitzman created a jewel encrusted, sky high bootie that is sure to stay put on your foot all night long. No need to worry about losing one of your slippers with this pair!

Massimiliano Giornetti of Salvatore Ferragamo’s design reminds me of Cinderella meets Audrey Hepburn with the classic cap-toe and sparkling heel.

Nicholas Kirkwood has some fun with color and a playful bow detail.

Sandra Choi from Jimmy Choo’s design is fit for a princess and is entirely covered with sparkle and gems.

This pair, designed by CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient Paul Andrew, is a classic silhouette that doesn’t skip on the glitz and glam.

Jerome C. Rousseau has a unique take on the iconic shoe with this summer sandal in blue.

Alexandre Birman goes simple and elegant with this classic design that is sure to stay in style long past midnight.

Charlotte Olympia takes Cinderella to new heights with this large platform design.

René Caovilla makes magic come alive with this stunning design that looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale

McFarland USA closes the film festival in Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival hosted the cast from McFarland USA at the screening of the movie. Director Niki Caro, Kevin Costner, and the 7 young men who starred as the championship team, all attended the film’s screening at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara. I had the honor of meeting the cast earlier in the day at the McFarland USA press event in Hollywood. These young men were a pleasure to meet and interview. Michael Aguero as Dimacio Diaz, Sergio Avelar as Victor Puentes, Hector Duran as Johnny Sameniego, Rafael Martinez as David Diaz, Johnny Ortiz as Jose Cardenas, Carlos Pratts as Thomas Valles and Ramiro Rodriguez as Danny Diaz make up the McFarland USA team based on the 1987 true story. McFarland USA brings us the story of coach Jim White and a group of novice runners from the economically challenged town of McFarland in California, who through the hard work, determination and the power of family, channel their exceptional running abilities and become champions.
